    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
Mark Besnos is the owner of this company and he made sure all work was done perfectly and exactly on time. The workers were polite, considerate and helpful! We started with the master bathroom and then went on to have the whole house redone by Horizon as we were so pleased with their work and their ethics! We even called them back again recently when we had water damage and Mark and his crew repaired all the damage!

    Horizon Construction & Remodeling Inc
We were referred to Horizon Construction from a neighbor that had recently hired them for a bathroom & kitchen remodel. Although Horizons was quote was higher than previous quotes, we went with them based on the quality of workmanship we saw in my neighbors home plus their great online reviews. The first couple of weeks went well. We were told the job would take 4-5 weeks to complete. The first round of workers and inspector were on schedule. Around week three things slowed down. The tile guy only worked between 3-5 hours a day. We ran into a couple problems with paint that resulted in do-overs. Some of the mistakes made by the painters were somewhat novice. However our project manager was quick to respond and correct the issues. The job was completed at the end of week five. At the end, our experience with Horizon Construction was a great one. The office staff and project manager were pleasant and attentive to our concerns. We are happy with the work done in our bathroom and would consider using them again in the future. I highly recommend Horizon Construction to anyone looking to do a remodel/construction in their home.

    Everguard Home Insulation Inc.
Everything about my experience with this company was excellent. On the phone Everguard worked with me to help prep the attic to keep my costs down. Basically they helped streamline the process since some of the things I wanted to do wound up being unnecessary. The most valuable advice was how to prepare the attic immediately around the attic access to prevent blown in insulation from falling down when you enter while still maintaining most of your R value in that area. The technicians arrived exactly on time and, since the attic was completely prepped, they were able to begin. They started with an accurate measuring of the attice square footage (which matched my estimate) and then immediately began with the blown in. To achieve R-38, the blown in insulation must be 10 inches high. We had some visual references established in the attic to double check the depth and it became very clear that they exceeded the 10 inches by at least 3 inches overall, so I am guessing that I have closer to R-50 than R-38. My other concern was that they would not block my soffit vents. To ensure proper air flow they slope the insulation down to the soffit vent openings, and then use a lawn blower from the outside through the vents to ensure that an unblocked tunnel to the vent is established. It's actually a very good system. (the WhirleyBirds on my roof spin just as quickly as they did before, so I am confident the air flow was not compromised.) The total job took around 3 hours & they cleaned up after themselves without leaving a trace. The only remnant of the job is that the house has a slightly musty paper smell for a few days, although it is actually quite pleasant. It smells like an old library. The technician estimated that since I went from R-0 (no insulation) to at least R-38 (fully insulated) that from experience I should expect a 10 degree change in temperature (down in Summer & up in Winter) and a 30% savings on my energy bill. It has been unnaturally cool since the install, so I haven't been able to fully test these claims. HOWEVER, I was working in my house a couple of weeks ago and the house was a comfortable 71 degrees (based upon my thermostat) with obviously no air conditioner runner. When i stepped outside (it was around 3:30 in the afternoon, I was quite surprised to see that the outside temperature was 95 degrees and quite warm. I was shocked. I will be curious to see later this summer when the outside temperature exceeds 100 degrees, but from what I have experienced thus far, I think a 30 percent drop in electricity may be a low estimate. So in summary: Everguard Insulation gave me excellent information before the scheduled insulation, worked quickly and efficiently during the install, installed more than the 10 inches they promised me, there were no surprises with costs, and the results are actually better than they predicted. Finally, Everguard Insulation is listed on the approved venders for SoCal gas, so applying for a rebate can be done easily online. My rebate was $322, so my final price was $2,128 (I did receive a 5% discount for paying cash). I would highly recommend this company.

The workers are conscientious, hard working and courteous. They were on time, did what they were assigned perfectly and cleaned up after! We made a few changes along the way and they hung with us and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. Mark (the contractor), Enna his wife and all the girls in the office were happy to hear from us and always got right back to us with an answer or a solution! Its a family owned business and it makes all the difference!

    Everguard Home Insulation Inc.
It went excellently! Cynthia was my contact and she responded quickly to every question I posed; and I posed many. One thing I was particularly concerned about was whether Everguard Insulation filled in the holes that would be created on the outside of my home's walls (2 holes of about 2" in diameter every 16" which would mean over 100 for my 1360 square foot home) or if they would just put a Styrofoam plug in the holes. If they just put a plug in the holes, which wouldn't be air tight, protect against varmint or bug invasion, and would not have a stucco covering, then I would have to pay a separate company to do that (one company said they would charge me $15 per hole!). Cynthia assured me that they would fill in each hole and try to match it to the texture of the existing stucco, and each would dry and be air tight and secure. And they were! Two men came out and completed the entire house in one day, and they did a wonderful job! Where my water heater was, they drilled holes in the wall from the inside since that wall couldn't be accessed from the outside--and then filled and patched those holes too (at my request). When they were done, the patches looked good, and they cleaned up after themselves so that you wouldn't know they'd be there! Cynthia did say that the holes would dry in a day and then I would need my painters to come out and paint a good, thick primer over the holes, which I had already scheduled. I was VERY HAPPY with the work of the Everguard crew! I am going to have them do my attic insulation next, and I know they will do a fantastic job!

    H&A My Design Inc
They were recommended by a family member and since they were very happy with the work we decided to you them. They were punctual and consistent in doing what they said they would do. If there was anything we had a concern about they immediately
    handle it to our satisfaction.

We recommended them to our neighbor who did a more extensive remodel and is using Golan's company H & A My Design.

You get what you paid for and some more! this is what we felt when we hired this company to replace the insulation at our house.
The service was good and the workers that came over to provide the job were nice and professional as well. since the moment we approved the job until it was completed, it took them 2 days to finish everything. The work was scheduled the following day due to the face that they needed to go and bring all the materials that they need.
The way this company works, you can see that they are doing it for a long time and customer satisfaction is their priority.
this is a recommended company for that type of work

    Attic Masters
We had in the past several times that we suffered from companies that came over and did some work for us. Those times made us learned how to try to prevent them. Our attic had a problem that forced us to hire someone to come over, clean the attic and install new insulation.
We spoke with several companies and we didn't like most of them. We felt being pushed to write a check and that was a no no.
Adam from attic master spoke to us very straight forward and explained to us how they work and charge.
He ask to send me one of his guys to come over and see the job. We agreed to that and the day after, Louis came over and inspect the work. He then spoke to Adam over the phone and gave us his price for that job. The price was good and comparable to the other ones BUT we loved that he gave us some additions of things that he think we might need in the future.
The work was scheduled for the week after and they were able to finish it in 2 days. We had 3 people working and making sure that they don't leave any mess.
We want to thank Adam for this great service and that we appreciate that.

    Attic Guys
First of all, I would like to point out that the two crews that visited our residence were very hard working individuals.  However, the second phase of our contract (the installation of new blow-in cellulose insulation), was not without a couple of problems.  The crew initially had no idea on how to install the aftermarket soffit vent pieces (essential for keeping blow-in insulation from plugging up the soffit vents that keep air circulating in the attic space).  I attribute this 100% to the Company providing little or no training assistance of their crews in this area of attic insulation practices.  Also, the second crew (installing the new blow-in cellulose insulation), arrived without all the materials to complete the job (ie. insulation wrap for our water pipes that run in the attic space, no aftermarket soffit vent pieces, and no covers for the overhead can lights - that were not IC rated.  Again, this information should have been provided to the crews providing these services when the initial sales tech came by and measured our attic space to provide us the initial quote (indicating that our attic joists were 24" on center and how many soffit vents we had in the attic).  Either this information was not provided to the work crews or was not taken initially upon first inspection of our attic. The initial sales tech did note the extra cost to wrap our water pipes in the attic, but the crew failed to bring the pipe insulation when they initially arrived.  Luckily, I had purchased the pipe insulation in advance and they installed what I had bought. Again, the both crews were very hard working and would definitely give them an "A" for effort, but recommend you do your homework and know exactly what you want them to do...and make sure that they do it correctly before signing off on your attic project.

I'm very happy with this investment to my home. The temperature in my home is more evenly distributed and we are comfortable in any part of the house. The crew was very professional and got the job done in a timely manner.
