    George Salet Plumbing Inc
Great crew, professional installation. Very clean and thorough. I called because of high recommendations from Angie's List and was not disappointed in the quality and promptness. My only complaint was the price - $780 for a 7/8 hp unit plus installation is high, even, I expect, in SF. In all fairness, it was disclosed before the work and I agreed to pay. But at that point, I'd taken off from work and rescheduled to accommodate. No one seems to quote without an appointment and I did not to have to schedule someone else. What we paid seems to be at either

    VanGo Rooter
Paul at VanGo did an amazing job with an amazing attitude!  My landlord called them as I was having issues with water backing up in my apartment's utility sink.  This was due to a improperly installed pipe with no slope...actually uphill slope!  Paul explained to the landlord it wasn't due to my mis-use of the plumbing it was due to improper installation of what was supposed to fix some broken pipes in the concrete.  This hack fix was performed by some discount plumbing NOT VanGo.

Anyways, Paul was polite, fast, knowledgeable and got everything done perfectly.  I highly recommend VanGo and especially Paul!

    Thanks!!!

    Expert Rooter & Plumbing, Inc.
Considering the unforseen 'surprises', everything went well. The principal of this line was kept up to speed on how the work was progressing, passed on the info, and knowing what's going on/cost means a lot to me. BTW, the $2,800 was my portion of a joint/shared bill -- the total for all of us was obviously more, so don't get too excited...:-)

    GOTELLI PLUMBING CO
We bought a new sink and faucet and needed a plumber to install it. I chose Leo because he had recently replaced our hot water heater and has received good reviews. Our particular sink installation was not straight forward and Leo came by on a Saturday to look over the situation. He felt confident that they could do a good job. We decided to go ahead with the work. Getting Leo to schedule the work took a while because of summer vacations and whatever else. That was a source of frustration. But he finally scheduled his son Dave to do the work. Dave is a real pro. He did a perfect job installing a stainless steal sink into a hole in a Corian counter top that was too small. A few weeks later the faucet developed a problem with the valve which was no fault of their's. Dave came by the next day and fixed the problem in 20 minutes at no charge.

    Discount Plumbing
    I'll try to summarize quickly:
    * Called this company for the services above.* Plumber visited and gave quote of $349 for toilet install, $120 for other misc. work. I said yes. (By the way, I was also given a quote of $2495 for a replacement 50gallon hot water tank, which I later did for $1300 with a diff't company. $2495 seems double what it should be.)* Anyway, back to the work performed:* Toilet bowl installed, but plumber asked me to help him drag old toilet bowl in a box up stairwell. At the end, I realized it was leaking the whole time and I'd just had the stairwell carpeted. Gross! I can't think what it was dripping! Anyway, this job was done and the toilet works.* The sink work, though, was a nightmare. He said he needed a new lever strap (which is odd - as the existing one was new). * He went shopping for parts for 2.5hrs. * He returned and said the sink lever was fixed. I pulled it up as a test and it came right out of the sink. Glad I tested it first!* He fixed it, but it was still sitting 1inch too high. He adjusted unsuccessfully and seemed in a hurry. * Eventually I paid and he just left and said I should txt him to fix it the next day. I asked about the 12% angies list discount. He said he knew nothing about it but would ask the office the next day.* He also said he'd call the next day to come back and fix the problem. He didn't.* I called the company next day to report on the problem; no one called me back.* I called the original plumber; he said I'd get a refund of 12% on labor and $40 for the extra parts I didn't need. I asked for someone from the company to call me with info on the refund money (i.e. how much). He said sure.* No one ever called me, my money was never refunded, so I got over-charged for services not received and a discount promised on this site was not honored.
This might be a good company with good people. I just personally had a bad experience. I'm a first time home buyer and I moved in about two months ago and this experience left me feeling taken advantage of. Bummer!

    Water Heaters Only, Inc
I  called in about a leaking hot water heater in the late afternoon and a representative - Alex - was at my condo within a couple hours. We assessed the situation and decided that a new water heater was needed and I chose a somewhat smaller 40 gallon size.  From then on it was all Alex. He did a super job quickly removing the old heater and installing the new one. He also replaced some aging connecters and pipes at no charge.  He was finished in less than two hours with no trash or debris left behind. Alex was totally professional, explained what he had done plus some instructions for the new heater. It was a great job and I fully recommend the company (and Alex).  WO #1026809

    MD Plumbing & Sewer
Mr. Duvall was prompt for the appointment to give me an estimate and he also helped me understand why an additional task that I wondered about having done wouldn't work well. When his two employees arrived to do the job they were on time, courteous, and efficient. They did a good job and I would use them again.
