    A&C Auto & Transmission
Estimated 1/2 day to fix unkown problem.  Actually it took 1 3/4 days to get parts from Mazda.  Price was less than expected.  A/C firms usually want to flush the system(250+) but this firm didn't.

    EUROPEAN AUTO SERVICE
I took my Volkswagen Jetta in to be smogged.  They couldn't perform the smog check because the losers at Circuit City installed an aftermarket stereo incorrectly and screwed up the computer.  European Auto didn't charge me one red cent for their time.  Most recently, the dealership told me that the timing chain was stretched and they'd need $3500 to fix it.  I took it to European, and they commiserated with me and said they could knock $1000 off that price.  I opted to sell the car, but when my new one needs service, I'll take it to European.  They're honest as the day is long, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and able to explain things succinctly  in layman terms.

    Serramonte Ford
The service advisor, Henry, was friendly and professional. We discussed the electrical problem and agreed on an estimated price -- it was lower when I picked up the vehicle. Additionally upon getting home, I looked under the hood and under the dashboard where the technician had been -- found no broken plastic covers, missing screws, scratches or smudges. Corny is it seems, that means a lot to me. And, the free shuttle service got me to and from the dealership well under an hours time each way.

    AVR SERVICE
They work on BMW?s and other foreign cars. They do great work and their pricing is just below what the dealership charges. So the price is worth it but there are also some places where you can get the work done for a cheaper rate. However, I don?t think it would be the same quality. The old guy named Albert who was the owner has now turned it over to the younger guy, Mike. Albert is still there even though Mike has been working for all these years. I feel like the quality is still there. I have full and complete trust in their work. I would use their services in the future too.

    TEAM VOLKSWAGEN OF DALY CITY
They use to have great service but within the last year the service has gone down a bit. It seems like they have cut back on staff and they take awhile to get back to me. But they do good work and we will continue to use them.

    AUTO MECHANIC CENTER
Also, Mr. Lee is so honest, and will tell you if a repair is worth doing or not. I went in with a window that would not close all the way electronically and whistled. Mr. Lee took the door panel off, checked everything, and said, "I thought I could fix this with a simple part, but it is going to require ordering a special part from the dealer. With that and labor, it will be about $220 to fix. If it were my car, I'd just hold my hand against the window for pressure when I roll it up, and live with that." Of course, that worked just fine for me. Then, he didn't charge me ANYTHING for his time or advice, though he'd had to take the door panel off to check it out. That's so like him! When's the last time you left your mechanic's shop, waving and smiling to them? That's the kind of service you get from Chung and Sue Lee--family run, but very professional about car care!

    Oak Park Citgo
INITIALLY, THE PEOPLE AT CITGO WERE VERY HONEST AND ONCE, WHEN THEY HAD DONE SOMETHING TO DISCONNECT SOME WIRES, REPAIRED IT AT NO COST, THOUGH I DID NOT KNOW THEY HAD BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE TROUBLE. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEM UNTIL THEY TOLD US OUR CAR NEEDED NEW ROTORS. A MECHANIC FRIEND OF OURS LOOKED AT THE DISCARDED ROTORS AND SAID THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THAT SET US BACK $400. IT WAS WHEN THEY INSISTED THAT WE NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR FOR A STALLING PROBLEM THAT WE GOT A SECOND OPINION AND FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FINE, JUST THE WIRES WERE LOOSE. WE WERE BERATED AND BELITTLED FOR WANTING A SECOND OPINION. DOING SO, HOWEVER, SAVED US A LOT OF MONEY.
