I called Kevin Fay of Sunra Plumbing. Kevin responded within an hour. He was calming & reassuring. He was at my house that afternoon to access the damage. The next morning he and 2 of his crew were at my house replacing the broken water heater. Kevin Fay is kind, professional & efficient.... and his prices are reasonable. He is the BEST!!

    Duncan Plumbing
To Whom It May Concern, I had massive drain clogs (of extremely stubborn grease) in my plumbing pipes, leading to my septic tank. I had standing water (and human waste) in all of my toilets, and neither my showers nor my sinks would drain properly. So, I called an experienced local plumber (with great online reviews) to help me deal with the situation. However, this (first) plumber was not up to the challenge. (He was unable to resolve the situation, and he misdiagnosed the problem.) Then, I called Duncan Plumbing. Enrique, at Duncan Plumbing, came to my home the very same day that I called to schedule an appointment. In fact, he was at my home (in Bonny Doon) within two hours of my call. It was pouring rain (and hailing) outside, with frigid temperatures. Nevertheless, Enrique got to work right away. He examined the layout of the plumbing pipes in the crawl-space under my home. He removed the covers off of my septic tank risers and examined the capacity, flow-rate and layout of my septic tank. He also evaluated other critical elements, related to my plumbing problems. Then, he provided me with a fair price quote to resolve the situation -- with a number of different options (based on alternative approaches). Enrique worked from 1:30pm to 6:30pm, non-stop -- and, during this process, Enrique demonstrated himself to be highly experienced, and an expert problem-solver (quickly and easily dealing with new issues and challenges as they came along). Although it was an incredibly challenging job, Enrique completed all of the work in one day -- removing all of the clogs in my pipes -- fully restoring my plumbing to perfect working condition. Enrique was kind, courteous and professional -- and he cleaned-up all of the mess that was made during the process or clearing the pipes, and getting my bathrooms back into working order. If and when I experience plumbing problems in the future, my first call will always be to Enrique at Duncan Plumbing. And for those who find themselves in need of a plumber (in the Santa Cruz area), I strongly recommend that you call Duncan Plumbing, and request the help of Enrique.

    Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air
All work was performed professionally and well. I'm around the house lot, so I saw the Bellows plumbers working, and they knew what they were doing. I wasn't thinking about replacing the old disposal until they showed me how close to leaking it was. Since I knew that the disposal was really old, it wasn't a big surprise that it was just a matter of time until it started leaking. And a no-brainer to replace it. My wife and I found the kitchen faucet at Home Depot, and the Bellows guy removed the old one and installed the new one. We were left with a job of finishing the caulking around the sink (it had moved during the faucet replacement and needed to be recaulked), but that was fine. I'm okay with caulking, rather not pay a plumber extra to do that. On the pressure reducer valve (PRV), they brought the related plumbing up to code (and safety standards) by adding an expansion tank at the water heater. Then they installed the PRV that I had found recommended on the internet, even though they usually installed a different, also recommended model. I was happy that they were willing and able to follow what I had found to be the best PRV for the job. They took care of getting the air and junk out of the supply lines, and left the pressure adjusted to 75psi, nice to have a job really finished. I do have to say that their rates are high, I'll have to balance that in the future. The toilet work, unclogging and changing the flapper valve was over $200, but the toilet is working well now, like new. The kitchen faucet change was over $500, about twice what I had hoped for. Changing the disposal was over $500, including the 1/2HP model that they installed. The PRV work was about $1000 including parts...don't know what to say about that one, no basis for comparison. They did give me an estimate ahead of time for the PRV work, and stuck with it. As I said, all work was done completely and professionally. There is a lot to be said for using a contractor that you can count on to do the job and leave you with a nice piece of work that doesn't need to have them come back to fix or finish. On the other hand, the rates charged seemed high to me. I'm willing to pay more for plumbing work that's done well, and I don't feel like I'll need them to come back. I'll figure out in the future if I feel that I can continue to pay their high rates. Confidence in their work counts for a lot for me, though.

    Laurel Cimarellis Plumbing Co
Access to the drain was limited and it appeared that some expensive modifications might be necessary. However, they were prepared and were able to access and clear the drain without any modifications to the drain or the wall. They were quick, thorough, and professional. I have no regrets for calling them.

    Patterson Plumbing and Drain Inc.
It went very well, Ivan is amazing. Very professional, makes sure the job is complete and everything is in order. He was responsive, prompt and very easy to work with, and the price was reasonable. I was not in town so all this was done remotely and he did a great job. He is honest and communicative and I felt like I could completely trust him. I plan to use Patterson Plumbing from now on. Highly recommended.

    Galvan's Custom Plumbing
We hired Jesus Galvan, (Galvan?s Custom Plumbing, galvanplumbing@att.net,  ph.no.   831-254-7972), to do the plumbing when we moved a bathroom and laundry room.  His bid was far below other bids we had from plumbers in the area and made the project possible.  We discussed the job with him and it was immediately apparent he knows what he is doing. The work was proceeding well when he noticed a leaking nipple at a copper, galvanized iron, junction. Further inspection showed several other points just about to fail.  Jesus replaced the failing pipes for a very
reasonable price and saved us from what could have been a disastrous failure. When replacing the corroded pipes, he really went the extra mile to ensure we did not have to tear the house apart to make the replacements. I watched him work in extremely uncomfortable positions, and use considerable intelligence to avoid opening walls.

Jesus is a family man who is establishing an independent plumbing business.  He is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, honest, inventive, and astonishingly reasonable.  He is also very easy to work with regarding scheduling; and he shows up on time whenever he says he will come in. We will not use anyone else in the future, and we unreservedly and enthusiastically recommend Jesus for your plumbing needs; he?s that good!

    Pacific Trend Builders
I never bother writing reviews, and I certainly never pay to write one! ?That said, I have been SO impressed with Carl Owens, owner of Pacific Trend Buiders, his work, ethics, top quality and punctuality, ?that I felt it was important to share with others.? Many of you know that sadly the world of builders/contractors/carpenters has a reputation for not being reliable. ?Difficult to count on. Carl is so punctual that my ?husband and I would literally laugh out loud each morning as the clock struck nine o'clock ?and Carl would arrive on the dot, every day for one month straight! His attention to detail and knowledge on "how to do things correctly" is impeccable. ?He knows the codes and has a good eye for aesthetics and quality. ?He is focused, hard working, and highly efficient. ?He doesn't "rush" through the job, rather he gets it done right! As a person doing tile work he's clearly had years of experience and you can trust that you wil have a perfect job in the end. Plumbing and electrical are also perfectly done. Framing, sheet rock, painting...he also carefully and cautiously selects sub contractors for some parts and expects the same level of responsibility and quality. ? Basidcally ?I have nothing but praise for Carl, the only problem now is that he works at such a high caliber that I can't possibly imagine ever hiring anyone else to ever work here again, it's got to be CARL with Pacific Trend Builders.! I'd be happy to give a reference, show pictures etc.... ?Yana
