Had  a problem with sewage backing up into the bathtub.  After trying unsuccessfully to snake the drain, I called Allison because they were highly rated and located nearby.
The young lady on the phone said that she would try to get a technician out that day, or the following day at the latest.  A short time later she called and said that a technician would be out by 11:00 the same day (great for me).
Doug (the technician) arrived on time, and we took the tour of the house and the plumbing.   After a brief discussion regarding what needed  to be done immediately, and in the future, we agreed on a price and he commenced to work.
Within a short time the drain blockage (a large amount of hair) was resolved and things were back to normal, and I had a happy wife

Company was called because of a drain blockage causing kitchen & dishwasher drain to back up into toilet in the garage.  I tried this company from the yellow pages (my first mistake)...He arrived about an hour late; then gave me an estimate of $250 to clear the drain.  The price seemed rather steep, but I consented. (It would have been more, but I removed the toilet that was blocking the cleanout plug.) Anyway, he did get the drain cleared but said that it was "acting funny."  He examined the blade of the rooter and found a small piece of debris that looked like a root to him.  He then proceeded to tell me that my drain might be broken or collapsed under the slab...a problem that could cost 10's of thousands of dollars to fix.  This really got me concerned, of course.

Next, he told me that the only way we could tell was to run a camera through the drain and examine it.  He called his friend who was there quickly with the equipment (I think this was $350).  I watched like a hawk as they ran the camera through, and guess what?  No collapsed or broken line!  However, the pipe had a lot of grease clinging to the walls of the pipes, so they said that I needed to "hydrojet" the line.  By this time, they had me completely broken down, so I agreed...the price was $750 for the main drain, and another $150 for the kitchen drain.  When this was all done, they told me that I needed to have my septic tank pumped because of all the grease, even though I had done that less than a year before.  I told them that I had a regular guy who could do that, and they backed off.  They finally left, telling me that I should have them come out and inspect my drain at least once a year.

I felt like a little old woman who had just been cheated by an unscrupulous auto mechanic.  I was manipulated and overcharged.   Years ago, when I had a local guy come out and snake that drain, he charged me $45 for basically the same result.
