    Sears Appliance Repair
Not well. I contacted Sears Appliance Repair and told them that our Kenmore freezer tripped the GCFI circuit in the garage when I plugged it in. They indicated that it could be repaired and that I should schedule a service appointment. When the technician arrived he stated that the freezer was tripping the GCFI circuit and we needed to install a separate circuit. This was something that we already knew. The technician proceeded to insist on his $99 service fee. We paid the fee but then spent the following 2 weeks requesting our money back without success. We will avoid using this service and purchasing Sears (kenmore) products in the future.

Told me had a bad evaporator and it was a big job and would probably cost $1900.00. When I questioned that pricing he called his boss , then said $1400.00 but if I paid cash it would be 1300.00.

Had the repair done by Box Appliance for $530.00.

If you want to be ripped off call Reliable.

Mr. Lew inspected my dishwasher first and found the problem, giving an estimate of repair in the amount of $480.00. When I said I thought that was a lot, he said, and quot; You're rich, you can afford it.and quot; I checked the amount of the part needed online and it did not exceed $150.00. Further research indicated this was a and quot;do it yourselfand quot; job, requiring only a screwdriver and approximating the time in labor to be 15 minutes. Next, he inspected my washing machine which had a leaky valve. He did repair this with a part he had on hand for $220.00. I believe the dishwasher estimate was incredibly excessive and was given due to the fact that I live in an affluent area. I am sure I was overcharged for the laundry repair, but I chalked that up to a learning experience on my part.

The refrigerator side of my side-by-side Sub Zero fridge/freezer was not getting very cold so called Gary to come check it out.  I left a message to call me and had to call a second time to get a response.  Gary came out the next day - a Saturday - very prompt.  He was nice and polite.  He charged $50 for a service call.  Looked at the fridge side without taking anything apart - simply turning the temperature dial and listening to see if it kicked on.  He then said it was old so probably should be replaced but he would go back and check on a part - possibly a thermostat and call me to let me know.  He then left after about 15 minutes total time.
I discovered a couple hours that he had actually turned the dial to OFF on my freezer side... NOT the refrigerator side.  Fortunately I caught it since the freezer side worked and was full of frozen food.  I never received a call back, in spite of a call to his number a couple days later to report the error and see if he had the part.
Very disappointed and will not use this company again.  Wasted $50.

    Steve's Appliance Service
He showed up on time, he figured out what was wrong with my dishwasher, he was polite/friendly, and he charged what he said he was going to charge.  On top of that, he told me he could fix the problem, but that it'd be expensive enough that if it were his dishwasher, he'd just replace it.
He's an honest man, so if something like this happens again, I'll be calling him.

    Steve's Appliance Service
He reviewed the issue with me on the phone in advance, arrived on time, inspected the dryer, Identified the problem (thermostat), had the part in the truck (because he thought he knew what the problem was after we discussed the issue on the phone and brought the part in hopes he was right and he was), gave some helpful suggestions on keeping the dryer in good running order, charged me a very reasonable price and off he went. Couldn't have been a better experience.

    Steve's Appliance Service
I emailed him and within five minutes he had called me back.My husban had forgotten to turn on the washer and he thought it had died. I told him the washer esasn't working and walked me through how to get the model number etc. He asked to try turning it on and said he'd call back in five minutes to see what happened. He called back and of course the washer was doing what it was supposed. He said to call me back the next day if something didn't work. Three loads later it was still working of course so I called him to cancel. Very responsive and an absolute professional. I will definitely be calling on him when my washer really does die.

First American Fiance recommended TriValley Home Improvement to fix my dishwasher., THey came out and said that we had a faulty pump. They ordered the part and said they would call to make an appointment when it arrived.  They ended up calling to say it was going to take a few extra days to be delivered. We set up an appointment anyway with a 4 hour window. They called 30 minuets outside this window and said they couldn't show up. We rescheduled for two more appointments, neither of which they showed up to.

    Steve's Appliance Service
Called Steve and he picked up himself. I selected him based on very good online reviews. It was clear this was HIS business and I would be seeing him, not some new-hire lackey on the payroll. He called to confirm appointment and told me he'd probably be a little early(!). He in fact ran a bit late, so I dinged him just a bit on score for this, no one is perfect. But...he called to advise, so he's pretty close. Identified problem quickly and quoted me about half of what the Sears tech, in the week before, did. No brainer. Prompt, courteous, and very reasonable. Would definitely recommend Steve to friends or family.

    Steve's Appliance Service
I called Steve, he responded with-in 1 hour (wow!!!). He knocked-off about $30. because I had the fridge pulled out, and the back off. He said that it saved him time so he passed that on to me. He had the problem determined with-in 5 minutes and ordered the replacement part. He then turned to the oven and determined what that problem was in about 2 minutes, and ordered the parts. He returned the next day to install the parts, and with-in 20 minutes had both appliances running. Steve was very friendly and informative about what he was doing, why, and the least expensive way to proceed. He always called ahead so you could be ready for him when he arrived. Shortly after he left my home, and bulb in the fridge went out (great timing-why did it not do that while he was there), so I called him to see if he had a bulb as I was not sure it was something I could get at the hardware store, or it would have to be special ordered. He told me to meet him at the gas station down the street from me, and he would sell me a light bulb for $6 bucks-and no service charge. I thought that was pretty cool, and I would definately hire him again, and recommend him to a friend or neighbor.
