  • They were very helpful (indeed indulgent) with our decision about paint color and brought large pieces of boards with the colors we were considering so that we could compare in different lights.  Aside from some  delays due to weather, the job progressed steadily and the results are excellent.  They also cleaned up on a regular basis and took the painting equipment elsewhere to clean instead of getting paint washings on our yard.  The results were beautiful and a tribute to t he skill of the crew and their constant attention to detail.

  • It went very well.  It took about ten days, and I had to be out of the house for those ten days, which was a pain.  But they tried to accommodate my schedule and needs as much as possible.  They arrived between 8:00 and 8:30, and were gone between 3:30 and 4:00.  The house was left as tidy as possible each afternoon.  When the system was fully installed they made sure both my husband and I knew how to work the controls, and came back several times to see if we had any questions or needed any help.  They didn't even give us a bill until they were sure we understood the system and were happy.  The bill was exactly the amount of the estimate. The controls are very easy to understand and operate.  And it was heaven being cool this summer.  We know that we can call Bishop Heating & AC any time for help, and they will come out.  It is this confidence that makes us extremely happy with our decision.

  • I thought he was very knowlegable and and efficient. 
    Robert arrived shortly after calling to confirm the address.  He went about his business quickly and efficiently,  explaining to me what he was doing at each step. 1st he tested the oven by turning it on.  ( I had aleady removed to door and the bottom pan of the oven so he access the burner and the igniter.) After satisfing himself that the oven indeed do not light up, he tested the igniter, dicovering that it was only only putting out 2.3 amps instead of the 3+ amps it should be.  He explained that it just wasn't heating up enough to open the valve and let the gas into the burner.  After turning it off and letting it cool a few seconds, he removed and old ignighter, adapted the replacement he brought (by removing the connector, stripping the wires enough to make a good conetion with the wiring in the stove) and connected the new one.  Testing the oven again from resulted in the oven lighting up almost immediately/
    That went so well I asked him to look at the ice maker on our refregerator/freezer.He first checked to see if it was "calling for water". He said it was so he removed the tube from the back that carries the water from the intake to the ice maker.  He quickly discovered that the water inlet tube was completely frozen solid, running under hot water, he cleared the ice and put it back together.  He was very professional in his approach to the problem.
    To be fair--I have no way to gage if what he charged was the going rate, and therefore reasonable. I dont often call for repairs. He charged $86 for coming to the house and diagnosing the problem with the stove.  Another $86 (to pay for the part and the labor)  for replacing the ignighter. $44 for diagnosing the ice maker and $44 for the service required to fix it.  It took under an hour to complete both repairs.
    As I said, I have no basis for judgment about price--but he was very efficient and I was happy with his work.

  • I visited Tom's Carpet Servce with a sample of the modular carpet we wanted to install.  They could not get that particular carpet, but showed me books of other carpets they could.  They invited me to take the books home to see if there was another carpet we might like as well.  We found another, and they came out to measure our living room, dining room and hallways.  I paid a deposit and they ordered the carpet.
    The installer showed up bright and early on October 11th to install the living room and dining room carpet.  Unfortunately, the hallway carpet had not been ordered due to a misunderstanding.  I called to have that ordered.  The living room and dining room were done and looked great.  No big mess for me to clean up, and no glue smell, either. 
    When the hallway carpet squares arrived, the installer was there on time again.  This installation was done very quickly, and he left the extra squares for us as requested. 
    We were very happy with the quality of the work, and the way our house was left - no mess and no smell.  Our carpet was expensive, but it was worth every penny.  I would have anyone else do the job.

  •  The overall installation went very well and I'm very pleased with their quality of service. Besides being very friendly, the quality of work and professionalism was excellent.

    I didn't appreciate that the Monitor stove would adjust how much heat it would output, based on how far off the current room temperature was in relation to the set temp. Unlike a forced air furnace, this heater keeps the room a more constant temp. I REALLY like that aspect of it.

    I should mention that I had been using a wood stove to heat the house in previous years. Let alone is kerosene SO much easier and less maintenance on my part, the overall cost was slightly less than what I was paying for the olive or walnut hardwood. My only regret is that I didn't switch to kerosene years ago.
