    Paid $65 to get an estimate to change an inverter board on a GE Monogram fridge. I confirmed with the repairman that the part on Amazon was correct at $125. His estimate was $475 plus another $200 if he had to change the control board. I said if the part costs about $125, then you are charging $350 for less than an hours work and he said they charge by the job. Angie's List shows a 20 percent off for labor which he did not include.

    I originally contacted Dr. Fix for a proposal to address poor kitchen ventilation in two rental units. Alex from Dr. Fix responded immediately and showed up on time for our same day appointment. He walked me through all of the options. He clearly understood the challenges of making upgrades to an old 1929 building. Alex is a smart, honest business person. He recommended a simple but effective solution -- a solution that wouldn't make him tons of money, but that made the most sense. He earned my trust. During his visit, two of my tenants approached me with repair needs (this always seems to happen). Thankfully, Alex had the skill to immediately address four or five repairs on the spot, saving me from having to schedule my handyman. Alex did a superior job on those tasks. He informed me that Dr. Fix does a variety of home repairs and remodeling projects, not simply appliance installation. If you need something done at your home or rental property, I'd call Dr. Fix to see if they handle it. The service and professionalism is top notch.

    He was on time! He showed me what was wrong and how he was fixing the problem. He was very good at explaining things and was honest about the condition of both my appliances. I will definitely call on Lerman Appliance again when I have a problem.

    We have had this home warranty for two years. We have had problems with literally every service request. First, there are the interminably long hold times on the phone. Next, there are the incompetent repairmen they send. Finally, there is the horrible customer service at AHS coupled with many times you end up having to pay another $100 to get someone out to actually fix the problem. Don't be fooled - you will spend way more money on the warranty and the $100 service calls then you would on your own using Angie's List.

    GREAT. Leonid said that the control board that ran the fan for our system was burnt out, and possibly the motor. He recommended only replacing one at first, to see if that would fix the problem. otherwise the repairs would be very expensive. He explained what he was doing, each step of the way. I appreciated being brought into the process so I could undertstand the risks and what I was paying for. He was clear in his explanations, considerate, professional and prompt.

    They tried four times to fix the freezer portion of the refrigerator. They were unable to repair it, but they refunded all my money, so I'm pleased with my experience working with them. I don't blame them, I blame the manufacturer of the fridge.

    Requested speedy service and got it, the next day.
    The repairman was on time & fully equipped - so that he could replace those afflicted parts, such  as come in a drum glide replacement kit.
    Got a senior discount and an Angie's List discount too.
    The repairmen explained what he was doing, showed me the parts that were removed and replaced - worked quickly, cleanly, and was pleasant to boot.
    If every home service provider were like Lerman Appliances, my guess is Angie's List  would be unnecessary. Until then...  I found Lerman's through Angie's List - and I'm grateful.

    Alex is a true professional.  He quickly diagnosed the problem, one motor was shot so he ordered a new one and returned about a week later to install.  I was afraid I would have to replace the entire aging unit so was relieved he could repair it.
    So Cal Central Vacuum will be my go to vac repair service from now on.

    It did not go well at all. The worker was very strange.  I was in the kitchen with the worker and he became very nervous, I began to ask questions and asked to look at the part.  The worker would not show it to me and became very belligerent with me and left.  So he came back and was really rude and said I asked to many questions.  He replaced the part but then we began to smell gas in the house after it and called the gas company and they stated that the stove was now releasing aldehydes and stated that we could not use the oven.

    Great.  In fact, better than great. Joseph explained everything to me while he did the work.  He is extremely intelligent and really cares about doing a good job. He is a gem.  I feel so fortunate to have found him.  He is going to restore our old but wonderful Viking stove.  I would say he is one of the most conscientious repairmen we've had working at our house, after 25 years of living here.  I whole-heartedly recommend!
