    Pedro Lopez Landscaping
Pedro Lopez has been my gardener/handyman for 12 years. He worked with many construction companies and for the past three years has set up his own landscaping business. He does excellent work and has maintained my 100 roses, ornamental trees, bougainvillea, and other plants beautifully--he fertilizes the plants, lawn, and roses with organic fertilizers, prunes my trees, and provides great maintenance. He is pleasant and easy to work with, and listens carefully to what you want. If you need further info, contact me at dprzybyl88@gmail.com.

    CEF Contractors
The work was done by Curt and his lead carpenter. They were highly professional and they made excellent suggestions for how to improve on the original design of the deck that was being replaced. Work was done in timely manner despite periodic rain which forced them to work on the weekends in order to stay on schedule.

    Barney's Handyman Service
Fabulous! Barney is the BEST handyman I have ever worked with and I wholeheartedly recommend him. He is highly professional and produces high quality work. He is very responsive, clear about what his services entail, and is attentive to the details that matter in solving problems or addressing any issues that arise. He has a strong aesthetic sense which is important to me and makes his work stand out as very accomplished and of excellence. Nothing needed to be redone or fixed again - he gets it right the first time and his work endures. The problem is fixed. It took me a very long time to find a handyman that I felt I could trust, had highly honed skills, and was an easy person to work with and so I was thrilled to find Barney. He is a gem!

    Green Bay Remodeling Inc
Project manager Zac Kielpley had everything mehicudeoundy planned and executed and had his crew come on time and perform excellently; foreman  Victor did with worth while crew to our complete satisfaction and head- painless Edwardo did interior painting (living room) and succeeded in treating the walls - damaged redwood cleaning to their old beauty. Great job!

Feraru & Associates Building & Design Inc
Sorin was a pleasure to work with. He was always prompt and responsive from the first day I called him to getting the final count approval on the project. He is very knowledgeable, and manages the project in an organized fashion. He is easy to talk to and is never condescending. The quality of the work is very good - the deck looks great. I would recommend Feraru & Associates to anyone looking for a customer centric, honest, and capable contractor.

    Crowworks Construction
Their quality work Crowworks brings is truly outstanding. They are true craftsman who take enormous pride in their work, and do whatever is necessary to make things perfect. Not to mention Crow's unstoppably positive attitude and legendary joke-of-the-day to look forward to every morning. During the design process, Crow can be a real out-of-the-box thinker, but also treats it as a completely collaborative process that's ultimately about making the client 100% happy. He's always been flexible and receptive to changes along the way. Where this meant additional cost, he's always been very upfront and clear. We've all heard all the nightmare stories of contractors that can't set expectations. Crow has given accurate estimates with every project - almost to the day. Very few people can handle everything from highly artistic design & sculpture, to the more mundane such as bathroom tile selection, and actually execute it flawlessly. Overall, I would 100% recommend Crowworks for your design and contracting needs, especially for anything leaning towards the artistic end of the spectrum.

    HDR Remodeling Inc.
We made a great decision in choosing HDR!

With both of us working full-time, we knew that we needed to find a company that was reputable and could manage all aspects of the project.  Lucky for us we found HDR, a design/build firm, to handle everything from beginning to end.  We started with a thorough design phase which lasted nearly 4 months and though lengthy, I'm so glad we did it that way; having the majority of decisions made in advance really took the surprise element out of the construction phase and we were able to really nail down the budget as a result.  As with all old houses, you don't know what you're going to find once you get behind the walls, but luckily for us our contingency was more than enough to deal with the various problems that popped up (e.g., wiring, dry rot, bad sub-flooring).

HDR also handled all of our permitting and inspections throughout the project.  They were especially helpful when we encountered a sticky situation with our next door neighbor who didn't want us to build the deck for fear it would compromise their view.  Kevin, HDR's architect, was extremely helpful by altering the design and working with the neighbor directly to come to a solution that would work for both of us.

HDR was very communicative through the entire project - we met every Friday morning to talk about what had happened that week and what was coming up, and they were responsive to our concerns.  The subs were all top notch and the HDR carpenters were excellent. I have zero complaints about the quality of the work - I love our house again!

As with any remodeling effort, we had our ups and downs  (we lived downstairs with our large dog for the duration of the project, adding something extra to the experience).  The construction phase lasted about 5 months, which is plenty of time to be frustrated, annoyed, and just tired of having people in your house.  But I can say today that we're happier than we've ever been here and that the 9 months we spent with HDR were entirely worth it.  We're so happy, in fact, that we're already talking about having them back next year to remodel the rest of the house.

    Cal Preserving
Unfortunately this ended in a negative way.  The provider, Bruce, was unable to let me know when he was going to do the decks.  It was more of a "When we're in the area" kind of appointment, which did not work for us.  I asked for a particular date, with a willingness to be flexible on the time he was to show, however, my email was met with a response of "Is there a reason you need to be there when we do the work?.....We typically do jobs when the customer is not there?"
To which I responded in kind, ...... "My request for a timeframe simply put, it's my job.  I run the full schedule for the company and the owner and while I may not have to be there, I need to know who will be and how to schedule everything else around their visit."

I do not think that my request was unreasonable, however, the tone of the conversation seem to convey that Bruce did not appreciate my need to narrow down a date/time and was upset that I had asked such a thing.

We have gladly moved on to another provider and I am very pleased with not only the way they conduct business, but also their flexibility and understanding of what we need, even suggesting options that we had not considered. Every person I have been in contact with has been pleasant, has called or sent emails with information as promised and has called to check in and see how things were going..if we needed anything else.  I have even received texts on a particular persons day off just to see how I was doing. Complete and total customer care and ownership to the nth degree.
Please feel free to email me for the company name and I will gladly pass it on.

    M&M Construction & Home Design
I was very hopeful given the reviews and the description of this as a family business. So far it hasn't gone well .. My initial call on Thursday was taken by a 'call centre' style person who said she would 'forward it' to a technician and I would receive a call back. I didn't .. I tried again on Friday, this time the lady booked me in a 10-12pm slot today (Saturday) for a (nameless) contractor to come out and give me an estimate. At 9.45 she called to say he wasn't available. I said given I'd put plans on hold I'd prefer it if he could come even if it was later than planned. She rang back 2 hours later to say he wasn't sure if he could get to me before it was dark, but she had passed on my number. I asked if I could also take his name and number. She said no. I pressed, explaining I was worried about being left in the lurch not knowing if I could go out or not. She said she'd ask Mr X and get back to me. Needless to say I never heard from her or Mr X today ...
