  • Matt was very courteous ... gave us a call before arriving.  Came on time.  Very knowledgeable, very friendly.  Tested to confirm the problem before proceeding.  Took care to protect our floor and carpeting. Explained what he had to do and why.  Replaced the pressure sensor located at the bottom of the dishwasher.  Tested the unit twice before pushing it back "just in case".Carefully replaced the unit, tested it again to make sure moving it back in didn't cause a problem.  Gave us good tips on maintenance.  We very much appreciated his high quality service and called the Gourmet Appliance store to let them know what a good job Matt did and thank them.

  • Nice selection, but if you read reviews on yelp you will know that you have to be cautious when purchasing from this store.  It's a small operation - the general manager is also the sales person.  Very nice while shopping but after you have purchased do not expect any professionalism.  I don't know if it's a cultural thing, but he has no sense of "satisfying the customer".  Furniture delivery is only Fri and Sat - I was ok with that, but I did not know that the delivery could be as late as 9pm.  I had plans and expected delivery to be complete by 5pm.  Called to reschedule and he said this was not possible - went downhill from there. He would not budge - eventually, my husband got involved - the general manager said he would try to get the delivery moved up, but would never give us a guarantee. In the end, the delivery was made at 4 pm but was definitely not worth the hassle.  Hope we don't have any issues with the furniture!

  • Things started out well when I inquired about the specific dishwasher model. They had it in stock and sent a installer to the house the same day. When the installer arrived, I noticed some of the packaging seemed open, and the free rinse-aid which is suppose to accompany the "congratulations on your new Kitchen Aid dischwaher" insert was no where to be found. The installers who are sub-contractors of Davies charged about $160 to install the dishwashers. A screw they used to secure the dishwasher in the counter top was too large and did slight damage to the top inside of the dishwasher door. I noticed this after a few days, so I removed the screw. That night, when I went to load the dishwasher, I noticed the dishwasher door did not open all the way and sit at a 90 degree angle. The bottom rack of dishes would roll back into the dishwasher as I loaded it. I called Rick from Davies and he told me to call Kitchen Aid repair. I was a little bummed that a one-day-old dishwasher which cost me $1400 dollars had to be repaired, but I called Kitchen Aid. When I was on the phone with Kitchen Aid, I asked them about the manufacture date of the dishwasher. I was starting to think I was not sold a completely new dishwasher. Kitchen Aid told me in was manufactured in early 2009. A&E repair, a Kitchen Aid sub-contractor came out several days later. They said there was insulation stuck in one of the hinges and charge $141 for the service call...for a dishwasher less than a week old. I called Rick at Davies and he said that I shouldn't have to pay for the charges, but instead of refunding the money, he said he would talk to his Kitched Aid rep. In the weeks which followed, I called Rick a dozen times. He always said he was waiting on the Kitchen Aid rep. In the end, I don't believe he ever tried getting my money back. He strategy was to just wait me out--and it worked. Did Davies sell me a used dishwasher as new? These dishwashers are suppose to be super quite. Reviewers have said they can't even hear their dishwashers running. I hear mine quite well.

  • They tried to sell me a more expensive brand when I did not specify on 2 items. When I inquired they did make the change but felt they tried to take advantage of me. When they notified us our order was ready for delivery I had to schedule the delivery out 4 weeks but I had specified this at time of ordering. The night before delivery we were notified of delivery time and at this point was told one of the major items was not there. It took 2 more days to determine that not only couldn't they find the item but their supplier didn't have any in stock. Our remodel needed the item in a week. They could not get the item for 3 weeks. I had to call all over the bay area to find a place that stocked the item and it cost me considerably more. Shades of Expo, if you ever dealt with them. In the future I will continue to deal with local, small businesses that have satisfied our needs in the past. It takes more leg work but prices were generally the same. I got caught up in one-stop-shopping. I will confess that they did refund my money which their sales receipts states clearly that they do not have to do. Their sales receipts are also difficult to read but when I complained to the headquarters they said they are working on upgrading their billing system.

  • When I went to the store, I spent some time on my own looking at the showroom models. Then Warren at Telecenter spent time with me describing the features of the various appliances that I expressed an interest in. In some instances, he gave his opinion on the merits of a model over another. He explained manufacturer's rebates; delivery; connections; disposal fees, etc. Warren gave a quantity discount because of the multiple purchases that I made. Overall, I found Warren to be knowledgeable, attentive, and responsive. After I had purchased the fridge, I changed my mind about the model I wanted. Warren worked with me to ensure that I got the fridge that I wanted. It cost more than my original choice, but it works better with my kitchen layout. My goods were delivered in two trips (per my request) and Sergio and his partner were punctual, friendly, clean and fast.

  • Sofa was good quality and reasonably priced. However, when the sofa was delivered, we incurred substantial damage due to the delivery -- including a grapefruit size hole in our wall. This company refused to pay for the extensive damage and did not return our calls.

  • They were very helpful in finding out what we wanted and what our budget was. They delivered what we ordered on time and were very careful of our house while installing the fridge.
