    Redding Endoscopy Center
We are so impressed by this facility. It's so professional yet you feel like you're being cared for by family. Showing up for your appointment you are informed of everything insurance and billing wise. The nurses do all the vitals and the anesthesiologist comes in and checks your vitals and discusses the procedure and answers any questions you have. Then Dr Reddy comes in and checks your vitals and also discusses your history and explains the procedure and answers any concerns. When the procedure is complete you recover for a time and are offered something to drink and have nurses checking on you frequently. Dr Reddy comes in and goes over the results and makes any recommendations for ongoing diet and care. The next day you get a follow up call to make sure you're feeling okay. The office calls a week later to ask if there were any concerns and if they could do anything different to make the procedure more comfortable.

I guess no one really looks forward to a colonoscopy....the worst part actually was the anticipation. The office provide me with the information and let me know exactly what I needed. They were very caring and professional. This all helps in any procedure. There isn't a finish yet. I now need to go to SF for an EMR to have a benign sessile polyp removed. So more anticipation....but I am glad I had a colonoscopy and will be super glad when my next procedure is over. These people and the Endoscopy center were great.

Dr. Liu ordered an upper GI  and I have not had that yet.  I don't have a strong opinion in favor or disfavor of Dr. Liu.  The appointment went fine.  He answered my questions.  I was disappointed that I couldn't get into Dr. Spinka, who has been practicing for many years.  Dr. Liu is young and doesn't have as much experience.

They only offer profolol (they do not offer twilight) as a sedative when doing their procedures. As a result, Blue Cross does not pay for the anesthesia or will only count it toward the deductible....So you have a $200 -300 expense for a preventative procedure. So do your homework....there are several locations in Redding that do offer twilight and it has a better chance of being covered by your insurance. Although, they have you sign a waiver up front, they were a little disingenuous (sneaky) about the fact that Blue Cross does not cover it at all...and you will have to pay.
