    Lighthouse Painting Contractors Inc
Updated my review. Our start was a bit rough, but Nick works hard to make his customers happy and I appreciate that, even for a small job. After a late appointment and cancelled work date, Lighthouse Painting met my tight deadline by starting the job at 6 am. Their pricing was the most competitive, the quality of work is good, and the painters are professional. His team caulked and painted my baseboards, painted a fireplace, and sanded and painted a wood wall in 6 hours. Thanks Lighthouse!

    CNA Partners
Now that our large scale remodeling project is completed, we dont have anything to write or say other than good words that can describe our experience with CNA Partners. Our remodeling project was a large one and it included basically the entire house. They remodeled the kitchen, bathrooms, living room, garage, laundry room, bedrooms and more the whole remodeling project was finished completely about 3 weeks ago and we now moved in to our house. Moshe who was our main guy and our project manager, started the work with many meetings in which he wanted to understand our vision, budget, dreams and more after that, he than designed the 3D plans of the entire spaces so we can get a clear vision on how everything will look like. After we finalized the plans, Moshe brought all his crew to start the work. The remodeling work went smoothly and without any major problem. Everything went according to the plan while all the problems that came up during the work, were handled professionally by the team of people. Now that we moved back to the house, we are still in the process of understanding that we got our dream house and we are so happy with everything they did for us. CNA partners crew have been nothing but super professional, honest, hardworking people and punctual. We cant wait to see how everything turns out!

    Amazing Closets
I've never been so disappointed and angry with a company before. They came to our house to install a basic custom closet for our nursery - Joe came out to look at the space, sent us a beautiful design which we approved, we negotiated the price, which came out to about $250 less than the other quotes we received, we quickly scheduled the installation within a few weeks and everything was great. Until the closet was installed. We had existing rods and shelves that needed to be taken out before the new closet was installed and the installers ripped them out so viciously they left huge holes in the wall. They filled them with plaster and left it to dry. It's our fault we agreed to pay for the crappy job, but after numerous calls and complaints Dee agreed to offer us free backings for one part of the closet. Because a closet that's half done and the other half plastered is a solution??? She said they don't offer sanding and painting and that no closet company will do that, that it is up to us to find a painter or do the fix ourselves. Also they never put in their initial notes that any demo and patching would have to be done and it was not discussed with us at any point in time. So I was SHOCKED when I saw the "finished" job. Pictures attached for reference. Anyway, we reached out to a painter we've worked with for years and he would need to sand, prime and re-paint the ENTIRE closet because of how bad the demo job was before they put in the closet. After all is said and done it's costing us more to work with Amazing Closets than it would have to have hired a more reputable and established company like Closet World. But that's on us. What's crazy to me is that after I called and spoke to Dee and explained my frustration to her, instead of offering a better solution she just said "sorry for the inconvenience" and hung up on me. Yea I'm sorry too. Moral of the story - you get what you pay for. And this company doesn't care to do right by their customers and be accountable for their own mistakes. Also, the quality of the materials isn't so great either.

    Top Home Remodeling
This was the first time I worked with a women as a contractor. Lee was very detailed oriented. My wife pick the design and Lee walk us to the showroom and the tile store. She had a lot of patience to show us the different types of cabinets and counter tops explaining the advantages of granite and quartz. My wife and I are very happy with the results. We will hire them in the future.

    Ratoviz Construction
This was a difficult and stressful renovation. More stressful than you can imagine. Ron is a charmer and is the best sales men I ever encountered. He said the right things, and always said what we wanted to hear, "My mission is to make you happy!" he uttered with a cheek to cheek smile. But, why did you take our project manager away? And give us your wife Elena and her friend to look over our project, mid way through our renovation? Then he took our foreman. Yes, you are reading this correctly.. The new project managers Elena, and her friend could not keep up with what had been ordered or what we had been paid for. They thought we were changing the entire house floor, but we were only changing the kitchen floor, and that was because Ron said we had to. In order to change the plumbing in the kitchen, he had to take out the concrete under the floor. I said it's not concrete, it is wood. It's still difficult and must be done. Sadly everything went wrong. Everything they ordered was measured, or ordered erroneously. Elena, installed the complete opposite floor than the one I chose, the color totally clashing with the rest of the home. And everything was ordered wrong. When I finally realized that Elena and her friend were un organized or inept? I hired a very expensive project manager, and then later just started supervising and buying the workers materials myself. Yes, I paid DOUBLE what I was told I would have to pay, and in more than DOUBLE the time. I was having to go buy supplies for the workers, who were not being given materials. Essentials such as water proofing, nails, screws. Later I learned that the wife Elena in charge was the "designer" as well as the accountant, and when I stood my ground that nothing was to be installed without my permission, she had the office cut me off. No communication. I did not know the quantity of marble they ordered. How much matte finish marble which was supposed to be for the floor and how much polished which was to be for the walls. Elena decided to order polished for the floors, which is unsafe when wet, and matte for the walls. I had to go to vendor myself and return the polished for matte. The vendor said Double Oak kept sending the order back as is, with the small quantity of polished for the floor. They are in construction, they must know polished marble is dangerous when wet? And if I want to trade out the polished for the matte, what gives Double Oak the right to say no, you are keeping the polished, when the vendor themselves are ok with the making it all matte marble? It really seemed like Elena was now playing a power trip with me. How un-professional. She must have had her feelings hurt when I did not let her install any more things, other than the dark floor she installed against our light, yellow toned cherry hardwood. I had sent them the email and contact name of the vendor and the kind of floor I wanted for the kitchen, and I was within the budget Ron gave me for the floor. There was no excuse.. Even though we paid triple what is normal for the floor, Elena must have wanted to save money per square foot, or why would she care what floor we installed? I spoke to my husband who did not believe they could possibly be doing all that I claimed. So when Ron called one night late at night saying we had asbestos, and he had called the asbestos company to take it out early the NEXT morning. Something did not feel right. Of course we would have to pay for it. The room had been in demolition for months, the tile was visible underneath, why did he not have it tested? No, he just sent a photo months later, (maybe he had not seen it at every walk through) but now he claimed we had asbestos. We hired a licensed pro tester for asbestos, who tested the glue, the tile, the vinyl, and all came back negative, then he tested the air and ALL the asbestos tests came back NEGATIVE. We received a 50 page report on the material they tested, and a 3 page report on the air they tested. NO ASBESTOS. Boom, I could NOW prove to my hubbie that this was predatory behavior. One month which is what we were promised turned into 5 months. The office (managed by the Elena which I already mentioned is Ron's wife, controlled the money and is also the "designer") started sending the workers with no materials. The office refused to confirm measurements of windows and then tried to install the awkward shaped windows, honestly it was weird. The office would not respond to written requests for just information, of items they had ordered such as faucets, vanities etc. I started ordering myself, so we would not be any more delayed. We did end up with DOUBLE some of the accessories. They truly are lucky I did not sue them for Intentional infliction of emotional distress. It was a brutal experience. I did filed a claim with the State License Board. I would have had no problem going to arbitration to recover some of the money they double charged us, or go to court, but we felt we didn't want to see them again, or indulge in negativity. We chose to move on, and are much happier with all the OTHER contractors we have hired, to finish and to add on our project. I am reviewing Double Oak simply because the office felt so entitled to install what Elena wanted, and that is not acceptable, especially when I had already spent hours online researching the things I wanted to install and some I had paid for. When the foreman mentioned to me, that he told Elena that he would NOT install that loud cheap ventilator (she wanted installed in our home) in his own house, I knew there was a problem. Installing things I had not seen.. I stopped them numerous times from continuing. Cheap does not always save you money. Unhappy customers cost a lot more, you are better off doing the right thing always and spending 50 dollars more on a quiet fan, than attempting to install the loudest cheapest one available. Especially when you are charging your customers twice, on the famous Double Oak spread sheet. Ron also promised a door that he did not order, but said he did. Ahead of the game, I did not wait for it, they had been so undependable, I knew he had not ordered it. And I found a perfect door elsewhere in a day. I also ended up ordering the windows and picking them up, etc. My life as I knew it ended and my life became buying materials, ordering things and delivering.. For an expensive reno, you would think those things should be done by the company.. Honestly, I think since we paid 80 percent including the add ons, in the first 3 weeks, that Double Oak wanted us to fire them.. The foreman saved our butt. He got a nice tip.

    ABSOLUTE REMODELING INC
In a word, outstanding! Claudio came to us when a major leak was discovered in our upstairs bathroom, causing damage to 3 adjacent rooms. Claudio assessed the real extent of the problems, provided a range of solutions, and guided us every step of the way. Claudio was the ultimate professional, totally knowledgeable, and very patient with us and the insurance company. The work was started on time and completed as promised. He kept us informed at every step of the way, and managed his team personally. Most important, the results were spectacular! I will use him again, and recommend him without reservation.

    Ashler Fireplace and Chimney
Mike and his team at Ashler Fireplace and Chimney are exceptional! We purchased a direct vent gas fireplace to install in our mid century modern home. We purchased the unit but had trouble finding a contractor that could manage the detailed installation required -- additional supports in the attic, a steel frame and non combustable chase, then a custom modern looking hearth. We had a photo of what we wanted the finished install to look like.....and not much else. Mike and his team came in and managed the process, and us, like pros. Every detail was considered, they took great care to protect the house from debris and dust during construction and the final project looked exactly as we had hoped for. Mike's knowledge of the fireplace unit and construction considerations were above and beyond, we felt in great hands for the entire experience!

    Fidelity Builders and Design
Tal Mechaly and his crew of painter were amazing. Our project was basically to gutted our kitchen and bathrooms at the new house that we purchased. Everyone arrived to work each day in the morning and worked full days BUT mainly Tal Mechaly stayed at his estimate price. Tal Mechaly is a real professional and he showed us a lot of respect and clarified everything related to the remodeling project while answering all of our questions. The kitchen and bathrooms were gutted and rebuild as brand new ones and his design was based on our needs and requirements. On top of that, they painted the inside and outside of the house, installed new wood floor, closed a wall, installed new light fixtures with wifi options, installed new locks and hardware to all the doors, built a pantry that we really wanted and more things that we decided not to keep mentioning here in this review. Tal Mechaly is a man of his word, professional and easygoing person. We dont know where in Los Angeles or any other location I could find someone at this high level of professionalism.

    IND Construction Inc
At a moment when we were just about to seriously start looking for a contractor to renovate the kitchen in our old home, we found IND Construction from Yelp. That was 2-1/2 years ago & we have used Mike & IND Construction on a number of renovation projects both in our old home & new home. Mike & his team are very open about work to be done, potential issues that might surface & able to work within the bounds of our budget(s) & timeline(s). Some of those potential issues did arise during our kitchen remodel but Mike & his team were able to work with us on the right solution for the quality, budget & timeline. I was traveling internationally during this time & getting in touch with Mike during this time was not a problem. They make sure everything is to code & I was truly amazed at how they were able to keep city inspectors on schedule especially with the numerous bad/horror stories I've heard about city inspectors from friends & neighbors. Because of their great work in our old home, we were not only very happy with the result but we also got much over our asking price when we sold it. In our new home, we're continuing current renovation & future projects discussions to make our new house feel even more like home. I can truly say that fate is a funny guy as he introduced us to Mike within hours of my wife & I finally deciding we needed a contractor. I would absolutely recommend IND Construction, Mike & any of his team to anyone looking for a top notch, to-code renovation project

    Ratoviz Construction
Double Oak was professional and helpful throughout the process. They really did a great job, gave us ideas to help us save money and stay within our budget. They exceeded our expectations for quality of their work and how easily (at least it seemed so) they did the work in the time we had. The new bathroom was gorgeous, with a complete new shower stall. The laundry room remodel and back yard landscaping made this home a beautiful MODEL. The home sold for $10,000 more than we had planned and it helped make a sad, sometimes contentious situation with divorced owners, a win-win for all parties involved. Thank you Double Oak Construction!
