She brought a lot of value to my experience at LSU, because she kept my perspective in check when it came to work-life balance (something I had never had trouble with at the job I had worked prior to going back to school).   • I called for a delivery from Ballard to Richmond Beach on a Friday morning. The owner, Rod, said they could do it around noon. I needed an inside delivery as opposed to a garage-to-garage delivery. Rod quoted me $100 for a base garage-to-garage delivery fee + an extra $50 for inside delivery. Since I was pressed for time, as it was already after 10am and I still had to go pay the seller for the item, I told him to schedule the delivery.
    After paying the seller and returning home, I looked on the DeliveryTechnicians.com website for some pricing information. Their website states the following: " Our Minimum Rate is $65. Minimum rate is for weekday delivery, from the sellers garage to your garage.  During normal working hours  (8am - 5pm, M-F).  It  includes pickup and delivery of your item and a 20 mile round trip from your home."
    Even though I met all of those conditions, I was charged $100 for a base delivery instead of $65. I asked Rod about it and he said he quotes different prices depending on when you want the service. I told him there was no mention of that on the website and I was getting the delivery on a Friday, at noon, and the total round trip was less than 20 miles. I met all of the conditions for the $65 base delivery fee. He said I should have said something about the quote when he sent it to me. I told him I had nothing to compare it to until I saw his website's pricing.
    So I paid $100 for the base delivery fee (not $65 according to the website) + an extra $50 to carry the treadmill into my living room. When the delivery guys arrived, before they unloaded the treadmill, they said they had talked to Rod and he told them something about me disputing the delivery price. They said if I didn't want to pay the $150, they would return the treadmill to the seller. I had already paid the seller for the treadmill, so I had no choice but to pay them.
    On a positive note, the delivery guys were great. They called to keep me updated on their status. Both guys are totally capable of delivering the heaviest merchandise, are really nice and very professional. The A-F ratings on this page are for Rod and his business practices - not the delivery guys.
    Overall I overpaid for the service. I won't recommend them to anyone without informing them about how Rod changes his prices according to when you call and when you need service. In the end, he could have changed this entire review to a positive one if he would have gone with what is stated on his website and reduced my base delivery fee to $65.

  • I bought a machine at the Goodwill that was from the 1940s and he made it like new.  It works like a dream now.  He is extremely knowledgeable.  He has been doing sewing machine repairs for over 40 years and knows machines really well.  He loves what he does so he does a good job.
