Drywall Repair reviews in Bakersfield

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Jeremy was a pleasure to have help us with painting the interior of our house. He was extremely punctual and reliable. He not only did a beautiful job painting, but also repaired wall damage, and helped us install and new air intake frame for our ac. He was also able to help us find other contractors that we were in need of. I definitely recommend him and would hire him again! 10 out of 10!

  • Mr McMahon’s work was first rate and FAST. Highest quality products. Amazing skill and speed. Very precise lines. Always left our home clean after each visit. Gave him the keys to our home with zero concerns. High integrity and professionalism.

  • I hired Bryson from these reviews. The bid included removal of wallpaper in dining area, removal of acoustic ceiling (they didn’t remove as contract stated they mudded over) and prep for paint, painting the whole house, refinish kitchen and house cabinets with a lacquer and staining, replace kitchen counter top and backsplash, replace all hanging doors including 3 pocket doors in the master bath, add LED can lights and bathroom fans. To be honest it is the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. The bid said sharp clean edges. There is paint on my carpet, there are runs and carry over on the trim (refused to use painter tape). They didn't order enough backsplash and then after expected me to pay hundreds more. Ended up filing a complaint with the state contractor’s license board. He only came back because of the complaint and did a walk through and offered to come back 8/13/18 and fix my concerns. He came back and I showed him that the paint was peeling off in the master bath. He said yea he knew they didn't prime the walls. It turns out latex paint doesn’t go over oil-based paint without primer (He should have known this and the crew he left to do the work). So, he spent 2 days on the master bath and screwed me on the rest of the complaint. After having 3 contract painters come in they were flabbergasted of the poor workmanship of this painter. Yes, this 5-star review contractor didn’t use primer in the semi-gloss rooms. So, one of the paint contractors took a credit card out and ran it down the wall and the paint peeled off the wall. The two contractors who came by found more bad work then I even noticed. Didn't even sand down the plaster you put up in the hall bathroom and just left it without painting, picture attached. The last couple of pictures are of the cabinet refinish. Nothing even matches. It looks cheap and not what we even asked for.

  • I have worked with Art for many years. He's the only person I would use for drywall issues. He knew I was in a bit of a hurry and brought a full crew(including himself) and arrived early in the morning. Had the job completed by noon. Has always done a great job.

  • Perfect, Rick and crew did an excellent job and we were very pleased with the quality of work. Everyone there went out of their way to please us and give us exactly what we wanted. they definitely deliver on all they said they would do!

  • Never heard back from him to do work. This is not the first review on this site where he has left customer high and dry (or in my case damp). He came out to see what the problem was, charged me $200 to clean debris off of roof. Spent about 30 minutes with him writing up for an estimate on the ceiling dry wall replacement that had gotten wet due to a leak and an extra kitchen remodel. Said I would get quote in 1-2 days and could do work that week. NEVER heard back from him. I reached out but got no response. Now my ceiling is starting to show mold.

  • We were so impressed with the quality of work and what a beautiful job this team did! The contractor quoted us a 4-week period to complete all the work and the team even finished a little sooner. The workers were punctual, respectful, very polite and courteous and cleaned up after each job. We loved the contractor! He was extremely good to work with and so accommodating to our needs. He was always on top of each project and we can't say enough wonderful things about him!! He and his company made it so easy for us to contact them and they would reply almost immediately, no waiting whatsoever to get a hold of someone. When starting this project we were apprehensive because of past bad experiences with other contractors who didn't honor what they said they would do and it would take months for them to complete a simple project!! Not with this contractor. He honors and respects his clients and keeps his word. We HIGHLY recommend him and the work he does--it's clean, precise, beautiful, of great quality, on time and with good products. Most importantly, the contractor is TRUSTWORTHY, which is rare!
  • Very prompt, polite, and friendly.  Checked in frequently to answer questions and verify what was needed.  All repairs completed well and price was reasonable.  Will definitely use again!  I was referred to this company by a satisfied neighbor who used them.

  • Repair stucco from plumbing replacement - Exterior 5 feet by 4 feet hole and 3 hose bibs, closed up, concreted, stucco, and paint to match. Painted whole wall or feathered in the painting. I cannot even tell the walls were damaged.

Patch plumbing holes inside in bathroom and kitchen at no extra cost. Again, I cannot even tell the walls were damaged.

Prep and paint master bathroom where I removed everything to make the job easier for them. Two colors with paint formula I provided. Sealed up all cracks. Painted all wall, cabinet, and door trim surfaces including ceiling and shower ceiling in one day.

Prep, sand, and seal wooden steps. Small deck. Used my product left from prior sealing. Simple job that saved me the time of and bending over to sand. So glad to have it added during the other work.

Ray and son, Nick, do the job like it is their own home. They appear to be very honest in what they can say and do. Beautiful work.

This is the second major job they did on my home, the first covered by the former homeowner to power wash the house, scrape, and paint eaves and trim.

The call for an estimate was responded to very timely. An appointment was scheduled timely. They showed up on time and provided a lot of information to aid in my scheduling of services. The estimate was provided by email per my request. I was able to adjust the estimate by email response until it was only the options I chose. Then I was able to sign to accept the estimate by scanning and emailing back.

My only complaint was in the scheduling process. I was using email rather than talking with Ray directly. I asked questions that went unanswered and was not sure exactly when the job would start, though I conveyed my first choice since I would be home all day for a variety of services that were scheduled. It turned out an oncoming rain storm prevented another scheduled job in the mountains so my job started on the day I was hoping for.

All my questions were answered by Ray before the work started. He adjusted his plans to meet my expectations to start the inside work on the first day. It turned out perfect since the storm prevented outside work by the early afternoon. They returned over the next week to complete the layering of the concrete on the wall and then apply the finish stucco layer and paint.

I trust Ray and Nick. Armor will always be the company I call when I need any stucco or interior/exterior paint work in the future.

  • Initial timeline was for 4 to 5 weeks for the remodel project. Total project was 8 weeks. My wife had to continuously call to find out when the contractor was going to be back to work on the cabinets, the flooring, the countertops, the painting, etc. Contractor would work for 2 or 3 hours and then go home and not return for days at a time. It felt like we were a side job. The contractor failed to pull a permit for the electrical work. This was discovered by an inspector who happened to be visiting my home to sign off the work done on a new solar panel installation (different project). When the inspector noticed that the kitchen remodel was under way, he asked the contractor for a copy of the permit and the contractor said that he didn't know that he needed one. This cost us an additional week delay in the project and was a bit disturbing. The contractor was also willing to leave holes in the sheetrock on the wall behind the cabinets and when we commented about the holes (baseball sized) he said that nobody would see them once the cabinets were installed. We argued that the holes weren't there when the old cabinets were installed and that they needed to be filled in prior to hanging the new cabinets. Regarding the quotation for the project: the contractor (owner of Stockdale Kitchen and Bath) told us during the prejob meeting to discuss pricing that he could do a granite countertop for between $1000 and $1500. He also said that it would cost another $1000 for a tiled back splash. Once the project was underway, we were told that the dollar figures didn't include material. We also found out after the project was underway that the contractor did not plan to paint the kitchen and didn't include that in the price. We had to pay additional for that to be done or else would have had to do the painting ourself. The finish work was not good and everywhere the cabinets mated up against a wall or ceiling, you could see crooked paint lines. This was because the contractor installed the cabinets before painted the walls and ceiling. Several of the cabinet shelves didn't line up and one of the lazy susans wouldn't open all the way because of hitting the adjacent stove. When it came time to install our new refrigerator, we literally had to force it into the cabinet opening because the contractor designed the opening for the exact width of the refrigerator. There is zero clearance on the sides of the refrigerator. Throughout the project, the communication was very poor on the part of the contractor. For each issue we raised regarding the quality of the work, the canned response from the contractor was that it was "industry standard". This coming from a man who bragged at the outset about how he went above and beyond what most other contractors do as far as quality work. The only thing that went right with this project was that the cabinets arrived on time and as ordered. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone.
