    $19 is the advertised cost for the check.price was changed to $69 once he was here. according to the tec changing the thermostat is tampering with the unit and so the addition cost ridiculous. the cost for a tune up is $39. how can he charge &69 just because i changed the thermostat?

    Worst experience with a contractor ever. We paid and nothing was finished. They tore our house up and left all the trash on the side of the house. They don���t return any communication. We turned them in to the state license board. Dean if you don���t finish the project I want a total refund of all money paid.

    When our A/C stopped blowing cool air on Saturday night of the heat wave Labor Day weekend, we panicked. We tried calling several A/C companies that supposedly had emergency service, but most didn't answer or didn't have any available appointments for a week or more. Fisher Air gave us an appointment for the next afternoon, and showed up when they said they would. Alan (the owner) diagnosed the issue with the capacitor in the condenser, replaced it with a heavier duty one that would last longer, and were back in business! Alan was really nice and professional. He really saved our weekend!

    They are ok but not the greatest. They quoted a price to fix something and them they talked me into buying a maintenance plan and I thought the plan would include them completing the fix and it did not. I had to pay additional money for them to come back and complete the fix. I was never really given the full price.  It wasn’t clear that I had to come up with additional money for me to complete the fix.  Their office is hard to reach sometimes.

    We did not like them. The reason we did not care for the work so much was because the last time they were there that we had them do something, they were trying to convince us that we had to completely replace the air conditioner which lasted another two years. I remember the incident. We did not say anything to them because it was later on that we figured it out, but we never talked to them about it. We just said we would never use them again. The work was okay. It was just some of the things that they said. They did good work. They were very responsive and punctual. As far as doing the work, they were professional. The experience itself was fine. It was just after we figured things out that we were kind of like we will never use them again.

    It went well. He was a very nice man who explained things to me and he was on time but he also spent time checking and troubleshooting. He could have told me any old stiory as I know nothing about air conditioning- but after a while, he discovered the problem.

    Technician arrived at 3pm for schedule service between 3pm - 5pm.  I like that!  Especially since we were waiting in the house without A/C.  He took ~ 10 min to assess issue and determined capacitor required replacement.  Replaced and started up system and waiting until cooling.  Checked filters and suggested replacement.  Completed service in one hour.  Said he would provide a quote for a new system as requested, however have not yet received.  No sales pitch, no negative comments regarding current system only positive.  Knowledgeable and efficient.  No complaints, will use again as needed.

    CHECKED AC UNIT/ INITIAL FEE $79.00 AND DETERMINED THAT THE COMPACTOR WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. REPLACED COMPACTOR FOR $130.00; INDICATED THAT AC UNIT DID NOT NEED REFRIGERANT AND WAS BASICALLY CLEAN.
    ALSO ADVISED THAT THE TUBING USED WHEN AC WAS INSTALLED (NOT BY GC) WAS NOT CHANGED FROM OLD UNIT TO NEW AND WHILE IT WAS FUNCTIONING, RECOMMENDED THAT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE IT BE CHANGED TO LARGER TUBING WHICH COULD INCREASE COST SAVINGS, ETC. WHEN ASKED FOR A COST ESTIMATE HE ADVISED APPROX $500, WHICH AT THIS TIME IS PROHIBITIVE.

    A/C stopped emitting cold air, so we were in need of a technician to check the system. I was given a two hour window appointment time, and the the technician arrived within the window. The fix turned out to be a simple one because it was a plug that was not attached properly in the unit (probably an issue in manufacturing). The technician let me know what the issue was and that he re-attached the plug; the A/C was working again. I appreciated the technicians timeliness, honesty and ability. I will definitely use McLay's services again. I used a $49 cooling and heating service call coupon made available on the McLay Angie's List page.

    I bought a $69 A/C Tune-Up and up to 1 Pound of Refrigerant and I was trying to call them and schedule my appointment. I called the company a few times for 2 days in a row. Couldn't get a hold of anyone. Sometimes I'll get someone on the line, but hang-up right after. So I cancelled my purchase of $69 A/C Tune-Up and up to 1 Pound of Refrigerant and I decided to go with another company that I can assist me right away.Just for this experience I give them a "B".
