    Heroes for Hire
The name of this company is Heroes2Hire. I called Randy and said I needed someone who could do a good job with installing baseboards. He assured me he had the right guy who would do excellent work. I asked for 3 references and if he was insured and bonded. He said yes I am and gave me 3 phone numbers and names. I should have figured out when he sent the wrong phone numbers on two of the references that something was wrong. But I wanted to believe in this company and thestory they have for what they do, helping veterans, sounds like a good one. I was sick with the flu when the work was being done. Living in a hotel from an insurance water damage situation I looked at my video doorbell to see how it was going. I noticed that the worker set up his saw at the front door! I called Randy and said that concerned me. I didnt know at the time that he was actually plugged in to an inside outlet even though their was 2 outdoor outlets he could have used. We had a newly remodeled kitchen, all new paint and the brand new floors were just installed the day before. I was further shocked later when I came to pay him that he had left the front door open and sawdust had blown all over my newly remodeled home. As I checked the baseboards and toe kicked installed I was mortified to see that his saw was dull and NO CUT was sharp and truly mitered evenly. He installed all the baseboards and toekicks were at least 1/16 to 1/4 of an inch apart and sloppily caulked the separation. Horrible workmanship! I showed three other contractors the work and they all could not believe how badly the work was done. Twice there were baseboards that were 1/4 - 3/8 short of meeting the next baseboard or meeting spot and he just left it open. I communicated that I was not happy and Tracey said and kept repeating all you have to do is caulk and sand and repaint and it will all be perfect. My construction adviser said when she saw it all I am speechless, its just horrible and you do not sand caulk! I have a lot of photos on my YELP review to show the details. Look up Heroes2Hire in Arroyo Grande or Shell Beach and look at my review and the photos. Unbelievable. I called Randy the owner and told him this is not acceptable. Several days later he called and said he wanted payment because he had paid Tracey the worker. I asked for his insurance and bond and contractors liscence # and he refused to give the information saying he would just give the case to his lawyer. I have now spent over $600.00 ordering all new baseboards and toekicks for the cabinet area and having all the work redone by true professionals. Also needed o repair cabinets dinged up. Always! Always! Always saw work and cutting lumber etc. has been done in the driveway well away from the home and of course the front door is not left open while working outside. What kind of company is this? Many people set up a nonprofit so they make more money and dont pay taxes like the rest of us. But how about offering genuine workers who know what they are doing? How about being honest when you say that the worker you are sending out knows what he is doing? Tracey damaged the brand new cabinets by shooting in the wrong size nails that missed the boards and also he dinged up the cabinets, not to mention DESTROYING ALL THE NEW BASEBOARDS while working. We were not living in the home and had no workers between the floor installers and Tracey do his work. SO WE KNOW HE WAS NOT CAREFUL while installing. He also installed baseboard that my husband had dropped and was all dinged up and should have been thrown out. Randy did admit that that should not have been installed. In one area, a closet, Tracey priced put together 3 short left over pieces to make a 2 foot area trimmed out.....Nothing matched and big gaps were left. I dont understand how anybody can live with this shoddy level of workmanship and call themselves a handyman. Wheres your pride in workmanship? This company may be good at yard work or work like that but beware of any detailed craftwork from Heroes2Hire and I would call someone else for that for sure. I should have gotten his bonding and insurance information up front, too.

    Joe Young Construction
Joe was very easy to work with, and did excellent work. His prices were very reasonable, and he often threw in things at no extra cost, which was wonderful! One of the things that I really appreciated was that he responded back to me promptly whenever I texted him. True to any business, there were times when unexpected things came up and he had to postpone work that he had planned to be doing for me on a certain day, but he always communicated these issues to me, and when I had something that really needed to be done right away (such as getting the plumbing to the washing machine fixed on a weekend) he found a way to make it happen. I will definitely be hiring Joe to do work for me again in the future.

another so-called expert told me I needed at least one new door and lock.  This was after at least 2 hours of effort. The other doors he never got around to look at.  Joe Young fixed all of them in about one  hour. Great job!

    Paso Robles Handyman
Mr Blake replied to my contact within 48 hours and set up an appointment. He had to reschedule the appointment at the last minute due to illness, but rescheduled and showed up on time about two days later. He said he'd email me a quote for the work within 2 days but that did not happen. A week went by and he left a phone message saying he was so busy that he'd have the quote to me and quot;tomorrowand quot;. That did not happen. I still have not received a quote from him, nor any further contact. I can not recommend this company.

    Paragon Handyman Services
I was extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship, and noted he took no breaks,  but worked diligently the entire time.  He removed all the deteriorated wood and rebuilt the deck with supportive underpinnings and redwood.  He thoroughly sanded , primed and repainted deck.  His perfectionism is definitely reflected in his work and I would hire him again, as he apparently is well-versed in not only carpentry, but plumbing, propane, and many other areas of residential and commercial problem-solving.

    Paso Robles Handyman
Other reviewers have stated that you need to wait for these guys. Well..... 6 weeks is too long for me, especially when my irrigation system needed to be looked at. I'm going to hire someone who has the time for me.

    Paso Robles Handyman
Richard was very prompt in returning my initial call. He and John came and looked at everything I needed done then he sent me an estimate a few days later. It took him a while to get back out to actually perform the work but he kept me updated on his schedule and arrived on the days he indicated. At different points in the process of completing all the work, he had to leave to attend to other jobs but let me know he'd be back. Ultimately, I'm pleased with his work and patient with the fact that he seems to have quite a few clients and projects. He seems to be quite busy and always optimistic about when he come back to do more. But nothing that I have is an emergency. He's professional, friendly, courteous, and reviews details of the jobs with me. I like that so I'm willing to wait until he's available to come back.
