  • The car did not look detailed, no waxing evident, poor treatment of areas around door handles, interior cleaning mediocre, display screen not clean, scuff marks on floor... Worker did not mention tear to front seat leather. Worker claimed I owed $25 more. I disputed this but I have researched since and my Lexus RX is considered a mid-sized SUV. I owe them $25.

  • My car is riding like a new car. Whenever I take it in, that is usually how much the price is. They checked it over, which I knew that was what they were going to do. They had to keep it a day, but I knew that. They are very professional.

  • I have a classic 1984 Camaro, so not many shops know how to work on her. I have been ripped off by so many, I actually became frightened to bring her in for servicing -- Until Hal took back ownership of the service center near my house. I had recently taken my car in to Hal's to have the carburetor rebuilt (only $450 BTW), and then the door handle just broke -- snapped off on the inside of the door paneling. I told them that that it had been "repaired" by another shop a couple of years ago, but it was so expensive, I really didn't want to mess with it right at Christmas. Hal was shocked at the price they had charged me and said he could find the right parts and his men could fix it in a day. They did exactly that. They found the part, fixed the door -- like new. They fixed the side mirror "just because" - with no added charge. The car is running great.  I am SO BLESSED to have found this "Family Owned" auto repair shop. I am not afraid to bring my car in for servicing anymore. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. An Honest Auto Repair Shop!  Will miracles never cease?

  • I have to say, I am VERY negative about auto repair shops. I have been totally ripped off by the best of them. I often think I walk around with a sign painted on my forehead that says, "Hi!  I'm Ms. Mega-Bucks. Please dump out my bank account." After my last experience in 2012 of only taking my car in  (which was running like a dream) to be tuned for a smog check and winding up paying over $2500 for parts that the shop owner said were needed to fix all that was wrong with my car to get it to pass -- I vowed never to go back there again. Plus, they kept my car for over a week because "we have to search for/order special parts because nobody makes them for this model car anymore". This year, I just went to a gas station for a lube & oil change & my car passed smog --badda boom!  That told me a lot about the repair place from 2012.
Unfortunately, while driving to the store yesterday, my car died and would not start. It would turn over, but not connect. So I called AAA. I was towed to the same place that ripped me off in 2012, however there was a huge change. The old owner was gone and the name had changed.  I was hesitant, but agreed to leave the car with them.  The service people were very friendly and courteous. Not arrogant and bossy like the previous owners.  They called and told me what they thought the problem was within 20 minutes. But, said they would check the whole car once the new part was in. They told me the part cost $77.75. I told them to go ahead.
When the phone rang at 8 AM this morning, I was sure it would be just like the last repair guy -- every phone call was another $300-500. Not this time. The very polite young man (son of the owner) said, "The ignition module was all that was wrong. The car was totally tested. It runs perfectly."
Honest, polite, friendly, and they explain everything up front.  I will be taking my baby in to them for her regular oil changes, etc. & tunes --and for anything else that might go wrong.  I will recommend this shop to everyone I meet. I absolutely can not believe I found an honest garage -- and by accident? I guess all accidents are not bad. This one wasn't.

  • I went to AutoAid because of the reviews here on Angie's List; the reviews were accurate!! David and his crew were very professional and informative, the place was very clean, and the quality of my auto repair work was excellent. This was my first time taking my car to AutoAid. I tried them because the brake jobs I had gotten in the past always left my brakes squeaking; not this time! Not only that, I was not charged for the tire rotation (which could have been at least $20). Overall, I was very happy with my experience at AutoAid. Thanks David and AutoAid for a job well done!
