    House Painting Inc
I want to relate our experiences with House Painting. Inc. Mr. James Lee responded to our initial telephone call within a day and came out to inspect our house the following day. He provided us with a very thorough inspection of our house and determined what was needed to be done. In addition, he recommended ways to improve drainage around the house and care of brick walkways. Mr. Lee provided us with a complete description of the job, evidence of licensing and insurance coverages and letters of recommendations from past customers. In the end, he provided us a very honest and straightforward quote. We were scheduled to begin work in two weeks, but because of good weather, our job was moved up 3 full days ahead of schedule. The crew assigned to our job was David, the foreman and two assistants. They began promptly at 8am and worked tirelessly until 5 pm everyday. They were experts in every way scraping, sanding and repairing our weathered stucco and wood framed house. At the end of each day, they would meticulously clean the areas around the house and pick up any debris. The crew was very polite, and David would advise us of the days progress. He was very helpful. At the end of all their work, our house looked magnificent! The house looks perfect in everyway! I highly recommend Mr. James Lee and the House Painting, Inc. to all my friends. I would not hesitate to use them again.

    Berger's Painting
The team of Bergers Painting including Bob, the owner and team of Marcelo, Martin and Jesus, the painters, was fantastic. Bob came out right away to give us an estimate and the timing was perfect because one of his jobs got pushed out a week or so due to other contractors so we were able to start the following week. Although the price seemed a little high ... the quality of the work was completely worth it. The prepping prior to painting was unbelievably good and the actual painting process was great. Everything was masked, taped and/or covered and no overspray occurred. The team was punctual, courteous and cleaned up every day prior to leaving. They replaced outdoor light fixtures and even attached a weathervane atop the cupola and the painting included painting stucco, cement siding, all doors, all window frames and sills, shutters, roof cupola, French door paneled sliding doors, gutters, eaves, fascias, 2 gates, garage door and all trim. The price included all paint and materials to complete the job perfectly. We cant say enough good things about Bergers Painting and will use again when the time comes. We highly recommend this company and are so happy we found them on Angies List!!

    House Painting Inc
The two-person crew did an excellent job with the prep work being very thorough. They covered all windows and doors to protect them from splatters. They sanded away the old paint and wood splinters. They filled holes with putty and used two coats of primer where needed. They caulked the windows where needed. They covered the primer with a dark coat of paint before applying the finishing coat, which was a high quality paint. Rather than use a spray to apply the paint, they hand brushed everything, ensuring a thicker coat of paint that would last. The entire project was completed in 3 and 1/2 days.

    Sunshine Builders
We appreciate the perfect work that Sunshine builders has done for our house recently. The quality and perfection work is outstanding, passed our expectations and they were also a truly pleasure to have around our house. They always came to the house in the morning and left at the evening after making sure that all the working areas are clean and secure. Eran who was the manager of the project, provided us with a lot of ideas, solutions, opinions and recommendations that were very useful and helpful during the work. Eran also made sure that our budget will remain the same no matter what small modifications they did due to problems or issues that raises during the work. Their budget estimates are always right on target. Sunshine builders has done quite a bit of work on both the interior and exterior of our house which includes new painting, new kitchen, new master bathroom, insulation and the few other items.

Terrible!!!! Contractor came only twice during the project and that was in the first week. He stated that he had a crew which was incorrect. Most of the time it was day Labour's who the foreman would drop off. Most of them couldn't read or understand the blueprints and being unskilled resulted in work being done 2 to 3 times. If you didn't catch the mistakes, don't count on the foreman because if he showed, would sit in his car the whole day. I'm talking about the entire roof being redone rafters included. Walls 6 inch off their mark. They took short cuts on everything and somethings could end up killing someone. I would spend my weekends rebuilding things, because I got tried of having the same conversation with the contractor, who would blame the workers. Workers wouldn't show up or would walk off the job for not being paid , which the contractor would tell them that we weren't paying. Once we found this out , we showed the one or two guys if we're lucky that we were paid up to date and that the contractor was withholding their money. We didn't haggle the price in the beginning, he gave us the price and a ten week competition date. Almost a year later ( painful year) and cutting the job down we are done with him. In the end, he had to refund us money for my time spent fighting with him to get his act together. I could go on forever, but I hope you get the point.

    Sunshine Solar
Sunshine solar installed an 8.5 kw grid-tied PV system for us. The owner Jacob made several visits to our house so he will be able to design and plan very well the system and he recommended us to have a system that is expensive than other type of systems but with longer warranty and mainly the option to monitor all the system performance for each panel even. The estimate of Jacob was very competitive and it was very detailed included all the parts, labor, permits, inspections and more We mainly valued his huge knowledge in solar plus the city codes, financing, rates and time frames. The installers and the crew that worked on the roof including the paint and stucco were very efficient in their own trades. Sunshine solar did provide us with at least 6 referrals where they installed solar systems, which provided us with a solid source that this company can install a good solar system and them worth the investment. Our summery about Sunshine solar is that they are very experienced and skilled people and we strongly recommend them for anyone that considering a solar system.

    Approved Contractor Inc.
Honestly, based on all the reviews here, I thought I was getting an A. What I got was a C. Jared came to the house, put on an excellent "dog and pony show,", got me to sign on the dotted line, all in a very professional manner. His bid seemed high, but fair for what I THOUGHT I was going to get. Then things fell apart and I didnt see him again till he came to collect the last check (which he promptly cashed even after telling me he wouldnt cash it until I was completely satisfied!). I was so beaten down by the end of the project; I would have paid him and his crew to disappear! When Jared was selling the work, he assured me that the stucco repairs would be done according to our agreement. This meant that all cracks (larger than hairline) would be opened up and filled with the appropriate compounds and smoothed before painting. I had done significant research on the topic and knew the correct method and materials to perform the repairs. When his crew showed up the first day, I asked his lead to show me how the repairs were going to be done. The answer was WRONG (they were going to fill them up without opening them up). I promptly called Jared, who spoke with the lead and instructed him on what we agreed to (and the only correct way to repair stucco cracks). Two days into stucco repairs and paint prep, Jared asked me for the paint colors (which, according to him would take 3 days to procure). I told him I was still working with color consultants and that I needed extra time. I didnt think the extra time would be an issue, because I was told and researched that the stucco repairs required time to cure before paining (which Jared confirmed on our initial walk through). I told him I needed extra time. He promptly responded with asking what colors I was leaning towards. My response was that I was THINKING of using the same colors on the house already. When I responded the next day with OTHER colors, he told me he already ordered the colors!!!!! ***??? Who orders colors on a response of I think? LUCKY for both of us, production of the body color hadnt started and he was able to cancel. Armed with my final color choices, Jareds team started the next day painting the eaves and fascia. Right color, WRONG PAINT! My contract specifically called out Dunn Edwards, but the guys used Behr!!! Of course, I only found out by examining the paint jugs left in my yard. I called Jared to let him know he was in breach of our contract and he claimed that when color matching, they use EITHER Behr or DE. When I assured him that my contract did NOT state that and specifically called out DE, he responded irately, calling me difficult from the start and unreasonable! EXCUSE ME, difficult and unreasonable for getting the paint I contracted for? Are you kidding? He emailed me the next day stating that he should have realized his mistake and apologizing for his behavior. He said the guys would apply a coat of the DE paint over the existing paint. We finally agreed to leave the Behr and for him to take off $350 (only time will tell if that was a fair deal). So, the guys apply the body paint and I do a walkthrough of the work. Unhappy with some of the stucco repair, I take his lead around the house stating my expectations. There were some corner and base repairs that were VERY unsatisfactory. In fact, at one of the corners there was dripped sludge, covered by tape, covered by PAINT! IM NOT KIDDING! Some other items When I took Jared around the house for his estimate, I told him that I have three dogs and that I would attempt to them keep inside, but that they would occasionally need to go out. I told him that the guys needed to make sure that the GATES WERE CLOSED at ALL TIMES. His response, NO PROBLEM. Needless to say, the gates were tied open to bushes with painters tape. At that point, I had to make CERTAIN that someone was available at the house at ALL times as I actually have a job that requires me to go into an office! Clean up? Whats that? And WHAT A MESS IT WAS! I dont know about you, but I would expect cleanup to be done nightly and at the end of the job. Two weeks after the job is done, Im still collecting paint chips! There is still stuff on the house I would like Jared to address, but at this point I don't expect them to be addressed appropriately (especially since he cashed the last check even after assuring me he wouldn't until I was 100% satisfied... live and learn). I only hope he makes good on his promises 1) to return my samples with the paint formulas and, 2) performs warranty repairs as stated In contract!

    MF Construction & Design Inc
We tasked Mike at MF Construction with an extremely large project, which involved transforming a 1940s house to a modern colonial style home. The passion and commitment to quality and workmanship was second to none. Not only does Mike understand all the issues that come with a huge remodel, his strength is his ability to keep the project moving forward from beginning to end without taking shortcuts. His crew is comprised of seasoned professionals that only do the highest quality work, and Mikes stringent quality control ensures their work is top-notch. He was always reachable (by phone or text) and towards the end of the project was working 7 days a week in order to see it to completion. I can say for certain that there are no contractors out there that have his level of commitment. At the end of the day, everyone just dreams about the renovations they see on HGTV, but Mike can actually turn those dreams into reality.

    Landmark Energy Upgrades
Great company and good service. Charlie from landmark construction came over to check and see the work that I wanted to do and after our first meeting, he came back and provided me with several options of color combinations for the paint. In additional to that, Charlie repaired some cracks that the walls had and he included that in the estimate as well. The work was performed by his workers and they did a great job! The tankless system that he installed for me came out as the best part of the work because it provided me with hot water while saving the gas when I'm not using it. During the work, I noticed that Charlie is pretty honest man and his estimate was pretty much very good.

    Detail Painting Inc
Overall they did great work.  The quality of the paint job is excellent.  I had them refinish and paint my exterior rafters and roof fascia boards.  I specifically wanted the Sherwin Williams exterior Emerald paint, which is more expensive, but Patrick was able to supply that for me.
Just some minor issues:  I asked the guys to patch up some of the wood with WoodEpox that I had purchased.  It's a two part epoxy, extremely strong, and does provide a structural repair when done correctly (as opposed to just a cosmetic patch repair).  The guys threw out one of the parts because they felt that it was too hard/solid.  But that does happen in cold weather, and it just needs to be warmed up again, and then it's good to go.  Anyway, I had to spend another $150 to repurchase another 2 gallon set.
But they did at least patch up some of the holes on the fascia boards, and the house looks great.
