    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
I contacted Tony @ Nexxus Remodeling due to his many reviews here on Angie's I've actually been eyeballing his business for many years for other projects, and after taking on bids from 3 different contractors, I chose to go with Nexxus Remodeling. I'm one who likes to know every detail that goes into the process of the project and be explained to by the owner the steps or process on how the project will be completed from start to finish. It's also an opportunity for me to learn.

Tony isn't the cheapest of the bunch, but I didn't get a sense of complete security with the other 2 contractors (they were about the same pricing). I noticed that Tony's got some bad reviews from other members who didn't like how he interacts, so you should know that with Tony Panterra, the first time you speak with him or meet with him, you would either love him or hate him. He is very blunt, and can be misconstrued as being overly arrogant, but he will tell how the project will go through his experience on his many projects and if there's a part of the job that he doesn't do, he's forward enough to let you know ahead of time as well.

Tony will let you know the maximum amount (or sum of) how much the project would cost and also let you know what to expect, so you won't be hit with hidden fees in the middle of the project. My balcony had a leak and due to the recent rain, water droplets was dripping down from the old cracked tiles on my 2nd floor balcony to the 1st floor patio ceiling (through the stucco), The damage didn't seem that great, but after Tony came by, he explained to me that in the best scenario, the repair would be minimal if the wood under the tiles aren't rotted out and the total cost of the project would be the initial estimate he gave me. Tony also warned me ahead of time that until we proceeded with demoing the balcony floor first, we will not know exactly how much damage really exists underneath the tiles.

\He continues, if to what he was thinking and the wood underneath is rotted out, then new wood would be required to be added to give support to the balcony (which will incur a change order with additional costs). Upon demolition, he showed and I saw that indeed the wood underneath was rotted and new wooden supports needed to be attached to beneath the balcony, the change order was made and the additional costs which Tony had informed me prior to demoing were added. Tony's crew came out every weekday and showed up on time in the morning and worked till about 3-4pm and always cleaned up the area above and below my balcony. Tony had the crew piled up their tools and materials off the grass like I asked them to and were able to get the entire project completed without having to go through my home which was great for me and my family, so that we would not be disturbed throughout the day while the Nexxus crew worked.

Tony estimated that the entire project from start to finish would take a month to complete and so it did. Both my family and I were very happy with the result and completion of the work that Nexxus Remodeling has put into our renewed balcony and it looks fabulous. Now we are able to actually put our balcony to some good use during this summer, especially with the newly added patio cover that is providing complete shade over our balcony. I would definitely hire Tony and his crew again for future projects.

The Pool Guys Remodeling & Repair
April and Tim and their crew were SUPERB!!! The experience and subsequent results surpassed our expectations. They were courteous, on schedule, kept us informed and kept the work area as clean as possible. April or Tim came by on almost a daily basis and personally coordinated the entire remodel from start to finish. They went above and beyond in their efforts. Both are so friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with their pool. Their expertise on pools was invaluable. We will use them again without hesitation and have already recommended them to our friends.

    Kobe Enterprises
I had first met Kobe as a contractor working for another
company. The job was huge and required the remodeling of about 100,000 square
feet (all bedrooms). As natural during any house remodeling, I had certain dissatisfactions
with the quality of work in some areas. However, Kobe?s response to my
criticism of the work was unexpected. Kobe, with no additional charge, took it
upon himself to ensure that every single one of my complaints would be remedied
in the best possible way for us. Having undergone two remodeling jobs prior to
this one, I have never seen a contractor with such outstanding integrity and
    professional conduct.
Additionally Kobe?s prices were much more reasonable than
competing contractor?s I had seen before. Based on Kobe?s outstanding work and
customer service, I decided to contact him for a second smaller job (patio roof
installation). Again, as expected from Kobe, he had gone out of his way to
ensure that the final product was exactly what I was looking for.
Remodeling can be a very stressful process. It doesn?t
always go quite the way you envision it (I should know, I?ve gone through
three). Kobe Marciano is a talented contractor that will make the entire
process as stress free as possible, all for a more than fair price.

    Teak Master
Our home came with an 875 square foot deck, we were that was teak wood.
The surface had become increasingly worn poorly over the course of just a few months. Protecting rather than replacing became our priority. We interviewed several contractors to help us diagnose our deck situation but never felt confident we were speaking to the right person for the job. Of the contractors we interviewed, it was clear that Teak Master was the real deal and extremely knowledgeable at what they do.
Raul was our foreman for the project. During our walkthrough, he sanded a small portion of the deck to show us what the deck originally looked like. He confirmed the deck was in fact made of solid teak, which rare according to him. Our bid was submitted and received via email the next day. The job was performed and managed according to the expectations communicated by Raul. Teak Master crew was on time, detailed and highly skilled at what they do.

    Landscape Adventures
I hired Mike Owen and his relatively new firm, Landscape Adventures, largely because I was very pleased with the job he and his team did in installing pavers on our large driveway in 2006 when he and his team worked for another company in this business.  I thought they did a great job for us and they were a pleasure to work with.   I was especially pleased with how the team leader, Edmilson Hernandez, handled the critical border pavers that separated the paving area and our plant beds, and his cooperation and efficiency in moving several heavy and large flower pots off the pool deck at the outset and back again after the pavers had been expertly installed to our satisfaction and a sealer applied to extend the life and look of our new pool deck.  Our immediate neighbors had been observing the project for weeks from a good vantage point.  They were so impressed with what they saw, supported by my positive evaluation, that they hired Mike's firm to install pavers on their long asphalt driveway, and they were also quite happy with the work done.  I wouldn't hesitate to use Landscape Adventures again, nor to recommend the firm to others who have similar needs.Knut

    Dino Herrera Masonry
Working with Dino was a pleasure. He was professional in all aspects of the job, gave us good advice on our project procedures, and left the premises clean and orderly. The concrete work was perfect.

We plan to have Dino do more work for us and we can highly recommend him for any masonry work you might need.

Jeff Kerber Pool Plastering & Remodeling
When looking for a pool contractor, I did my homework. My property is large and this size project can seriously impact the value of the home. I sought and recieved approximately 8-10 on-site quotes from various pool companies.  Each had their own spin and had great websites. After talking to Bobby several times, I narrowed the search to include Kerber. Bobby did a large scale drawing of the proposal with his personal design. He told me to trust him and I did (he has an art background of some kind). His designs (no charge) were perfect and truly fit my wants and were perfect for the space.
The next step was to research Kerber.  I went to Yelp, Angies list, Yahoo, BBB and any other site or blog where I could get feedback on each company.  I saw various posting with vastly different comments and reviews.  There were some negative reviews and ratings for Kerber. Upon looking deeper, it appeared that some of the negative entries were repeated by one or two (aparently upset/vindictive) individuals in several places...but appear to be separate complaints.... and another may have been a competitor (Kerber is a large company). I also saw that Kerber either resolved each complaint or tried to without the satisfaction of the customer. None were left hanging.
Next, I went to locations/sites where Kerber had done similar projects.. I was trully amazed at the quality of work.  One was also large with lots of herringbone work. It was of outstanding craftsmanship and detail.  I hired Kerber!
Their work was amazing. I met with the forman Jorge every morning. He and the entire crew were friendly (some construction contractors and crews are not).  Jorge made adjustments as I requested without hassle or rebidding ...or repeated calls to the company...he just did it. These guys had the pool removed in a day, plumbed and poured in a couple of weeks and the entire project was completed in about 6 -7 weeeks.  That included me stopping the project two weeks (vacation) because I wanted to be there throughout.  They also removed a large pile of lanscaping to make the project work and worked with the landscaper to make it all work.
I could not have asked for more...and I asked for a lot...I am very detail oriented...borderline anal.  Kerber did an amazing job!
The true test of a contractor is the follow up.  Bobby has been very responsive.  His electrical and go-to guy Travis has promptly returned every call and has helped me through everything when I needed help.   He came to my house with little notice and fixed the minor issues that arose. It has been several months and everything is perfect. The remote control system controls all lights and equipment and is very cool. My kids have already had several parties with several planned.  Bobby and Kerber did more then they promised for about 30% less then other companies.
I am hiring Kerber for another large project for the remainder of my yard to include a large patio and waterfall.

    David's Landscaping
We hired Don in July and the work began soon thereafter. We were only going to put sprinklers in the back and have grass planted and have a pergola built. That was the original plan. As we talked with Don, our vision for improving our property grew. Work began in the front with replacing the sprinkler system. Then enlarging the flower beds followed and the planting of our new tree. The stones were added to define the spaces and prevent lawn mower damage. Then the real work took place. The trees were all pruned all eight of them. Work in the back yard followed and entailed making sure a tube was in place for electricity for the pergola, a sprinkler system, concrete for the pergola and the sidewalk leading to it. Then the yard had to be leveled, fertilized and the grass planted. The flower beds were also planted and the watering systems for them had been put in place when the sprinklers were installed. All sprinklers are on timers and work well to assure that everything lives. Don was very easy to work with and open to our ideas and suggestions. We were quite pleased with our decision to place the pergola away from the house rather than next to it. We were so pleased with the work that we have engaged Don to come in and replace dead flowers and to fertilize as necessary. Ours was a very pleasant experience. As our grass grows, we are feeling like the job is complete. It took from July to September for them to finish the work, the grass is now just about where we'd like it to be.
