ACT Allmon DevelopmentI had a problem at my vacation rental. John contacted me quickly when I posted my problem for quotes online. I had a failing septic. It was no longer draining. John came out and accessed the the situation and based on faulty drawings I supplied, he gave me an estimate for repair. I agreed to the figure. When he discovered that the drawings were wrong and he only had to dig up 5 feet (not 14) between the septic tank and the seep box he lowered his estimate. You can't ask for more honesty and fairness. He and his worker completed the job in less than 2 days. Hire him!- Bob G.

AAAA Mike Counsil Plumbing and RooterJerry Biodo, from Mike's Plumbing arrived at 0900 on Sunday morning. He crawled under the house and checked how the water pipes were located to determine if they could be rerouted from the solar pipes. While he was under the house he also checked the septic lines and air conditioner lines. He went up on the roof next and checked where the water was coming from and if there was obvious damage to the roof. He counseled me to contact a Solar Company to have the solar unit removed and roof checked for water damage. As a temporary way to stop the leaking and still give me hot water he cut and capped the leaking pipes. He also checked but could not find a motor to the unit. He said he would be back to reroute the water lines to the water heater as soon as I get the solar units removed. It was a very hot day so I really appreciated Jerry's attitude and all the extra help and advice he gave me.- Nancy P S.

AQuick Plumbing ServicesEverything was fine. They gave me a good tip and told me that I could use the city the next time for free if I have the same problem. That wasn't good for their business but that is what they told me.- Wendy G.

AVAN DELDEN WASTE WATER SYSTEMSExcellent job done. They are prompt, very professional and performed work beyond expectations. Kurtis' excavation work was super clean and tidy. AAlpha Plumbing & Rooter ServiceThe only problem we had and they fixed it and they were very conscientious about it, the driver hit back into a fence along our tennis court and then pulled a little bit and they came, rooter rooter came up and fixed it, so they were attentive to us and it was a difficult backing situation and I don't really blame them and they fixed it so in a way it's kind of a good sign because they were conscientious about it, they make a mistake they fixed it. They pump the septic tank pretty straight forward they pumped it out and drove away, he had to come back and do a second one.- WALTER S.

AAllstar PlumbingSo I wake up one morning and the flush just wouldn’t flush.. like water would fill up but not flush. So I called All Star Plumbing and spoke to a Kevin who was very understanding considering I was irritated over this issue early in the morning.. he told me someone was already working in the area and would be able to come by in a couple hours.. on arrival the plumber told me the septic pipes were clogged and would take about an hour or so to find the issue and fix it.. about 20 minutes in he comes back to tell me the issue was bigger than expected and might take longer than expected I appreciated him following up with me on that. Compared to other places I called All Star gave me the best price quote from however I could describe my issue over the phone. On arrival Javier was very Respectful and Personable which was nice because I live on my own.. and True to the quote my bill was very reasonable.- Manvin G.

FDelta Van Lines was a terrible experience. They are brokers and don't let them tell you differently. My sales person, Natalie, was quite nice until I started having problems. Then she would not return my calls. She promised me that they used their own trucks and drivers ( except upon rare occasion ) . Not true. My pick up was "Big Boy Moving." Four guys in which one was on the phone the entire time, one was skyping in the bedroom with the doors closed and the other two were working. The head guy immediately told me there would be an extra $300 for a long haul and $150 for a bulk shipment. I had told Natalie the elevator was right there next to the loading dock at my apartment. She said no problem, no long haul charge. The bulk charge, I never did understand and they really couldn't explain it . When I called Natalie while this guy was trying to collect this money, she said and I quote "Well I will never use them again.". She said she would call me back and that's the last I heard from her. I was stuck. I ended up calling Big Boy Movers and they had no answers either. Before the movers were done, they came right out and asked me for a tip. Of course I gave it to them, they had my stuff. But they literally asked me. This was the most unprofessional experience I have had moving. I have written an email to the manager Joshban Molina who has never responded. Natalie stopped communicating the minute she had my money. The only good thing that happened was that they were on time. I do not recommend this company at all. Besides the rudeness of the actual movers, there was no support from the company I had hired, Delta Van Lines. They could have cared less.

AVery impressed with Expert Plumbing and had a very positive experience with them. I felt the team went the extra mile with my project, as described below. Expert Plumbing does charge a fee for their initial estimate visit ($ amount is dependent upon one's location in Santa Cruz county, but this is explained at the time of request, so clients are aware of the fee should they wish to seek out an alternate provider. The fee is recouped and applied to the work estimate, should one opt to select Expert Plumbing to perform the work. Talal (co-owner) arrived on time the day of the estimate. Alerts are received via text message and/or email if desired that Expert Plumbing is on its way. Talal explained thoroughly the work he felt would need to be performed to make my requested upgrades. This was followed up, within a few business days, with the actual work estimate which included a detailed description of the work to be performed. The work was scheduled within a week. I found Talal, Mo and Jacob to be very attentive to detail and all possess very good customer interaction skills. In my particular case, they went the extra mile to support my project as a custom bath fixture I had supplied for the project turned out to have a fitting issue for a lavatory pedestal. This was not detailed in the product's technical specifications so we all were caught unaware until the work was in process. As a result, I was unable to use my custom supplied fixture for this project. With a holiday approaching and hosting family - I needed an alternate solution fast!. Expert Plumbing offered to call local suppliers to see if a suitable alternative fixture could be found locally, sourced a suitable option, texted me an image to approve and installed the alternative option the same day. That is an example of being responsive to the needs of the customer! I would highly recommend Expert Plumbing for your plumbing needs. They are very courteous, highly professional, skilled at customer interaction, clean up well after they perform their work, are reasonably priced and explain and document well the work to be performed. It was a very pleasant contractor experience and I have no hesitation contacting them for any plumbing needs I might have in the future.

FDay 1. Two of the toilets in the house backed up, however the third toilet, closest to where the sewer line exits the house and goes underground and out to the street, worked fine. Obviously the obstruction was under the house upstream of the third toilets’ sewer connection. Called Allstar plumbing (AKA GogoRooter) as recommended by Angies’ list. Day 2. Allstar estimated it would cost $875.00, so I gave them my credit card for that amount. (See Sewer_01.pdf). (Note. It included installing a 2 way clean out). Allstar plumbing sent two young men who removed the two toilets and manually cabled the two toilets but were unable to clear the line. They called their Foreman to visually inspect the lines. Day 3. The Foreman arrived from Gogo Rooter with a camera and was unable to see the obstruction. He advised that the lines under the house were sagging and should be strapped up (not done). He assured me that the only action was to install a clean out just outside the house in the garden, but now the job cost would be $2,200.00. With little choice, I Ok’ed it (See Sewer_02.pdf and Sewer_03.pdf). Day 4 & 5. The two young men dug a ~ 4ft deep hole down to the 4” cast iron sewer pipe. They were digging by the light of their cell phones until I loaned them an extension cord and trouble light! They cut the old cast iron pipe with a compression cutter, which shattered the pipe and produced a crack running towards the street. I was then informed that the only solution was to replace the cast iron pipe from the hole to the street with a plastic pipe for now a job cost of $7,250.00 (See Sewer_04.pdf). In the mean time they provided a temporary sewer connection, using duct tape. They brought in a power rooter, which, low and behold, cleared the original obstruction! All three toilets were now working. However, when they reinstalled the toilets they failed to add the spacers to bring the sewer pipe flange up to floor level. Day 8, 9 & 10. The two young men now dug a ~ 8ft deep hole down to the 4” cast iron sewer pipe close to where it enters the City line. They got the position wrong and had to extend the hole to find the pipe. Day 11. The sewer was disconnected, so no toilets or washing. They did not have the correct parts with them! The cast iron pipe running into the house was now cutoff cleanly using a small power grinder – no cracks! Day 12. Still no sewer, again ran out of parts. Day 13. At the end of the day, a supervisor got the sewer re-connected. Day 15. The Palo Alto City Inspector failed the job because they had not installed a one-way valve as required by Palo Alto and several of the other Bay area cities. Day 16. Allstar called me wanting me to pay $250.00+ extra for their incompetence in not knowing a one-way valve was required, I refused citing Sewer_04.pdf which states they will supply “ABS parts and permit”. Day 22. The Palo Alto City Inspector passed the video inspection but required the valve to be installed. Day 23 Valve installed, but again missing a part. Day 24. The Palo Alto City Inspector passed the Job Day 25. Refilled the first hole. Day 27. Refilled the second hole and completed the job. In conclusion, if they had used the power rooter initially none of the extra work would have been necessary and my bill would have been $6375.00 less. The two young men obviously did not know the trade, had little supervision or guidance and were not equipped with the correct tools. I had to loan them, a wheel barrow, a power cord, a power adapter, a trouble light, a nut driver, and a tape measure – what sort of a company sends it’s workers out with the correct tools? The Supervisor informed me that all the tools on his truck were his personal property and belonged to him! Several of the lawn lights have been destroyed along with some sprinklers. In my opinion, no one should recommend these companies.

FOur agent purchased this for us since we were buying a home with very old appliances. Our initial contact to set up the warranty was terrible, the customer service person couldn't get the details right and became impatient and argumentative when we tried to correct her to make sure it was set up correctly. A week later we decided to follow up and make sure it had gone through since we hadn't received the email confirmation. We were told our payment information didn't go through. Upon asking to confirm the plan, it was missing the vital components like the ROOF and pool equipment and FURNACE. Got that straightened out and paid for. A month later the furnace stopped working on a Friday. Called them at 5:30pm on a Friday, the furnace repair place they referred us to was already closed. BEWARE, these services can't be called on over the weekend. So, at 5:30pm on a Friday it was too late to get anyone out. Over the weekend, husband and brother reset some breakers and got it going again. We never heard from the furnace repair company or any follow up from Fidelity National Home Warranty. We were not charged thankfully. Dryer died yesterday on a Sunday, washer full of wet clothes of course. Giving them another shot since we have no choice, and will follow up with another review, but am not going to be surprised if we get a repeat bad performance.
