ASkyline Landscapes, Inc.We contracted Skyline Landscapes to fully overhaul our ~5,000 sq ft backyard and are thrilled with the results. They followed our landscape architect's design flawlessly, and the results are gorgeous. A few specific things worth noting: - Skyline's bid was very thorough and covered all changes in the landscape architect's design (Note: Some other companies who bid omitted key details) - When Francisco (Skyline's owner) made suggestions, they were very well thought through, improved the aesthetic, and added substantial value to the final results - I appreciated that when we made changes, Skyline gave us an incremental work estimate, so I never felt like there were any surprises - They were very conscientious working during COVID. The entire crew wore masks consistently and we felt very safe having them on our property. - They were here and working every weekday meaning we never had to worry about if or when they were going to show up. This meant the project completed in line with estimates. Overall Skyline Landscapes were extremely professional, did an excellent job, and we would happily hire them again in the future. -Adam- Adam C.

Anselmo also keeps you informed through your entire job on how things are progressing. His prices are totally reasonable by SF standards and I would hire him to do more work for us in a heartbeat. I wish all contractors had a customer experience like Shaping and Restoring does. AShaping & Restoring LandscapeI initially hired Anselmo to upgrade our landscape lighting which over the course of 20 years had become largely non functional. I found him online and he had great reviews. I explained the project over the phone and he came by the next day, He was thoughtful, explained the options, easy to communicate with, and responsive throughout. He finished the job relatively quickly too. Coincidentally, my landscaper of nearly 15 years was retiring and so I hired Anselmo and his team to takeover the landscaping at our home. They’re great! They’ve done a bunch of projects for us from tree trimming to planting to irrigation repair. I’m very happy with the results. I highly recommend Anselmo and his team!- Bill R.

AShaping & Restoring LandscapeI couldn't be happier. Anselmo did a great job on our landscaping project. It included some hardscaping (concrete sitting wall, block retaining wall, and DG area), lots of grass, planting, irrigation, pruning, clean-up, and fencing. Throughout the project Anselmo was on-site and hands-on. He and the team are hard-working and know what they are doing. Anselmo was very responsive to changing requirements and always with a can-do positive attitude. He took full responsibility for his work. If something didn't come out right then it was simply re-done. No need to argue.. Results are great! Pricing-wise I found Anselmo to be very reasonable. Two thumbs way up! Easily the best contractor we ever hired (and we had a lot of them...) If you are looking for a contractor who will give you a beautiful/detailed spreadsheet in a nice shiny folder with the company logo on it, then Anselmo is not your guy. But if you want someone who just knows his stuff and is pleasure to work with, then you found him... Update: I'm writing this about a year after project completion. Anselmo's work held very well. We have a really beautiful front lawn. There were a couple little things that needed to be fixed (a plant that died, some irrigation, etc.) and Anselmo came by and fixed them in no time. We have another project coming up and I'm definitely going to hire him again.- Avner S.

AI know reviews tend to be either all good or all bad... I am giving them and A because they did do a great job. Like any job that is big like this, there are always little things you work with and find and adapt too and so its not like some magic experience, it was like any other construction project. There were issues, questions, small decisions that needed to be corrected... but in all this, they were friendly, honest and made the work that needed to be done. They even helped me move my spa into the right place... they really are good people from sales to the crew... so if you are looking for solid work, with honest people... these are you the people.

FBlack Diamond Pavers promised high quality work and a team of skilled employees to perform the work. I hired them and paid a premium based on their promises of premium work. The crew that black diamond sent to my house was a random crew of scab workers that changed daily and were not employed by black diamond. I was promised by black diamond that my front yard calstone paver walkways and porch would be competed in 3 days. In reality, the project took over 30 days and the work was the worst I have ever seen. The unprofessional crew spent a month in my front yard chain smoking cigarettes and dropping their cigarette butts all over my yard, with no foreman on-site and zero guidance or direction. The workers left my yard piles of trash amd garbage stuffed in corners every day. They literally caused more damage to my property and made more mistakes than I could explain in this brief review. It has now been 3 months since the project began and the landscape lights and transformer are still not hooked up. I also have low spots in the pavers where water pools every time it rains or anytime I turn the hose on - this is from improper preparation and poor compaction beneath the paver stones. Black diamond does not employ their own crews of workers. What they do is double the actual costs of the project (based on the promise of excellent workmanship) and they send a crew of random Home Depot parking lot workers, whom they pay less than market rate for their work. I saw so many different workers throughout the job, likely due to these being day laborers from the Home Depot parking lot. Most of the guys would show up in old trucks that had other business names on the side (not Black Diamond)- “affordable hauling”, lawn care, etc. I got scammed by black diamond, don't make the same mistake. I will be forced to take them to court in order to recoup money so that I may have my pavers installed by a legitimate contractor.
