    My husband and I took two very precious antiques to American Furniture Company for restoration and upholstering.  One piece was a rocking chair that my husband's grandfather had been rocked in as a baby.  It dated back to the early to mid 1800's.  The other piece was an antique settee that had also been passed down through my husband's family.  Both the rocking chair and the settee were wood with an upholstered seating area. 
    Jessica greeted us and after looking at the rocking chair and settee, assured us that they both could be taken apart and re-glued without destroying the finish that time made.  We then took quite a bit of time choosing fabric for both pieces.  So many samples!! She showed me the codes on the back of the samples that would detail the fabric's qualities after first explaining explaining terms like abrasion resistance, stain repellent, etc.  I made my choices and then she had the upholsterer check to see if my choices would work with each piece as chosen and how much I would need.  At that time I also asked for a pattern for a slip cover that I wanted to make to save the off-white, linen-like fabric from my 3 grandchildren.
     With all details discussed and choices made, a written estimate and time for performance was provided to us.  I winced a tiny bit and signed.  When I went back to pick up our family heirlooms, my initial wincing was replaced by PURE JOY!  Gorgeous and sturdy is all I can say, and there with our cherished pieces was a pattern for the seat cover...he remembered!
    Would I use American Furniture Company again?  In a heart beat!  Would I recommend AFC to my friends?  Absolutely!  I'm already planning my next project.

    We went in to the furniture store, and a salesman took us all around, we picked out a TV stand and paid cash for it. Then found out it would be 4 to 6 weeks for it to arrive. That is outrageous in itself. After the 6 weeks a Liquidation company came and took over the management, the head jerk, named Mike gave me the name and number to call if I wanted my money back because they a date a few months out that I was scheduled to get my TV stand. I called the number, spoke to a lady who said that she would ask her manager if we could come to that town (1 hour away) and pick up the floor model. Manager said yes. When we drove there to get it the manager was a complete inconsiderate jerk said we couldn't have it and that he would never have let us, he must have not been paying attention to the lady when she asked him and just answered whatever to make us happy. So we drove home with nothing. Our old TV stand was extremely dangerous for our 2 year old so we had to shell out another 300 dollars at another store for a new one, meanwhile Robert Myers gets to keep my 372.37. He was adamant in the papers that his 2 remaining stores would NOT close, which they abruptly did, and I was finally contacted after calling every single day for about 3 weeks and told that we could have the money in credit and pick something else out (ummmm from where? the stores are closed) or we could just go ahead and take legal action which we most certainly are doing. But after all the hassle that this store put us through we are not suing for 372.37, OH NO! We will be suing for our time, our mileage, our time on the phone, the amount, interest, and anything and everything else our lawyer thinks we are eligible JUST TO SUE FOR. If we don't get it, whatever, it's the principal and I want this all over the news, the town that we sued ROBERT MYERS for XXXX amount of dollars over what is such a little amount of principal just for his pre meditated fraud.
