    RED Home Design & Staging
The results of the remodeling was up to my expectations, and within my cost limits.  The job included electrical work, wall repair and painting, gutting to bathrooms and a kitchen and rebuilding, carpeting and wood flooring and assisting in window shade selections.
Visited the sight often to see that we were getting the wanted results.

The designer showed up on time and responded well, but the follow up was less than desirable.  We would have preferred an email conformation of our consultation results, instead of handwritten notes on lined paper.  The color choices were based on our expectations, but we chose to go another route.  This designer is well suited for higher end projects where more capital is being spent on decorating.  The solution wasn't a good match for us, but it would be for someone else.

    ORANGE COAST STAGED HOMES
Went very well. I spoke with Sara over the phone & gave her the garage door code so she could work up a bid. After reviewing the bid, a couple of phone calls & emails I gave her the go ahead (I was working out of town so at this point we still hadn't met). She faxed me the contracts (hers and the furniture rental company); I completed the forms & faxed back -- this was Wednesday. On Friday the furniture was delivered and she spent the day there getting things ready. Finally met her around 7 p.m Friday evening when she was busily arranging things. I stopped by late that evening (around 11) to retrieve something and she was still hard at work. She worked through the weekend & finished up Sunday morning. Place looks great. I received and accepted an offer about 2 weeks after staging.

    H & W HOME STAGING
I've never worked with stagers before, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I had hoped to spend around $1000 for 2 months of staging (living room, dining room, master bedroom, and a few accessories for the kitchen & bathroom). H&W indicated they could meet my budget and I wrote them a check to complete the proposal. A few days later I met with them to finalize things - at that point I learned that the cost would be about $1000 per month, not the $500 a month I was expecting. They seemed very professional & I liked their plans, so I swallowed hard and said "ok". Sensing my discomfort they faxed me the list of items they would be providing, which did make me feel better. At that point I learned there would also be an $100 hourly charge for putting waiting for the delivery truck & putting this all together -- potentially another $600-$800. Now my total costs were around $3000 for the first 2 months, and another $1000/month after that - far more than I initially had budgeted for. I'll chalk it up to mis-communication, but I'm pretty sure I initially told them I was hoping to spend $900-1100 TOTAL for the 1st 2 months. I ended up with another company that provided me with all the numbers up front, no surprises, and a 3 month total of about $3000.
