    Barragan, Dr. Edward R
He is compassionate, friendly and easy to talk to. He explains everything he does before he does it and before he does any kind of treatment that might cause discomfort or even pain, he stops doing the procedure and checks if you are ok. At times he would give more local anesthesia if there is any slightest bit of pain. He is very attentive to patient comfort.

    Sherman, Dr. Matthew J.
I saw this therapist four times over three months. The first appointment was intake. I just talked about all the different areas in my life I was hoping to improve, and she asked questions from a list. The second appointment was very helpful as she explained in depth that I simply could not accomplish all those things! :) We had a productive conversation. Then things went downhill. I'm a credentialled teacher who gave up working outside the home and am now homeschooling one very independent kid. I had three different situations with adults that I hoped to address and improve. I was quite explicit about those being my goals. I said one thing about having a little more trouble with time management since staying home with my daughte, and Anabel really latched on to it. She told me that being a SAHM is the hardest job in the world, because you never have time to yourself. I told her that actually my husband gives me lots of time and my daughter runs off and plays at the parkfor 3-4 hours once or twice a week, while I work on things I bring and visit with my friends. She told me that didn't count! I said that wasn't what I was there to talk about and actually my life is much more fun and less exhausting than the lives of my working mom friends. She told me that I should find a class for my daughter to take because kids always perform better for other people! I told her I was not at all concerned about my child's behavior and uninterested in enrolling her in a class. Then, this takes the cake, instead of focussing back on my ACTUAL problems she got all excited and started telling me about how I should bake cookies with my daughter so she can learn math! Mind you, I'm a credentialed teacher, and that's the 2nd or 3rd biggest homeschooling cliche. For her to say I have a hard life once, fine, probably some moms need to hear it. But after all my reasonable arguments to the contrary, the next visit she started in on the "Being a stay at home mom is the HARDEST JOB IN THE WORLD because you NEVER HAVE TIME TO YOURSELF" thing again.
I was also quite clear that I wanted someone who was focussed on goal-setting and having tasks for me to address after every visit to make real progress instead of just talking. We set a goal for me to make more time to address goals by limiting a time-wasting activity at our third appointment. At the end of the fourth appointment she remembered to ask me how that went. I told her I did well at the beginning of the week but that when a stressful situation arose that I found it extremely hard to limit myself and didn't as much. She told me something along the lines of I wasn't going to accomplish anything unless I chose a goal and stuck to it bye! I was stunned. Most people have trouble making goals and sticking to them, and many people who go to therapy are looking for ways to get better at that. I sort expected a little more exploration of what was getting in my way and what I could do to address it. So, I put in for a transfer to a new therapist.
This is a really bad therapist for a homeschooler or stay at home mom. In retrospect she is a full-time working mom of 2 so her beliefs may be healthy for her but they really blocked her being able to listen effectively to me or help me while I was living in a very different situation.
