PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN RESOLVED TO MY SATISFACTION While Day 1 (Packing Day) seemed great at the time, I have to change my assessment after realizing the full impact of the quake and aftershocks. They asked that I review them on Yelp before they left that day.
First:  One of the girls who packed us up was working sick.  She claimed to not be contagious, but my whole family was sick several days later, and barely better for Christmas.  Holiday prep was not fun with that nasty cold.  Don't work sick!!
Next: A different team of five guys came on Day 2 to move the stuff that was supposed to have been packed on Day 1.  Well, after a 15-hour day (I lived a normal life-3 Bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, small alcove office, total 1400 sf), they still didn't have everything packed into the truck.  I knew that the Day 1 crew didn't pack liquids for whatever liability reason they have, but I didn't realize they had missed whole cabinets--lesson learned: do a THOROUGH walkthrough before you let anyone ever go!!
My husband and I have had to make four trips with two SUV's PLUS ask a friend with a pickup to help me out because they didn't take ANYTHING from the two upstairs bathrooms (I had to bring that on our actual moving day, since the truck just left without it), they left a (packed in acid-free boxes by me ahead of time) valuable antique doll collection on closet shelves, none of my small garden tools, and not a single potted plant--I only wanted to bring a couple--plus loads of other serveware and kitchen and garage items.
What if I were moving across country, or not keeping the old house?  I'd be completely up a creek!!
Third:  Five pieces of furniture, including the small upright piano, two dressers, and the refrigerator (the freezer handle will never work properly again),  have serious gouges and scratches.  None individually qualifies for insurance reimbursement since I selected a $1000 deductible, not realizing that the $1000 wasn't an aggregate number, but for each item damaged.
Finally:  As soon as I got through some of the work and realized the magnitude of North Star's mediocrity and borderline incompetence for this move, I called the company and spoke to a representative to explain what happened and ask that they at least refund the overtime charges, if not apply a modest discount retroactively.  He promised to call the next business day, which would have been Monday, Feb 8.  Here's what I've heard:  CRICKETS. Nothing.  Zip.  Nada.
I've shared this review on Yelp as well.  I'm disappointed beyond belief.  Not to mention it's back to the drawing board to find a good mover for our office.

We bought the Angies deal of $268 for two movers (with supplies) and a truck for three hours.. thought that would be enough given what there was to move.
The two movers showed up on time at 9:10 .. Everything was boxed, but they did let us use two wardrobe boxes, which was nice of them. The furniture was wrapped well and everything was loaded by 10:30
I went to work and my wife went to supervise moving her fathers items to the new apt. I then get a call from the movers that they can't get in the gate. Well there is no gate, so they are at the wrong address. I give them my wife's number so they can call her for help finding the right place.
Later I call to see if they made it and all was well. Except my wife told me she was TOLD that the movers EXPECT a tip at the end of 20 to 40%?!?!  what? Hey, I'm all for tipping good work and I was planning on doing so, but how professional is it to tell someone you expect a tip.. and who tips 40% for anything? The conversation was like "We typically get a tip and most people give between 20 and 40 percent. We have families..." I assume they get a wage.. the tip is a bonus, not something one is guilted into.
I decided to leave work and go over to help. I get there and they are moving stuff in. At the end there was only the mattress left to bring up, so I go down to our truck to get some pictures and I see the movers folding moving blankets and organizing their truck. So, I guess that's on MY dime? .. once they were done folding they brought up the last item (bed). The lead mover says, "ok, all done!" and I go in to sign the paper. I sign and hand him a $50 tip. I think we're done and he is still in there.. I got a feeling he was disappointed in the tip.. after a bit he calls me back in and says I owe more since we went over the three hours. They started at 9:10 (well, they arrived at 9:10 and started a bit after due to paperwork) and "ended" at 1pm... I was told that was 4.5 hours due to double drive time, which was fine with me, so I paid another $115.
So, they were on time, and when I was there they moved at a good pace. They were also VERY polite.
But, asking for a tip, and suggesting between 20 and 40 percent was out of line.. I also didn't like that they folded blankets before bringing up the last load, but that's minor. More annoyed at being told to tip.
We are moving our house next week and I was going to use this company, but I'm not sure MY family can afford a 40% tip on a $900 move. I'm also concerned that they will remember that I "only" gave them $50 and my service will be less. So, I found another mover on Angies list for that one.

I just recently purchased a new condo, and the previous tenant left behind a satellite dish which was bolted to the roof and stucco of my unit. The dish was too heavy and high-up for me to remove safely. I didn't want to take the risk, so I contacted Sammees. Sam arrived at the appointed time and was punctual. He gave me a good price, considering I help out alittle. The task was finished within 5-10 minutes. He also provided me some good tips and guidelines on how to properly seal the holes caused by the bolts. Throughout the process Sam was courteous and professional. I highly recommend Sammees' and would definitely use them for future projects.

This was our first major move. We got all wise tips and tricks along with the supplies needed that saved us make net. Also there was not a single item broken when we opened the boxes in California.
