Above & Beyond Rain Gutters Inc
It went really well. Troy and his team did an excellent job. It was within my budget and time frame. They got it done just in time because it rained not long after. No more leaks and it looks great. The warranty was also exceptional. I appreciate working with Troy who is also 3 generations roofer. I highly recommend them.

    SOD Builders
We just finished our construction on our house which from design to last walk thru, has taken 5 weeks. Im a particular person with very high expectations. Adam and his professional crew, worked with us hand by hand from the design to the actual constructions including the completion in the exact way we could only wish for. We have heard so many nightmare stories regarding costs, change orders, lousy scheduling etc and even more from several friends and people we know that have done remodeling projects and wanted to avoid as many of these companies as possible. Before we decided to work with SOD builders, we talked to all the involved people to be sure that everyone knew what expectations we have from them all. SOD builders built what we asked for and during the work, they kept offering recommendations and improvements which was based off their skills to make sure we will end up with the best remodeling results. Everything is high quality and beautiful. The work was completed on time and on budget while by far exceeded our hopes and expectations.

    J R Rain Gutters
I was extremely pleased with the service provided by JR Rain Gutters. I contacted Oscar to make an appointment regarding gutter installation for my garage, he visited the site the next day, a very kind and professional young man, he gave me a fair price for installation; moreover, he volunteered to fix a damaged spout attached to my house. I decided to work with him instantly and was very pleased with the outcome. The quality of Oscar's & Adrian's work and service was extremely satisfactory. If you rate responsiveness highly, you will be very pleased with JR Rain Gutters. I highly recommend them.

    James White Painting

The estimate we received from Mr. White was well below the quotes we received from two(2) other painters.  When we accepted his proposal, the work commenced immediately.  Mr. White. came and did the power wash the next day after we signed the contract.  The team, led by Roger Camareno, foreman,  arrived the following day to commence with the prep. They took their time in prepping the wood as our house had not been painted in approximately 15-20 years.  They were extremely neat and careful as not to damage the brick. The team was very respectful of our property and paid very close  attention to detail.

We were somewhat reluctant because the price on the contract was much lower than the other two bids,  but once we met James White and felt his honesty, our fears disappeared and we knew we had made a good selection.  We would highly recommend this company .  The quality and workmanship was superior. We would use this company again.

    Build For You
The workmanship was good. Juan replaced the facia board and painted it. I provided the paint. The gutters look very nice and a very good match for the facia. The crew that installed them was very fast and did a nice job. The downspouts are very nice too but the color I had originally selected was different from the one installed. It is a much lighter green but looks ok and I can paint it to match the house if I want. I do need to do some touch up on the ends of the gutters to cover some calking they did. My concern is similar to the ones previously mentioned by others who had purchased the angies list deal. Very high pressure sales. I was told at the start that it would cost me 1800.00 less the Angies 249.00 credit towards the job. The problem was that the angies deal was for 50 feet of gutters and drain spouts material and installation included. I do understand that some facia had to be replaced but that was very over stated. In reality I was paying $1551.00 for the facia repair (which took about 2 hours) and about 23 feet of gutter and down spout. After much back and forth we did settled on an extra $800.00 dollars. Probably not the best deal but wanted to get it done. I wasn't sure if Ilan didn't understand the angies list deal he had advertise but was pretty sure that wasn't the case. Their scheduling was another problem. One gutter guy showed up the day I met with Ilan took measurements and showed me color chips and I was told he would be back the next day. That appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for the next week. I waited all day the next week and the guy never showed up. it was pretty frustrating. The new crew showed up the next day and finished the job. I think in a competitive bidding situation Build for you is probably a better fit. The reviews of their work are very impressive I would consider asking them to bid on any future work, but not an Angies list deal.

    ARNOLD RAIN GUTTER CLEANING
Andrew Arnold was great. He advised me of areas he recommended gutters as well as areas he believed I would not need him. The quality of his work was excellent. I would describe Andrew as experienced and honest. Highly recommend him and work.

    GWG Construction Inc
We hired GWG Construction to do a major refurbishing of our home.  We needed all the major systems replaced or upgraded as well as a kitchen remodel and bathroom remodel.  We were on a budget even though we needed a lot of work done.  Gernard (the owner) worked with us directly.  He listened to our needs, concerns and financial constraints and helped us decide where our dollars were best spent.

He walked us through the process step by step before we signed the contract and helped us decide which items were priority and where we could cut costs.  Once we decided what work we wanted done, we were given a fair price and provided with a detailed description of the work to be completed.   After signing the contract we were given a timeline which laid out when each phase of the work would be started and completed.During the construction phase, workers were at our home consistently, most weekdays and many times on the weekend.

Even though our house was vacant, the workers were respectful of our home and confined their equipment to the garage area.  As the work progressed we wanted to make several alterations to what was in our original contract.  Gernard helped us decide what we needed to accomplish our ideas.  We were allowed to add, delete and change some of the items contained in our original contract as the work progressed based on our budget and ideas.   With each change we made, we were provided with a written Change Order detailing the change in work and the change in cost if any, as well as an adjusted timeline for the completion of the work.

Throughout the process, we were able to reach Gernard through the office.  He would return our calls promptly. When we wanted to see him in person we could make an appointment through the office to meet with him at our home to get our questions answered or relay our ideas about the progress of the work. When the project was completed we had a walk through with Gernard to insure everything was completed to our satisfaction.  We were shown how to work the new features in the home (gas shut off, water heater pilot light, HVAC system ect).  We were invited to call the office if any issues with the work were to arise.

Two months after we moved back into the house we noticed some minor issues. (ie. chipped exterior stucco, a door not closing properly, and a garage light that wasn?t working).  We called the office and reported the items. Within a few days, Gernard along with his crew came to our home to review our issues and make the necessary repairs at no cost.

We are very satisfied with the quality of the work and the patient, professional service we received from GWG. We look forward to hiring them again.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
The roof on our home was a total disaster when we bought the (foreclosed) home.  Beyond the fact that it was old, there had been multiple weekend warrior projects done to the roof (& everywhere else), so that not only was it ugly due to it's age, it has strange overhangs, valleys and all kinds of steps & rises that were a total eyesore.  We nearly didn't purchase the house because of this.  Fortunately, Mickey and his crew came to the rescue.  I met and got estimates from 4 companies total. Supreme's was not the cheapest, in fact it was the most expensive. HOWEVER... in the end, the cost likely ended up being less than the others.  LET ME EXPLAIN: all the other roofing companies quoted me for a simple tear off & re-roof.  Some included a small percentage of "deck/lumber replacement", but most said that cost would be TBD.  Mickey & Supreme took a look and immediately said that it was clear (from how wavy the roof was along with the odd shapes, ridges, valleys that were contributing to leaks) that the roof would need to be re-decked.  Our house is a 50's Ranch Style home with tongue and groove, exposed planks and beams.  It was clear that there was no decking (plywood) above the T&G.  This was pretty common back in the day, but makes for a pretty flimsy roof and a poor surface.  Supreme gave me a "total cost involved" bid, with very few (& clear) limitations.  Mickey basically said "when we're done, this roof will be better than new, everything about it." He delivered on this promise.
They began the work on-time, shortly after signing the contract.  As soon as the tear-off happened, it was even more obvious how bad our roof was.  Not just visually, but rotten wood, a double-layered section (not 2 layers of shingles - literally a second roof built over the old roof - don't ask). Mickey and his crew replaced, repaired, reshaped, re-built as needed all these different areas of concern.  Mickey's attention to detail was second to none. As mentioned earlier, we have an exposed T&G ceiling in most of the house, this means that during a re-roof, dust & debris inevitably is coming through the seams in the T&G.  Mickey had his crew attach plastic sheeting diapers to the ceiling throughout the house as well as also covered our bed, dining table, sofa, etc.  He was very concerned about our walk-in closet, with all my wife's nice clothes.  He basically had all the shelves in there sheeted-off and sealed as well.  Construction of this type is a nightmare usually, and yes there was some understandable dirt & debris in the process.  But we lived at home during the weekish of work and we were fine.  The crew kept the job-site neat and tidy and all the guys were very curious.  Mickey was on-site basically every day to ensure that everything was going according to plan.  I'm a VERY PICKY and demanding person and walking the site with Mickey, he was pointing out little things that he wanted - just to go the extra mile (IE relocating our Satellite dish to the side fascia of the house, so that 1. it would not penetrate the roof and 2. that it would be less visible and ugly.
Bottom line is the job was done impeccably, from A-Z, "better than new" as Mickey promised.
I cannot think of anything less fun to spend $20k on then a roof frankly... can you?  I have to admit that in the end, i was glad to hand over the final payment to Supreme.  When people do good work, with integrity, it's a pleasure.  And ultimately, our home looks totally different now.
I will be contacting Mickey & Supreme again in the near future (I want them to build us a nice hill-side deck).  I doubt that i'll even shop the job around... with all the disasters you hear of in construction, and I've had my share of flaky contractors, why not go to somebody who's already proven trustworthy?
Thank you Mickey & Supreme Remodeling!

    Brothers Sheetmetal
In our new home we had discovered serious drainage issues after the last substantial rainfall.  We had flooding and finally figured out why we had so much wood rot. Sigh. We thought we would have make a lot of structural and landscape changes in order to keep our home from being destroyed by rain.
We have a house with a flat roof that dumps onto an addition that also has a flat roof.  The garage has a flat roof too.  Water would sheet off of all these structures and end up pooling in the same place and seeped into the doors of the addition.
Ralph came to give us an estimate and gave us fantastic suggestions.  This one area we had NO clue as what to do and he suggested a rain barrel.  We had not even thought of that!  This solution appealed to us on so many levels.  He told us in detail how all the gutter system and rain barrels would and could work.
He quickly and accurately accessed our problems and come up with money, energy and water saving solutions!!
The work took only 1/2 of a day. His workers showed up and started working from a detailed map. Ralph showed up about an hour later to make sure the work was going well and to answer any questions we may have had.  We are thrilled with the result.  We know everything works because we had to pressure wash the roof in order to apply some Henry's reflective coating to cool the house the following week of gutter installation.
We are EXTREMELY happy with Brother's sheet metal and would definitely hire them again.
FYI:  We bought the rain barrels and Brother's sheet metal installed.  They do not carry rain barrels.

    House Painting Inc
Excellent company!  I highly recommend them.
Recently, I had insulation blown into the walls of my 1939 house in Altadena.  As part of the work, the technicians had to drill through the exterior stucco about every 3 feet, in both the upper and lower sections, followed by patching the holes.  So, the exterior of my house looked like Swisscheese when they were done.  Unfortunately, the insulation guys didn't do a very good job with the stucco patches, so I knew I'd need a very good painter to make my house look good again.
Two different friends recommend James Lee (House Painting Inc.), so I looked him up on Angie's List as well as Yelp and saw all the glowing reviews.  I called for an estimate and got the response, "we can come by this afternoon if you are available" - talk about prompt service.  Mr. Lee walked the exterior, we discussed the level of stucco repair/clean-up needed, and he provided me a more-than-reasonable estimate on the spot.  I was so pleased with the reviews, Mr. Lee's attitude/professionalism, and the estimate (did I mention how reasonable it was!), I decided to go with House Painting Inc. right on the spot.
Mr. Lee was very flexible to the start date that I wanted and his 2-person team showed up promptly as promised.  They were able to complete the full exterior painting (as well as a couple of minor interior patches) within a week.
Overall, they did an EXCELLENT job and I couldn't be happier.  The amount of time spent on prep work and in fixing/cleaning-up the stucco patches was outstanding.  They protected all the landscaping (plants as well as the new pavers I had just installed) and there were no oversprays or spills anywhere.  They also removed all the gutter downspouts and patched/painted behind them (which it appears the previous painters/owners had not done).
Overall, I am more than pleased with the work performed (have I mentioned how reasonable the price was).  Very professional, high quality, prompt ...  all the great adjectives/adverbs you can use (but usually never have the opportunity) to describe a contractor.  I will definitely use Mr. Lee and House Painting Inc. for all my paint jobs in the future.
