    Guzman Contractors
Perfectly! When I need repairs on the first house, I spoke to several contractors. Carlos was specific about what he would do and the price was the best. He and his workers were always prompt, polite, and cleaned up afterwards. He is 100% trustworthy and I gladly gave him the key to my house to get work done when I wasn't home. When I moved to the new house and needed work done, I didn't even consider anyone else. And my dog loves him, too!

    JVP Construction Inc
JVP construction is definitely the best company that we have dealt with for a while! Shawn and his professional crew are very professional, hardworking people, straightforward and they know their trades inside out. The work was done on the best side while Shawn made sure to visit our house very often and to check the progress of it. His people came to our house each day so they will be able to finish the work on time and as Shawn promised us.

    The House Next Door
It didn't. An appointment had been made for their representative to come out and give an estimate. This was made with a door-to-door solicitor stating that 'The House Next Door' would be doing work in the neighborhood and did I have need of their services. I made an appointment, as was assured that they would call just prior to that time. So I arranged my schedule. And waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. No phone call, no representative. My guess is that, given the size/costs of work done per various Angie's List reviews, mine would be sufficiently smaller and not worth their time. So, unless losing an afternoon is not important, I would not recommend this company to anyone who's budgeted work is less than $3,000.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
Forensic contractors, surety bonds, State licensing board, Interpleader claimants, etc etc are all not so great things we are now informed about via a single construction experience for a pool and pergola via Supreme Remodeling. We contracted with Supreme in early February 2015. They broke ground in May 2015 citing delays with getting a permit for the pool due to water conservation. Nonetheless, they provided assurances the original completion date of June 2015 as not a problem. No extensions requested or needed however they completely missed this deadline along with others along the way. For this review lets focus on a single aspect, the pool. By mid-June the pool had been excavated, rebarred, shot-creted, and some plumbing in. See picture, as this is how the yard sat for some time. After the deadline had come and gone we did see coping but it wasnt again until February 2016, after begging for some movement or updates, and our own efforts to pull permits, handle their architect/surveyor/etc, we then got some progress in the form more concrete, pool tiles, and pool equipment. Unfortunately, they poured the concert without proper drainage within as outlined in the plans, so they did it along the side. Also, they forgot to run a number of conduit from the pump area to the other side of the yard. Moreover, there are two filters and for one they poured an odd shape without the sleeve in it, so there are no sleeves available to fit (or tops unless you heat and shave and bend one yourself!) One other item, the tile work in the pool were redone completely as countless tiles were chipped, cracked, or broken: see photos. Also, the bonding material they put underneath was too thick in many areas which causes white discoloration to come through the tiles and they are not level- it waves! All along communication was poor and many times we asked and followed up about deadlines, workers, daily and weekly work schedules and may times there was underperformance and lack of attention including odd statements. Twice asked for a list of subcontractors, and a materials break down. I was told two things: (a) this is not done in residential construction; and (b) you just pay lump some amounts along the way for general items because when you buy a necklace from a department store, you dont ask about the materials, who strung the pearls, where the clasp was from, or what each piece of it cost: just pay the whole amount. From the perspective of the pool, we had to redo what felt like a lot: all the tile work, all the electrical that supports it and the house itself as that was also an issue, and much of the pool equipment failed within days of being turned on but only after getting new a contractor.

    Steves Home Improvement
Steve was beyond tenacious, and knows intimately how the city works.  His repairs were creative, and was always polite, on time, and professional with the inspectors.  He made at least a dozen trips to the city and worked his way up to their management to get them to work with us.  He endured more inspector no-shows and reschedules than anyone should have to deal with, but was always upbeat and took the adversity in stride.  I could not ask for more.  He has done a number of craftsman home remodels for me in Portland and have always been more than satisfied with his work,  prices, and integrity.  He has a wide range of skills and subs that can get the job done at any level of difficulty or specialty.  The best part is you can trust him, he always tells the truth, and will never BS you.  That is rare for contractors these days.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
Our family had recently purchased a new home and we were looking for a contractor to do some upgrades. The home was in good shape for the most part we just wanted to make things a little more our own. We had a few bad experiences (like most) remodeling our previous home but we were in a brand new area so there was hope things would be different.
We went through the standard process of getting 3 bids for the entire project. We met Supreme last and they were by far the best. The other two bids were a little under Supremes but included much less work. We had a huge list of things we wanted upgraded including some kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, interior painting and much more... So the fact they we're giving us more 'bang for our buck' was the deciding factor.
I can attest to the other reviews here that they were very clean and considerate when working in our home. All the work was done on schedule and came out amazing. I can't sing their praises enough!

    Dino Herrera Masonry
Dino is the best at what he does. He really knows his work and his products.
During the design phase, we drove around my neighborhood and he pointed out a few that had fake river rock so that I would know the difference with what he was using. He also showed me cement work that was not done properly and would begin to crack within a few years. Though he used new bricks on our front porch for the fence, he had softened all the edges and roughened up their appearance to give them an older look that fits in perfectly with our 1928 house. We get many compliments on the work that he did and others in our neighborhood have asked for his phone number upon seeing the transformation he did on the property.
He does excellent work quickly and at a reasonable price.

I had two meetings scheduled with this service provider.  It canceled them both.  The first meeting it rescheduled, which was fine because the new date and time worked for me, too.  It canceled a second time stating a family emergency.  I never heard from it again.  I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.  It is a flake and completely unreliable.

    ***Update 03/01/15***

I never received another call from this service provider after he called and cancelled the second time.  He did not leave a voicemail as he states.  He is not telling the truth.  I would never call him again for anything.

    YourDeckBuilder.com
From start to finish, of a lengthy 12 month process, Matt and his crew were there all the way.  A drawn out and complicated permit process, caused many delays in the start of construction.  Matt was patient and always there for any questions, even during the permitting.  Once the job started, Matt and crew were again more than professional.  Above and beyond.
Throughout numerous construction jobs, I've never had a contractor and crew show up EVERY day without fail. Your Deck Builder did!   Professional all the way, Matt clearly communicated every detail that was occurring and took time to answer any questions. His knowledge of materials and construction proved invaluable, as several times design changes had to be made on the fly due to several enormous trees and the roots.  Matt listened, gave his input and was willing to accommodate our needs.
Not an easy job, Matt coordinated numerous details and made sure to always inform us.
The decks look fantastic and are a testament to Your Deck Builder's attention to detail, professionalism and construction knowledge!   This is truly a project that could not have been done without Matt and crew.  Working with them was a pleasure and I can only hope to be fortunate enough to use them again.  Great guy and beautiful work.

    Tudor Construction
Mark Tudor is a very talented craftsman and he constructed our new deck really well. It is extremely solid and expertly constructed Mr. Tudor was really great about the detail and the deck was perfectly executed. He's a great carpenter, and the project took less time than his estimate.
