The sales person, I think Bob? hope it's right name. came out promptly as scheduled. I showed him what I had on mind for upgrading equipment ( over 20 years old) repair & improvement. He asked if my equipment including the heater work. I replied yes. He advises no need to upgrade for now and wait for when having problems. There are some gaps on premier of the pool due to ground movement. The gaps can be repaired but will show color difference & be noticeable. The pebble tech surface still look good. Overall everything looks good. He suggests to wait until it gets worse and do it all together. I thought his suggestions were very honest, thoughtful for the customers. No doubt, I know who to call when we redo our pool. Thank you very much. It's nice to know a company like Allen Smith Pool & people work there are still around.

Pegasus Remodeling does high-quality remodeling work using crews that are experienced, skilled, and reliable. All of the remodeling work Pegasus did on our property was excellent. We recommend Pegasus highly.

4 years ago I paid Lou to fix and clean gas grill.  I paid him in full although he needed to finish the repair by ordering the electric starter and installing it.
He never came back or responded to emails and phone calls regarding the electric starter.
(I have email and phone history to prove it).
Since it was 4 years ago I thought let's let by-gones be by-gones and contacted him again - I told him I'd appreciate an estimate for repairing and cleaning gas grill and that I had no hard feelings or issues from 4 years ago and would appreciate simply a fair and honest estimate and repair.
AGAIN, no response...Nothing...He ripped me off the first time and I wanted to give him a second chance.
He is NOT reliable or ethical and when Angie's List has providers like this it only discredits the site.

After contacting a half dozen pool companies, and receiving bids from three of them, we settled on Atlas Pools, owned and operated by Tulio. They were not the least expensive bid. We chose them based on their profesionalism and references. First, Atlas has a "real office." It's not operated out of somebody's house. They have a reliable, full time crew, not just workers that they pick up as work comes in. The crew was phenomenal. You'd be hard pressed to find a harder working crew of 7 or 8 guys. Impressive.
The pool was plaster, 25 years since it was installed. Atlas blasted out all the old plaster and took the pool down to the concrete. We chose the mini-pebble finish. It's lovely. New tile all around above the waterline. Redid the attached spa as well in the same pebble and tile. All new pool equipment...heater, pumps, filter, etc. Really transformed the place. In fact, a picture of our new pool is now in the tile supplier's catalog (okay, it's a small picture, but there it is...).
I can't say enough about Tulio. Easy to work with. Makes sure everything is done correctly and that we're satisfied. We signed up for his monthly service. Again, not the least expensive out there, but the pool guy takes his time to do it right, as opposed to the three or four we've had in the past who zoomed in and zoomed out leaving behind a marginally serviced pool. Plus, my philosophy is to give the monthly service to the same company that installed the pool equipment. That way there is no finger pointing in case something goes wrong. Nothing has gone wrong. The office staff is friendly, helpful, and again, professional.
    Highly recommended.

I spoke w/Louis about coming to see our Magma Del Mar grill, approximately Friday March 07. He said to text him our address and he would let us know when he could come. I did and he texted and quot; Tues 3/11 at 3pm and quot; . I texted back confirming our address and his appointment time. 40 minutes after the agreed time I texted Lou and he texted back he was running 2 hours late and would be here around 6pm. This was hours ago and again, he did not call us to advise or text. It is now about 10pm and we have never heard from this man. Needless to say, the work was NEVER performed, nor were we contacted first, to let us know what was going on.....

After getting several estimates, I wasn't sure which one to choose. a while later, Kyle from SC Pool send me a follow up mail. In fact, he was only one of two who followed up to see. He was very knowledgeable & showed a few options. No pressure. I had a few questions for which he answered promptly. I felt if any problem happens, he would take care of it in the future. Then I decided on Kyle and set up a schedule. Phil from SC Pool showed up in time and did the work. Since then everything is working great. Pool water looks good.
I contacted Kyle about to see if I receive an invoice to pay or pay by the estimates. The invoice was sent right a way and I asked him if someone can drop off a canister for pool vac. Kyle arranged it for me next day.
Kyle & SC Pool Service is not only reasonable in prices but quality of work service, customer service are excellent. I'll use them definitely in the future and would refer to my friends.

The manufacturer is C-Thru Sunrooms.  The product is a 4-inch thick aluminum and vinyl solid roof 13' x 20' sunroom with an 8 ft. slider and a regular entry door.  There is no HVAC but it does have full electrical.  There are six windows plus transoms at the top and about 20 in. of wall beneath.  I'm especially impressed with the dual pane windows, which open from either side and have screens which are easily removed for cleaning.  There are several options for the windows as well as the finish for the walls.  I chose almond color which integrates well with my house. I was able to visit the manufacturer in Corona, CA to see the different options, and I would highly recommend doing that if you can.  The 4-inch thick room (as opposed to the 2-inch) has vinyl trim that covers most of the fasteners for a nice finished look.  A real negative I could mention is that this trim does not exactly mold well around the bumps in the structure, and leaves gaps and wrinkles that are noticeable.  It should be re-designed.  Another serious annoyance is that the design does not allow for window coverings.  There is only a tiny space available for drilling, and an unaware consumer could easily damage the structure.  Therefore I am having the company come back to install window coverings (at an additional cost).   The jury is still out on the insulating properties of the 4-inch walls.  It's winter and the room is cold, but B&B said this would improve once the floor is tiled (floor is the existing concrete slab).  The real test will come next summer because the sun heats up the rear of the house like a furnace.

Jeff Goldman was very thorough with his proposals.  We went through several versions before I made the final choices, and each time he emailed me detailed drawings and pricing.  The prep work involved removing two large masonry planters attached to the house, pouring several concrete patches, moving the water faucet, and building a concrete lip on which the room sits.  All this was done flawlessly.  A crew of 2-3 built and finished the room itself, and the company had an excellent painter re-texture and paint the stucco of the house which became the interior of the room.  The entire build took a month longer than projected.  There were a few unexplained delays and I would have appreciated more communication from the company.  However, once the structure was up, it was fully usable and the delay with the finish work was a minor issue.  The company did a thorough job with the small issues that cropped up such as replacing a couple of the aforementioned trim pieces.  All in all, I am happy with the way the room turned out and I'm very pleased with the job done by B&B.  I would not hesitate to use them again, and would recommend them.

Very bad. From day 1.  The story is a long one, but the synopsis is:
Contractor failed to obtain required city permits and the job was shut down day 1.
I lived with a backyard of mud from about 9/15 - 11/15, while the contractor obtained the needed permits. Hold ups included delays due to a patio cover plan that needed to be resubmitted after waiting 4 weeks for review/approval because one of the posts obstructed my outswing patio door. The contractor called this a "homeowner change", although plans were never provided for review before they were submitted to the city for permit approval.
Eventually a patio cover plan was approved, but I didn't get to review it first either. Again, I don't like the placement of the post.
My experience with this couple is that they were disorganized, do not know how to plan, and are unprofessional, just to name a few things. Numerous weeks of not hearing status, several instances of failing to do the promised tasks to move the project forward. One day, even a "forgot to go to the city" excuse which was not appreciated among so many delays. Several discussions about change requests that never were produced by Signature Patios, but they insist I approved "verbally".   Communication was very frustrating, instructions were not followed leading to removing or throwing away items that should not have been.
When I removed them from the site and cancelled the contract after numerous mistakes, miscommunications, and downright frustrations is when it got really ugly. I had estimated they completed less than 25% of the work (being generous) and since I had already paid them 31% of the contract price, I would lose about $3K on this project gone awry. I was pretty shocked when I received a final bill for an additional $3,900, representing about 49% of the total contract price.  After I sent cancelled checks to them showing I had pad $1,300 more than they record of, they reduced the amount, but the charges are still 42% of total contract price with less than 25% completion. She sent me emails demanding the money stating she needed to pay her workers, but what did she do with the money I already paid her that should have covered the demo cost and more?
The weirdest thing is that you cannot logically reason with this couple. I have tried to explain to them the math of work completion % and dollars earned, to no avail.
It looks like we are headed to court. I have to say I look forward to an objective 3rd party. I should have searched yelp first, there is a bad review of them in 2012 that I missed that indicated some of these same issues.

The thing that was remarkable about him is that every week he would personally call. He said that will cost $300 to detect the leak. He came out, we couldn't detect the leak and we still have a leak but he didn't charge us anything because he couldn't find the leak. He gave us some tings to try so we are still working with him. But I just find that incredibly professional that he did all the work to determine that we didn't have leaks in certain areas and the fact that he couldn't pinpoint it, he said, "I can't charge you until I figure it out." I thought that was good.

Actually that was a little disappointing I had asked via email for an estimate and they responded but I didn't get anything then I subsequently called them and he said he will be out this way and would drop by, he did and took a look at the pool and indicated that he would pending an estimate maybe in a couple of days and I never got one. He didn't charge anything when he came out here. I didn't hear back something there was some explanation with respect to why I didn't get it but it will be good to know. Actually initial email it had everything in it however I was looking for was just a ballpark but I didn't one. After they get the initial email they just say and ldquo;thanks for your email I will be getting back to you right awayand rdquo; but nobody did. He is pretty punctual after he called and said he was gonna come by.
