  • My hat's off to Green Bay Remodeling for successfully completing, in a reasonable amount of time, this challenging Scandinavian-style bathroom remodel four flights up from the street. The challenge began years ago when the bathroom flooded causing dry rot and a mold infestation in the floor and the ceiling below. The mold remediation company had to completely gut the bathroom from several feet above the floor. When done, they recommended Green Bay as a company who could get on the job promptly, which they did. The remodel design was a collaborative effort, involving me (an architecture buff), my daughter (a landscape architect), and Green Bay's energetic Project Manager, Zack Ilinetsky. We agreed on a walk-in shower with no shower pan and a white tile surround. Zack suggested three wall boxes in the shower to break up the plain white, and, when I decided to avoid a bulky sink vanity, an elegant pedestal sink. He also suggested tiling the entire bathroom up to the window level, not just the shower. Zack, being knowledgeable about locally affordable bathroom fixtures, helped me keep the cost down why I indulged in ordering the finish materials online, thanks to Green Bay's policy of encouraging to choose them. I was impressed with the hard-working and technically skilled crew as they carried cement board and over a ton of tile up the four winding flights, creating a waterproof floor for the shower. Then a crisis occurred: the local planning department, which was in the midst of a reorganization, sent a plumbing inspector unfamiliar with the local code, who threatened us with having to tear up the beautiful water-tested floor! Zack really showed his energy and determination, going to the planning department and explaining the technical details. They understood and sent us another inspector who green-lighted completion of this ambitious remodel. Another unexpected treat Zack provided was the advanced ceiling fan with Bluetooth stereo speakers and a blue night-light. I can play music from my smartphone while enjoying my shower.  An automatic on-off switch for the new recessed LED ceiling lights was also installed. Having taken a luxurious shower in my new high-style bathroom (that's a pre-existing sauna behind the wooden door, by the way), I am now ready to show off my gorgeous new bathroom to the world. • We wanted to sell our house and our agent recommended us to remodel completely the bathrooms at the house which gave us a tight deadline for that (only two weeks) bathrooms remodeling. We contacted several companies and at the end, we went with A quality construction since they guaranteed to complete the work within our deadlines and our research on them revealed that they are extremely reliable. Colin was our project manager and he made sure that the work will start the following day and that the crew will complete the daily tasks while focusing on the quality of the work. The bathrooms were completed within the time frame and we want to thank A Quality construction for the hard work that was done! They gave us a great quality results.

  • We hired SOD builders to do a complete kitchen remodeling and enlarge the existing space by expanding the walls several feet to the patio area. The new kitchen included the installation of the upper and lower cabinets, new paint, new backsplash, marble counter top, LED lighting and new dishwasher, stove and range. Allen, the project manager and Shirael (the lady that we worked with in regards to all the documents, payments and permits) from the office who did an outstanding job helping us. During the work, we clearly noticed that they were always made sure that the costs will remain the same and won’t pass the budget that was set at first and they made sure the job was done accurately. All the sub-contractors that they employed for our house (carpenters, electricians, painters etc.) were outstanding, qualified and experienced. We were very fascinated that our project Allen was able to complete the entire kitchen few days earlier than he promised us. We were always given a personal attention by Allen, who was very good in communication and organized and by Shirael. The new kitchen looks perfect and very useful and we strongly recommend them and we will hire them again for any remodeling project we may have.

  • They worked very **** ** this project, and did not give up until the system worked correctly and reliably. In fact, it now works better than it ever has, probably because of the rewiring of the panels to give a higher voltage. On a typical sunny day, we are using about 3 kwh over the 24 hour period; without the solar panels, we would be purchasing about 13 kwh.

  • Hi, We recently installed 14 solar panels on our south-facing roof in Albany. I started by checking out about ten solar installation companies. Based upon their on-line presentations and reviews, I narrowed the field down to five companies. I asked each company to make us a proposal. Some companies came by in person, and others made their proposals based upon on-line projections of our roof. From these proposals I learned that there was a variety of arrays to chose from, a myriad of solar panels and productivities to choose from, and inverters, micro-inverters, and optimizers to choose from. I kept asking the five companies for new (and more productive) options. One thing I learned from all five was that it was not cost-effective to oversize the system. Over a few weeks I received 21 different (ascending) proposals from the five companies. Ultimately, I based my decision on Confidence in the Company, and System Cost per installed watt. A1 Sun was my first choice of a company and they delivered. I cannot recommend A1 Sun high enough! I signed a contract with them on a Monday and I was producing solar on a Friday eleven days later. I can’t say enough about the installation process. A1’s technicians arrived on time, were thoughtful and courteous, addressed our concerns, and cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis. The installation was completed far in advance of our expectations.

  • We went with John based on other reviews here and his competitive bid but thoroughly regret it. The day he started the job, he told us the labor would double if we wanted the texture of the wall to be smooth. Why wasn't this discussed upfront before we gave him the job?   Unfortunately, we didn't let him go on the first day, and he continued with the work. He actually made assumptions on the electrical work, and now that has to be redone. He didn't finish the work before leaving on vacation and billed us for the entire project . I asked him to resubmit the invoice for the work done up until that point, and the labor costs listed were much higher than expected. When asked why the labor costs were so high, he became defensive and told us we were trying to take advantage of him. We assured him that we wanted to compensate him fairly but didn't understand the logic of his invoice. I asked that he explain how he had planned to break up the labor costs originally, and he refused to answer that question. Instead, he berated us with insults and threatened to seek "legal action" if we didn't pay him right away. After we insisted a few times, he did submit receipts for materials purchased, which showed he bought equipment (e.g., an electric stapler) that he kept for future jobs. We paid him to get him out of our hair and glad that we are moving forward with someone else. Lesson learned: Listen to your gut the first time around; otherwise, you'll be paying for it some way or another.

  • Carlos and his team were very professional and did high quality work. I would definitely use them again. The price was a bit higher than another electrician's quote, but the work was different in scope (with Carlos paying much more attention to what is required by code) and with Carlos implementing a solution that was much cleaner than the other provider proposed. Great job, Carlos!

  • Nate has been to multiple listings that I have represented. He has also showed up for buyer's trying to figure out their home inspection report- he has been detailed and organized and really looking out for the actual customer- telling them what is an important and quot;fixand quot; and what would be considered an upgrade - but best of all, he is affordable and not trying to waste anyone's money- his ethics are and quot;highand quot;. Also, he works with multiple real estate agents, home inspectors, city inspectors around the Bay Area and the regular public so he knows how to handle any situation.

  • Overall, I give All Pro high marks for their professionalism and customer service - all three folks we dealt with were excellent.  We're very happy to have the work done and I'd definitely use them again.

  • I felt the $200 price was high for changing out 2 cgi covers and correcting a misinstalled 3 pronge light switch. I wasn't happy that twice Budget missed the appointment time frame (to be fair, first time they called and said running late and Michael got to me fairly soon afterward). Second time, now for service, an emergency on their end caused me to not get service on day I set aside for scheduled service. Finally, I never got e-mail receipt I was promised. The work was done safely and Michael is an acceptable service provider.
