    Hansen Landscape Contractor
Hansen is overall and fantastic contractor to work with. They have a very clear process that guides you through from design to build to handoff back to us, their work is stellar, their crews are punctual and professional. We did both back and front yard and the designer encouraged us to dream big with the overall design, but was able to piece it out in such a way that we could build pieces and save some for later. Even though we only did parts of the overall design, I'm still left with the nicest yards of anyone I know.

    Green Lane Tree Services Inc
It took followup calls from me to get the work scheduled, even after we had agreed on work and price estimate, and I had expressed concern that the job be completed before first rains. Actual work was well-done, though I had to supervise and request specific cuts and shaping. Crew was responsive to my wishes. Cleanup left something to be desired, but generally satisfactory. I'd gladly use them again (this tree requires almost annual work) and would recommend them to others.

Army Of One Landscaping & Lawncare, LLC
Matt takes ownership of his jobs. He clearly understands that a good relationship with his client is the formula to making sure his business is successful. The team is capable of completing a variety of home/yard improvement projects and when hired to do the job, they get the job done! We recently purchased a coastal property that although was well kept, the exterior grounds were overdue for grooming and regular maintenance. Like many coastal home owners, the living space outside of our home is the part we enjoy the most, so we only wanted to hire someone we could trust to do a good job in maintaining it. Matt not only takes pride in the work but we really believe he treats our home as if its his own. That kind of commitment is hard to find these days. After interviewing several contractors (some recommended by my neighbors and realtor) and trying out "2 of the best", we were feeling like it might be hopeless to find someone for this very important job. We didn't want to settle for substandard maintenance. After all, other than our family, this home is one of our most precious possession…it deserves more. I was just about to give up when I discovered Army of One. Being that we are Army veterans, I had a good feeling about this service provider. My instincts proved to be true and more. Don’t go through the headache of searching and trying out substandard contractors. I am writing this review because I did and I want others to benefit from my experience. As a benefactor of the reviews from Angie's List, I am a believer in the value of sharing and I am sharing the good work that Army of One has done for our home. We have hired them to perform the regular maintenance of our lawn and have signed them on for several more projects. What you will experience when hiring this business: 1. Professional demeanor 2. Timely response 3. Trustworthy 4. Quality work using quality equipment 5. Knowledge of the ingredients for a healthy lawn and beautiful yard 6. Resourceful in using best value local suppliers; extending the savings to you

EXCELLENT! Fantastic! They were efficient, professional, friendly, customer conscious, mindful of neighbor's vehicles and yards. Other than the gaping hole left in the sky by the tree being gone, you'd never know they had been there. Swept up everything. Even did stump grinding, leaving the chips to resurface our now usable back yard!

    Skyline Tree Service Inc
It took a while to get the appointment, but they got right to it when we finally got it. They took down a huge maple. They were very considerate and professional. Would definitively use them again.

Contractor was on time, worked to solve access problems to get the stump grinder into a tight patio. I had another stump I needed removed and they did that for me as well for the original quoted price. Nice crew, very professional. Would call them again.

    Traverso Tree Service, Inc
We needed to reschedule a few times, and they were extremely accommodating and responsive. Totally satisfied with the estimate, it seemed reasonable and thorough, and they provided some extra tips on a few other trees in the yard. Unfortunately, due to travel distance it was out of our budget (they're in Martinez; we're in Alameda). Otherwise I would definitely hire them. :)

For the most part, very well! The tree looks WONDERFUL now. It's much thinner, cleaner, and more manageable. They also gave me a great deal.
    A couple of notes:
    1. There was a branch that fell on another one, causing the lower one to break. They asked me to pay a little more to take the bigger branch down. I was a little surprised by that, but given that they gave me such a good price to begin with, I was fine with it.
    2. They got a little tired toward the end of the day, so the bottom of the tree is slightly scruffier than I would've liked. However, this was minor, and I was able to do a little more trimming myself easily, as these branches were low.
All in all, I'd definitely recommend these guys. I've seen some really crappy tree trimming jobs in my days, and this was among the best I've seen. They definitely live up to the and quot;artisticand quot; name - our tree was trimmed back 60-70%, but still looks beautiful.

Contra Costa Tree and Stump Removal.
What a great service.  Bruce came to grind out some stumps.  We had talked on the phone and he asked where they were and how big and if they were in a clear area.  Well, I said yes but it turns out that right up next to a house or a fence or a concrete walkway is not a clear area.  Bruce couldn't use his stump grinder on two of them and had to dig them out by hand.  No change in quote price though, which I thought was great.
Along the way, while digging one of the stumps out by hand, Bruce bumped one of the sprinkler pipes nearby and because it was improperly installed by the previous homeowner, one of the joints failed and, also due to being installed without a nearby shutoff value, Bruce had to shut the water off to the house to get it to stop forming a lake in my front yard.
I went to the store and grabbed some PVC cement but it the joint wouldn't hold.  I was really up a creek, having to go to work and not really being any good at installing PVC.  Bruce offered to go to the hardware store, return and fix the sprinklers himself for almost like $25 + costs.  And fix it he did.  No problems.
Can't say enough good stuff about Bruce.  Nice guy, great work, solid professional.  I'd hire him again in a second.

    Ponderosa Tree Service
It went extremely well. Michael's staff is very professional and friendly, from the moment you call the office, to the final clean up. Michael and Javier showed up promptly to provide the estimate, John worked with me to revise the estimate, and the appointment was made very quickly for the following week. The pruning team arrived and started to work in the back yard, then the cleanup team arrived, and then the stump-grinding crew. I was kept apprised at all times of what they were doing, and when they had questions, they didn't proceed with the work until we were both in agreement. The trees were pruned beautifully - Francisco is, indeed, an artist - and the shrubs were removed so professionally that you'd never think any large, overgrown plant had ever been there. Safety is clearly important, as everyone wore hard hats, harnesses, and safety goggles. They took extra care with the plants next to the house, and were very mindful of my neighbors' yards. They left my yard cleaner than when they arrived. Ponderosa's work is outstanding and their prices are very competitive. I don't plan on using anyone else to care for my trees and shrubs.
