    Haven Day Spa
Patty, my massage provider, did a fabulous job on my sore tight hamstrings. On my first run after my massage I noticed a huge difference in my stride length and overall ease of running. Never before have I had any treatment that was so effective in improving my performance and overall sense of well being. Patty continues to improve her techniques through private consultations and viewing of videos from leaders in her field.

    Beverly Hills Pediatric Dental Group
The assistant was very pleasant whose voice reminded me of any Disney Princess. She explained to my daughter what was about to happen. While the Dr. Smith was performing on my daughter, she was next to her to calm her down. Dr. Smith was also very nice and earned my daughter's smile.

    Eugene Steeb DDS
I've been going to Dr. Steeb for the past 18 years, and I'd highly recommend his services.  He's always clear-cut when explaining procedures as well as their costs, he has an excellent network of specialists, and I'm seldom waiting more than ten minutes when I do show for an appointment.

Univ. of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry
It is a dental school and they have a clinic.  They are terrific; they are also very honest and upfront.  It is a brand new building and it is a dental school so you have got the professors that teach dentistry there overseeing everything.  As for arability one has to make appointment unless it is an emergency and they decide if it an emergency.  They are professional.

    Kaiser Oakland Medical Center
This was my first encounter with Kaiser. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience at Oakland Kaiser (Pediatric Dept). There were plenty of parking spots in the parking structure across the street from the pediatric dept. After we got to the pediatric floor, there was a receptionist that took care of all the pediatric appointments for all the doctors on that floor. We checked in with the receptionist and waited for about 5-10 min. before we were called. The nurse greeted us very pleasantly. She weighed and measured everything she needed to do for annual check up. Fairly soon, we were asked to wait in one of the examining rooms. The Dr. (Dr. Meera Tatapuddy) came in shortly thereafter and also greeted us very warmly. Since my daughter was a new patient, she asked for her immunization record which I am glad I brought, even though no one at Kaiser reminded us to. After the examination, Dr. Tatapuddy patiently answered all my questions and listed various ways to contact her or the dept. if I have any future questions.

    Larson, Dr. Karen N
I have been seeing her for 20 years. She is convenient. She is just right at the corner of my unit. Her office is really nice. It is very clean and organized. She takes her time to explain procedures and welcomes questions. The other thing is, most of the time you see a dental hygienist because she doesn't do the cleaning, the dental hygienist do. She just comes in afterwards and have a quick check to see if there are any more problems or whatsoever. The dental hygienists are also very skilled and they make sure that you don't meet any discomfort.

    Webster Orthopedics
After the Xray, the PA (patient assistant) read the results...which was not her job to do. She said she saw a lot of space around the top of the replacement and white space at the bottom where the shaft ended in my bone....she was of the opinion that it looked quite bad.
I then met with Dr. Peatman who also reviewed the Xray and he said essentially the same thing suggesting I needed a replacement sooner than later.
I've always been a little nervous with Dr. Peatman...he is a poor communicator...he'll touch you when your talking to stop you so he can say what he wants...and doesn't listen to me..and i am NOT an over communicator. That being said I received a 2nd opinion from a Dr. Goodman at Pacific Ortho. in SF. He took one look at the Xray and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my hip...I was stunned. The pain went away on it's own and I've had no recurrence.
Peatman did replace both of my knees, but I've suffered lower back pain and a very tight IT Band ever since.
I do not trust him, my feeling is that he's trying to maximize profits by telling patients they need surgery when they don't

    Kami, Dr. Barry G.
He is excellent, and has a wonderful staff. He has a Taj Mahal of a dentistry office, it is very beautiful, and it has onsite patient parking which is very difficult to get in Berkley. The availability is good. He has 4 dental hygienists that work in the office, and so it is a very functional office.

    Widenbaum, Dr. Jonathan J.
The preliminary health questionnaire was extremely long, including many pages on brain function. During the entire intake process, and throughout the several following appointments, we never discussed the results of the brain questionnaire at all.
Dr Widenbaum is professional and personable, but I always got the impression that he never once looked at my chart until he walked into the room. (so that reduced my trust factor significantly) I also did a lot of online research regarding the latest technology in blood and saliva testing for gluten sensitivity and food allergies. Dr Widenbaum seemed unaware of some of these tests.
All in all, there were several things about the overall office decor, administrative billing procedures, and general "energy" of the office that made me feel like I'd gone back in time about twenty years.
Since I am desirous of optimal health, and am willing to do just about anything possible to achieve it, I expect the same committed, cutting edge treatment from my doctors.
There was nothing significantly bad in this office, it was just not what I wanted and/or expected. I changed doctors after about three months of trying to make this office work for me.

Dr. Tonsberg is great. Kind, thoughtful and took the time to explain my situation and options. His staff was friendly and supportive, particularly Jennifer who did a terrific cleaning even though i made it challenging by not having been for over a year. I needed to have further periodontal work and Dr. Tonsberg referred me to a colleague who also turned out to be excellent.
