    Dr. Darin Bocian DPM
I was having a horrible time with some plantar fasciitis, to the point that I could not walk on it at all for intermittent periods of time. I spent quite a bit of time researching podiatrists in Tucson because I didn’t want to waste my time with ineffective treatments and ended up landing with Dr. Bocian. I chose him primarily because I knew he works with the UofA on leading edge research efforts, specifically with a YAG laser that seems to be the most effective treatment one could find. This turned out to be exactly the right answer because he is exactly what every person would be looking for in a doctor. His office is actually a 45 minute drive for me, but it’s worth every minute because he is personable and the most knowledgeable podiatrist in Tucson. I went in and his office staff was completely professional and friendly. Checked me in and got me right back, and Dr. Bocian came right in and began the evaluation. I explained what was going on – sharp pain spiking the bottom of my foot especially when I get out of bed in the morning – and he agreed it sounded like plantar fasciitis. He got out a sonogram-type imager and took a look inside my foot. He first showed me on the monitor what a healthy plantar fascia looks like with that machine, then what plantar fasciitis looks like, and then mine – the latter two looking almost identical. He then clearly explained what plantar fasciitis is and the available courses of treatment. He gave me a cortizone shot to help with immediate pain, but explained that was only temporary. I got a list of some exercises to do and a special compression sock, and we agreed if those didn’t help, the next step up would be some custom orthopedic inserts. If that didn’t work, the final step would be treatments with his YAG laser. I went a couple weeks with no relief from the exercises, so I went back and got the custom inserts. The way they make those was pretty cool – his assistant comes in with a calibrated metal frame that you put your foot in, and then she scans your foot with something resembling an iPad. She showed me the final scan, which was a detailed 3-D depiction of my foot with precise measurement. This was quite a bit easier and faster than dropping my foot in a bucket of plaster. I got my inserts a few days later, and the relief came within a week of me wearing them. This was 4-5 months ago, and I think I can safely say now the inserts cured my plantar fasciitis, as I have no issues getting out of bed, playing volleyball, playing basketball, or anything else that used to be debilitatingly painful. If you’re having any kind of problem similar to what I had, I cannot give Dr. Bocian a high enough recommendation, as he got my life back on track. Thank you so much Dr. Bocian!

Tony Martin Limb and Brace, LLC
I have been a client of Tony's for nearly 3 years. He is wonderful to work with. Recently, I had need for a custom brace that would allow me to walk again. The minute I put the brace on it was like heaven. It fit me to a "T". I wear it whenever possible. Excellent work and great to work with! I wouldn't work with anyone else.

Jeffrey Nelson MD Plastic Surgery Tucson
In May of 2019, I had a face and neck lift performed by Dr. Jeffrey Nelson. He recommended a chemical peel and also a little bit of work on my eyelids. I am extremely pleased with the results of my surgery. I have received numerous compliments from friends and acquaintances. However, I believe the best comment was when my daughter said, “Mom, you look like I remember you looking when I was growing up.” Dr. Nelson spends all the time you need to understand your procedure beforehand. He and his office staff are available as the healing proceeds after surgery.

It went badly! I do not typically write reviews, but felt to write one in this case as I am angry about my experience, which will be detailed below. I had gotten orthotics with lift on one side made at this place 10 years ago and had been happy with them. My feet changed over time, so needed a new pair. I went to a podiatrist and she examined me and agreed I needed a new set of orthotics and due to the leg discrepancy from an accident as a child she ordered the orthotics with the compensating lift on one side. Tony Martin forgot to place the order with the compensating lift. When I complained he had me wait while he put a piece of cork or something on one side with glue. Over the next few weeks the piece of cork or something came unglued and moved. The change in the location of the lift caused pain in the other leg and my back, I eventually examined the orthotics and found the problem. I went back to Tony Martins and complained again. He said he would fix it. I was called about 2 weeks later. He did glue something on the bottoms, but now I slip on one side with each step I take. I have already made another appointment with the podiatrist who prescribed the orthotics to get her help and perhaps send me to someone to do this correctly. I was happy with the orthotics and compensating lift on one side for my leg discrepancy made 10 years ago and never needed to go back or complain. I think this was made by the Senior Tony Martin. Now there is a younger Tony Martin (Junior) who has this shop and I don't think he has the same craftsmanship or caring in his genes. I think he made a mistake when ordering my orthotics and rather than reorder it properly, he tried to patch something on the orthotics that is not working for me. I can no longer recommend this place! I am not happy with what I have received! I will try to find an different place to get this done right as I value my health but I don't think that Tony Martin, Junior could care less!

I could write a book. But this dr. is demeaning he gives you a hassle every time you go into the office. Does not refill routine medications unless you make an appointment. I have had 4 office visits just to get my blood pressure under control. It is still is sky high. Now he wants me to make another appointment to talk about refilling my routine medicine. He told me not to tell any other drs that I had a bad heart valve. He told me to try a blood pressure medicine that I had already been on and I had side effects of edema. He told me to wear compression stockings. Are you kidding. I needed to be taken off that blood pressure medicine. Like I said I could go on and on. And I still have this problem all the time.

    Hanks, Dr. Stephen E.
PICS OF WHAT Hanks did, 4 months later, it wouldn't heal!!! if I were to give details of what happened to me, it would literally be a book. part of the biggest problem is you have to have your surgeries at the hospital behind them at Northwest medical center. dr. Hanks had performed a surgery on me before that worked out wonderful. however about a year later I started having weakness to the point where within two minutes of standing up I was bent over and it felt as though my body weigh 2,000 lb. I went to see him and he admitted that he did the hardware too tight on the previous fusion surgery knowing that I had scoliosis above that area. It caused me to blow a disc which is why I was having the problem. March 29th 2018 was absolutely most definitely the worst day of my life! because it has ruined! in order to fix what he screwed up and the fact that Southwest medical center dropped me, broken vertebrae, which is verified in the medical records, did not treat it nor tell the insurance company I got kicked out of the hospital because I wouldn't do my physical therapy. It was too **** painful. they gave me MRSA as well. I had cprrectivy surgery in CA, and now have 36 screws in my back! I cant bend, can barely reach to wipe after using the bathroom! Bathing is so scary. Hanks complete ignored me in the hospital once he realized his screw up. I HATE him, truly, for ruining my life, and he couldn't even say he was sorry!

The surgery went very well. It was done at the North West Surgical center which took very good care of me. The pain afterwards was able to be taken care of by regular tylenol. I kept ice on it for several days to keep the swelling down to a minimum and I believe that helped. Dr. Bocian had me come in a few days later for a drsg. change which was nice of him and he called that evening of surgery to see how I was doing. The surgery center called also to make sure I was doing well also. Over all I give them a A+. Thank you all and when able I will get the right foot done.

    First Chiropractic
I definitely recommend Dr. Alan Cross over at FIRST CHIROPRACTIC on Ina in Tucson (cross street is Old Father right next to Nico's Tacos). I am completely cured of an ongoing problem with my sacrum going out of alignment, a horrific pain in my right lower back that I had for 2 years. Dr. Cross gave me a free consultation and on my first appointment informed me my sacrum was rotated. I was surprised my old chiro never found that and Dr. Cross explained most chiros do not know how to adjust the sacrum. So he did a simple adjustment on my sacrum and he also did the ATLAS adjustment (this is the new therapy called "touchless chiropractic adjustment) and by the evening I felt fantastic!

Grinz Orthodontics I absolutely love Grinz Orthodontics... They know you by name when you arrive. I have had 2 family orthodontic treatments with them. ( as well as friends ) Their staff is very professional and their prices/plans are by far the best on the NW side for superb care. I shopped numerous ortho consults and they by far are the best hands down. They are located on the NW side near Ina & La Cholla.... Ask for Jessica C. - Tell her Jessica and Emma M. (nextdoor) referred you and YOU (new patient) will receive a discount :-) [*** Link removed ***]
