  • That is hard to tell because my daughter, granddaughter and I all go at the same time and I pay for all of us. So it is hard to know individually because each one is different.  He is awesome. He is an award winning stylist. He has got a whole bunch of trophies. It is A+ on everything.

  • Even on my first visit,, Nique quickly understood the right style for my hair, face and llifestyle. I was very impressed - not only with Nique, but with the salon as well. It is run so well, feels very friendly and relaxed, and feels like the stylists have the comfort and ability to be creative. Nique unlocked my hidden "pixie" with a cut that goes way beyond the ordinary. My husband was just as thrilled as I was. And that evening I got so many compliments on the new do. I'm older, but she unleashed my playful side. It really looks great! More than that, Nique gave me 100% of her attention as we chatted and she worker her magic. There was no hint of an aloof attitude (as I've experienced at some high end salons). She really knows her stuff but isn't hung up trying to prove something. Nique not only did all this, but she was careful to help me understand the best ways to handle my coarse, wavy, thick hair. Even showed me the best way to towel dry it which is what I usually do. You really can't go wrong with Nique, or it seems, anyone at the Altered Ego Salon in Tempe.

  • Although this place says they know how to cut curly hair, my hair was mercilessly chopped, much shorter than I asked for, and despite having a picture with me, my requests were ignored. It was so bad that Shana re-washed it, to remove the cream, and then recut the back the way it had been before.  She created crazy curls and when I said I did not want them--my wavy hair was enough--she dried it and straightened it (until it was frizzy) and then had to do the re-wash and cutting adjustments.  I feel like a shorn sheep! It is way too short (3-4 inches cut and not the 2 inches I requested). She promised to not cut it too short, but kept cutting. I told her I had a family event to go to and now I'm distressed at the way I will look at this event.  Very depressing!

  • I've had my hair cut at Babbitt's for years.  Julie, the owner, does a consistently good job.  However, about half the time, she is not in when I call to see if she's available.  I've had mixed results with the other barbers in her shop, so I only let Julie cut my hair.

  • The stylist was rude and made me feel stupid when I described to her what I wanted done. She talked down to me and made me feel very uncomfortable. She was unpleasant and honestly I am kind of disgusted by the whole thing. My hair color came out way too dark and my hair cut was uneven all over (so bad)! When wearing my hair down it was really obvious that it wasn't cut straight across, so I had to go somewhere else and have it fixed. I don't know how you could do that unless you were trying to botch it. She got dye all over my dress and it was totally ruined. She suggested I put hair spray on my dress when I get home. That was her solution. The salon called me to see how services went, and I called back and talked to a man about what happened. He suggested I come in and let another stylist "fix" my hair. I wasn't available that weekend and so he told me there wouldn't be anything that they could do. I had gotten a card from them in the mail to say thank you for being their customer and a bunch of nonsense about how they strive to be the best and etc.etc.etc... RIDICULOUS! Don't buy the facade on their website or the pleasant look when you walk in the salon. They will not actually do anything that sets them apart from any other place in ways that can be described as "best". I don't normally give bad reviews but the stylist I had was pretty bad, and I wasn't happy about the front desk guy's lack of responsiveness to my complaint. I don't even know if management is aware because I don't think that guy was management. For all I know there could be some good to this place, but that was definitely not my experience which is all I have to go off of.

  • She works with my hair and my ideas. She always seems to be able to get me in when I am desperate. She has the creativity to do what would look good with my hair. Her prices are reasonable. It is a very professional space. She is friendly, but not to friendly.

  • She is really terrific. I go there specifically because Cherry is there. If she were to go to another salon, I would go to the other salon too. She is my stylist. It is fairly convenient. It is a nice, clean, cheerful salon. It is customer-oriented. Cherry does a great job. I don't have trouble getting an appointment or getting in touch with them. They are moderately priced.

  • The cost is just for the cut, not including the color. The owner of this shop has been doing my hair for the last decade. She owns her own business, this is the second business she has owned. Her color is awesome, her cuts are wonderful, I've sent my sister there and she is very satisfied. It's just a fun place to go. It's one stop shopping, it's cut, it's color, it's washing, you don't have to go to different places.

  • I have been seeing a specific person there for over 10 years and her name is Geena Romney, and I have followed her from place to place. She knows what to do with my hair and is perfect and her prices are also reasonable. I have always been pleased with her and she is really busy, but she will get me in if I call her. It is one of those places where you get your own stations.

  • The girl that I see there is great and I have been seeing her for 6 years. I go in there to do my hair and she gives me suggestions and it turns out great and she is a friendly person to hang out with while you are getting your hair done. Their prices are also reasonable.
