Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Tempe

  • The operator refused to give a price estimate to replace springs over the phone, giving the explanation that a tech has to assess each unique situation. What unique situation? I have a standard garage door on the rental property in question. Should have realized this was a bad sign. On the positive side, they were able to send someone out the next day. Tech arrived within the prescribed time frame and assessed the situation. He then called me to tell me both springs should be replaced with their "premium" springs that will last at least 10 years. Cost: $543. When I questioned the huge amount, the tech offered a 5% discount. Since the garage needed to be fixed and I had a tenant needing it done, I was stuck at that point. I told him to go ahead and do it. I can't find a garage spring on Amazon or anywhere else that costs more than $30 each. The tech finished the replacement and called me 23 minutes later to collect payment. So $543-5%= $516 less $60 for parts = $456 for a service call and 23 minutes of labor. I am a chump I guess, but these guys are total crooks. They know you need your garage to open and they know they got you. By the way, average national cost for replacement of garage springs is $230. Wish I was wiser before I called these jokers.

  • I called at 8 am. Weston quoted me a price and said he could do the work that day, and would call back.. He came at 1:30 pm and was done by 2:00 pm. The price was just as he quoted, work was fast and efficient, and everything looks like a quality job to me. This is how all providers should work.

  • It went well. Our house is almost forty years old, and the garage floor is bowed. To seal the bottom of the door, they installed an extra wide gasket. Unfortunately, the gasket gets caught on the door trim on the way down and bends upward. The technician said to just reposition it as the door descends, and when the weather warms up and the door trim is not so stiff, the problem should go away. So that's what we're doing.

  • Work was performed very well. I think it was a little on the expensive side because they needed to install a new outdoor key code box which was not included in the estimate. They said my previous key code box would not work with new opener even though it was the same brand. All work was performed very well and quickly.

  • I was with Mike during the project and offered my help on portions of the project. I have worked Habitat for Humanity for 13 years and know quite a lot about construction. I was very impressed with Mike's attention to detail and never cutting corners. His conversions are built to code and he uses good materials. I would highly recommend him for a contractor

  • Took much longer than expected because the problem was compounded (once the obvious coil fix was made, garage door opener problem was revealed). I expressed concern that the job became much more complicated and costly after I approved initial estimate for repair. A-1 advisor reviewed work and revealed our Tech had actually under-charged us for his time and given us parts at cost. They additionally offered extended warranty at no cost for my piece of mind. Thanks, A-1!

  • Magnum was the only vendor out of 6 that called us back. They apologized for not being able to fix it that Sunday but would come first thing on Monday. We managed to get the door open - my wife holds several AZ weight lifting awards. The technician said the springs were undersized for the door. I asked him to replace with the right size and to replace all the rollers with high quality rollers. He had several types on his truck. The job was done in record time. The doors work great. The springs are hefty and are perfectly balanced. Great job. I would use again.

  • The tech replaced all of the garage door rollers (8) and sprayed them with lubricant, then tested the door to insure it was working well. He also mentioned that my door spring would need to be replaced soon.

  • A1 did indicate that they could come out this Monday night (two days from now), but again, why does it take them so long to fix a repeated problem of theirs in the first place?? If they had good customer service they would have made arrangements to come out the same day the problem was reported. As stated previously, this will likely cause them to lose us as a customer.

  • Weston, the owner, came out the same day that I initially called, gave us an estimate, and installed the door a few days later. Weston was courteous, professional, responsible, a man of integrity, and cleaned up very well after he was finished. The price was very fair and I would highly recommend him.
