Countertop Installation reviews in Tempe

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We first encountered KR Flooring when they came to give us a quote on flooring. They also mentioned that they did countertops and gave us a quote for that as well. We did not hire them for the flooring project, but we decided to give them a chance on the countertops. When we finally decided to go ahead with the countertop project, they gave us a slightly higher quote and said the price could be even lower if we went with something they had in stock. The price was not lowered even though we went with something they already had in stock. This was after we were told we could pick out the exact piece of granite, but the salesperson never showed up to the place they sent us to pick it out. They assured us we would be happy with what we got. We signed the contract and were told they would contact us to schedule. They didn't, we had to contact them. We set a schedule and needed them to be on schedule because of a previously planned trip and plans to have company from out of town. The day of the install arrived and no one showed. I tried calling, no one answered. Finally, someone called back. They said they couldn't come because it was raining. The office called and said the person would definitely install the next day and that the work would be done before our company arrived. The install person arrived early, but the person who was supposed to reconnect the water could not complete the job that day. We discovered a leak due to how they left the job and had to turn off the water to the whole house. They kept sending unqualified sub-contractors who could not complete the job, either because it was not their area of specialty or because they did not have the right equipment. Finally, after many unmet promises and unreturned calls, we insisted they hire a real plumber to finish the job. They did. They were in disbelief at the mess that had been left behind. After the plumbing was hooked up, KR needed to replace the board that was warped due to the leak. They were in no hurry, which was annoying becuase we could not put anything back under the sink until they finished the work. They finally finished the job two days before our company left and one day before a big birthday party we had previously planned. All the while, we could never get a supervisor or project manager to come and look at the mess they created. They told us they did not use subcontractors, but most of the people they sent admitted to being subcontractors and some even admitted they were not really trained to do what they were sent to do. KR Flooring told us they were firing people left and right and that they were doing some real soul-searching, that the company was just growing too fast or something. I hope they finally got their act together, but I would certainly never consider hiring them again.

  • Fantastic work. I would use them again and again. Kemi did a fantastic job, ask for him. Remodeled kitchen to sell home. House sold in three days, everyone commented about the kitchen pictures in the listing saying that is what brought them in and the kitchen was the favorite room of the remodel.

  • The entire team at Desert Mountain did a fabulous job for us on our new kitchen countertops. They fabricated the pieces to join them together behind the faucet in a way that you cannot even see the seam without knowing it’s there. The installation team was also professional, efficient and courteous. If you’re in the market for new countertops, I highly recommend Desert Mountain Countertops.

  • Great company to work with. Responds to any concerns without hesitation. Fair pricing and worked hard to help find options within our budget. Made sure the final product completely met our expectations!!

  • It went very well. It took a bit longer than expected but with a job this size, it is sometimes difficult to get all the sub-contractors to work on your schedule. Lon and Brian worked hard and were meticulous in detail. This is the fourth remodel done for me by Shower & Bath...they are the only ones I call when a new project comes up!

  • My kitchen is stunning. It looks twice as big as it did, and has a beautiful, fresh, breezy feel. Toro was wonderful from the time I first contacted him, and throughout completion the project. My biggest reason for hiring Toro over the other contractors was that he gave me great design ideas so I didn't have to hire a designer, or try to figure out things on my own. He addressed all my big and little concerns promptly, texting me every day to keep me in the loop regarding progress and plans for further stages of work. He even accompanied me to help me pick out new appliances. Doing an extensive remodel can be stressful and inconvenient, but Toro made this process as painless as possible, and the result was brilliant.

  • Since then, Lon's team has replace the garbage disposal in our 1969 home and installed a clean-out pipe (hadn't been one before) to the sewer, including plumbing work and sheetrock replacement. I call Lon for everything.

  • We were very satisfied with the work they did; we were especially impressed with how carefully they measured for the new countertops (they all fit like a glove) and how clean the fabrication and installation were. We did run into a problem with our drop-in sink: they chipped the original sink when removing it (we planned on reusing it) but reinstalled it anyway. We weren’t happy with that, nor with the positioning of the sink. But when we raised these issues with G3, they explained that the positioning was necessary for structural reasons (which we accepted) and agreed to credit us the cost of replacing the chipped sink with a new one. They also provided the labor for the sink swap free of charge. So our problems were resolved in a very professional manner and we ended up with a countertop installation that receives nothing but compliments from everyone who sees it.

  • Terrible. Paid top dollar and work was badly done, incorrectly measured, the workman cut off a 1/2" wide strip too much and glued it back on again, chips and other damage to the granite, plaster badly damaged, delays in any remedial work which is still not finished, Dave Dubei continues to ignore me despite my summary letter to him and request for completion, his promise to call me on July 15, and another reminder to him. He writes in response to other criticism "Communication is 100% important" to him. That's a joke. I have a complaint against him with AZ ROC in hand, will write again and to say how it went. UPDATE as of 8/30/16: Daniel Dubei got in touch and arranged for repairs. He advised that he has fired the crew that did the work due to multiple complaints and now has another crew in place. It's a pity it took so long to get to this stage, but at least we did.

  • Lon and his team did an outstanding job from start to finish. Lon was very instrumental in helping us focus on our vision and made great suggestions that made the finished product even better. He has an eye for detail, and high expectations for his work crew. Every worker was polite, responsive to questions, and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after each day, and in general took great care of our house. As far as cost, we obtained 3 bids initially. Shower and bath was competitive, but not the cheapest. However, quality of work was most important to us, as well as expertise in helping us make design decisions.  Lon and his team were excellent, and I highly recommend them.
