Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Surprise

Chris and his guys were just amazing. Our vision for the bath came out perfect with the work Chris did. He is so knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy and courteous. We would give him an A++++. We now may redo our tile floors and we would have no one else but Shipley and Sons do the work. He is such a nice person and knows construction.

Chris & his crew were great. Chris worked with us to ensure that we could get the spa bathroom we desired within our budget. From contract to finish the project went smoothly. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately. Our bathroom turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend Chris Shipley.

Wonderful job - the shower and enclosure were a challenge in a small bathroom. Mark Clay did the job; he took an ugly bathroom and turned it into a show piece. Mark was timely, professional, clean and made the project a perfect experience.

Kachina Kitchens was excellent to deal with. The owner came and measured our space and installation of the quartz countertops was done before promised and perfect. We picked this family owned co. because of the good reviews and would use them again. Highly recommend for their friendliness, quality workmanship and competitive pricing.

The bathroom remodel went extremely well. The master contractor Mark is a perfectionist.  He cleaned up his work everyday and was on time everyday. Our dog had to greet him daily.  We will recommend Mark with Handyman Connection every opportunity we can.

We told Salvador that once his workers started we wanted them to get the job done. We had a prior experience where a contractor took five months to do what should have been a six week job, so timing was important to us. Salvador and/or his subcontractors were here every day and each one of them was professional in their work and accommodating in making the changes we asked for after work began. Salvador was wonderful!!! This was by far the least stressful remodeling job we have ever been through, and we have been through many over the years. We would not hesitate to hire Salvador and SGM in the future for any remodeling or other construction needs that arise. Not only was SGM Construction the best contractor by far to work with, but his price was considerably cheaper than other bids we got, yet SGM did more work than what was outlined in the other bids. We felt the price was more than fair for the work that was done. We honestly could not be happier with the completed job. We LOVE our new master bathroom.

I can't say enough good things about Dave, the handyman who did our work, pleasant, hardworking, knowledgeable.
Of course, not everything went as planned.  When Dave removed the old sink and faucet, he discovered the leaking valve.  No problem, he had one in his truck. However, since the other valve was just as old, we asked him to replace it too. He drove to Home Depot and got one and replaced them both. We were charged only for the part.
After Dave carried the old sink out to his truck, he installed the new faucet on the new sink and tried to drop it in.  The hole was not standard.  Dave went over our choices: have someone recut the granite and he would come back and finish the job or put the old sink back with the new faucet.  Since there is nothing wrong with the sink, except that I hate it, he installed the new faucet on it and put it back in the countertop.
Next he did a beautiful job caulking the master bath shower.
When he was ready to leave, I asked him to look at the front door and tell me if it could fixed by just adjusting the plate or should it be replaced. He said it could be fixed and "would I like him to do it?"  I said "Sure"  And he did, with no extra charge.
We were completely pleased and satisfied with each of the nice people we dealt with at Handyman Connection.

I had my master bath remodeled as my husband is disabled.  Leonel came out and gave me a bid quickly with a great design.  They were not the least expensive but they had the best design and could begin the work quickly and get it done in the least amount of time.  They arrived promptly everyday and worked the whole day.  Cleaned up after themselves everyday very well.  They completed the job with one glitch with the tile and that was not their fault.  I was scheduled to be complete in 2 weeks but with the tile mix-up it took 3 weeks.  The built my vanity to my design and it is beautiful!  I have a beautiful granite shower and marble vanity.  I love my bathroom and it makes it so much easier to bath my husband and clean.   I would recommend this company to anyone and if I have another project they will be the first ones

For my project I chose to complete demolition myself and purchase most of the new materials prior to selecting a contractor to install.  I had a specific plan in mind to replace a combo tub/shower with a whirlpool tub and move the shower next to the tub.  I knew that it would be tight to fit this in my room but I thought that it would be doable.  I met with a few contractors before Shipley & Sons and received some bids to do exactly what I had in mind.  When I met with Chris (Shipley & Sons), he took the time to make detailed measurements and showed me exactly where the tub deck and shower would end up.  He was able to illustrate the end product that I was asking for, and I realized that I was not going to be happy with the size of the shower.  I appreciated the honest feedback and attention to detail.  Everyone who bid on my bathroom had the same opportunity to view the room which was already demo'ed down to the studs and slab floor as well as the actual tub I wanted to have installed which was sitting in my kitchen, but I do not feel that anyone did a better job than Chris of thinking about the end product up front before bidding.  He made some suggestions based on comparable projects that he had done, and I ended up changing my plan to not install the tub and instead to do a huge shower and extra bathroom storage (and no tub).  I hadn't even considered this as an option but I trusted Chris and I am very glad that I did.  I received a detailed estimate shortly after our meeting on same the day that I was told I would have it, and received answers to each of my questions about it.  Because of the detail, I had confidence that all of the work was covered and I would not get stuck with a bunch of change orders.
Chris did an excellent job at communicating with me throughout the course of the project.  I always knew when there would be workers in my house and they did a great job of keeping everything neat and clean.  On the first day, Chris introduced me to his workers before I left for work.  For the most part from there on, other than the progress made in the bathroom, I didn't see any evidence that they were there.  There was one Saturday that they worked while I was at home, but I was asked about it in advance and I did not have any issues with it.  There were no major issues that came up during construction and any decisions that I needed to make were brought to my attention right away.  As I was inspecting the work each evening, I had a few questions and concerns but Chris always got back to me right away, whether by phone, text, or email, explained exactly what was going on, and took care of anything that needed to be addressed.
I was a little anxious about picking tile going into the project but it ended up being easy, painless, and right at my budget.  I went to ProSource North Phoenix, met with Chris' account manager, talked about the project, showed her some photos of the room and the vanity/trim pieces, and within an half an hour had coordinating floor, shower wall, and shower pan tile picked out from samples in the showroom.  I got a ballpark price based on rough square foot measurements provided in the project estimate before I left and that was all I had to do.  Once I picked the tiles, ProSouce called Chris to give him the tile specs that I had picked, he gave ProSource the order quantities based on actual measurements and all of the bullnose pieces factored in, and then ProSource called me with the actual order quantity (which ended up being very close to the ballpark price) to approve my credit card charge.
Overall, the project went very well.  The schedule and costs that were communicated in the contract were met almost exactly.  There were no major surprises along the way and I am very happy with the quality of workmanship and the end product.
