Dr. Carolyn Duregger is the best vet we've ever had! She has been our vet for over 10 years. She loves all of the furry children that come to her as well as being truly concerned for their well being. She is thorough and knowledgeable. Her partner and staff are also knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and helpful. Currently, she performs acupuncture on my giant breed and large breed dogs. It's wonderful to see them play again! I would highly recommend this gifted vet and her staff!

They are outstanding. I can't say enough about them. It's the quality of the doctors there and the staff. That's everybody. I just can't say enough. When you're in trouble they help you out, when it's just general they are there. I don't know what else to say. They go out of their way to help you. They are not in for home visits, but again, they made an exception and that's what they're like. It all depends on what you have to go for, but they are in line, definitely, for what they charge. I have friends that go other places and these visits, just the office visits, it's right in line. What I like too, a couple years ago, if you got your dog the Parvo shot, you had to get it every year. They came out with things that were like a 3 year shot and they were right with it. It's not that they don't keep up with things, they really do. They are a really good veterinarian.

Their veterinarians are very good and I try to use Jeff Piper or Robin the lady veterinarian as well. The veterinarians and staff are very good at this business. They are very up to date with their equipment and they are very responsible as well.

When we adopted our german shepherd-golden retriever mix puppy in 2005, we began using Sun Lakes Animal Hospital as it was very near to our home.  We made an appointment as soon as we brought him home for his first exam and were told by the vet that he looked great.   Within a few weeks, he began having great difficulty in standing up; he would not bend his elbows but would push himself up with his front legs locked and limp badly for at least an hour.  Took him back to this vet several times and they could not pinpoint anything wrong, even after 2 or 3 sets of xrays (at approximately $300 each).  We were finally told that they could not see anything wrong on on the xrays and that we would need to see a specialist.   To make a long story short, at 6 months of age our puppy had to have surgery on both elbows (to the tune of more than $10,000).  We also discovered that our pup was prone to ear infections which were very painful for him as evidenced by violent headshaking, rubbing against walls and scratching day and night.  Sun Lakes Animal Hospital staff would clean his ears, provide us with drops and send us on our way, only to have the infections recur within a short period of time.   The very last straw was when we took him back to have his ears checked again and were told by the vet that he had a very bad bacterial infection in both ears.  The problem was that she did not provide us with any treatment or medications.   Obviously, we have never returned.

My dog needed his required vaccinations and I had noticed that he wasn't as energetic as he usually is. Dr. McComb gave Rascal a thorough exam and then discussed what he saw as health issues. Being sensitive to costs, Dr. McComb worked with me and together we decided which tests to give Rascal and which tests I didn't want, as well as deciding when to have some of his teeth extracted. I chose to have the surgery right away so it was scheduled within the week.
The doctor and his staff were very caring with Rascal and when I picked him up after the surgery, not only did I receive a full explanation of what they did but I was given a folder with post-surgery instructions, information on medicine and even full before-and-after pictures of his mouth. I was also given the option to take the extracted teeth (which I declined but appreciated the gesture). A few days after the surgery, the clinic gave me a call to check up on Rascal and to see if I had any questions. I had a question about one of his ears and was given prompt answers. Rascal had absolutely no issues and he healed faster than I expected (as verified by the doctor in his post-surgery exam).
As for the costs, I realize that veterinary costs are higher than what we would like to see and it is hard to have to pay and quot;up frontand quot;. Dr. McComb is sensitive to costs and I feel that he did everything he could to keep the costs down. Before I made the decision to go ahead with surgery, he gave me a price range of the potential cost depending on what he found and the actual cost came in slightly lower than expected (which was a great relief to me). I paid $125 for Rascal's exam, three vaccinations, medicine, various tests, etc. and $750 for the surgery which included the post-surgery exam a week later. I was very satisfied with the charges.
Rascal and I received a professional and courteous service but Crossroads went beyond that with the warmth and friendliness of both the doctor as well as his staff. My overall experience was a very positive one and I will be taking my other rescue to them next month.

I like that they are a small practice.  They don’t have a lot of services like the boarding and grooming, but they take care of the pet’s veterinary needs well.  They don’t cost as much as some of the places that have everything across the board.  I would continue to use them in the future.

The techs are great at this hospital. They see you before the vet does and take history and check signs. We got Dr. Flood as our vet and she is attentive, interested, caring and knowledgeable. She diagnosed an ear infection and started my dog on antibiotics even before the culture came back. The infection cleared up by the time we went for a follow-up visit. The only thing I didn't like it that they take the dogs out of the examining room to treat them. I prefer being with my dog while her ears are cleaned, nails are cut, etc.

After having two other veterinarians examine our dog, with no positive treatment or recommendations, Dr. Piper determined that the growth on our pet was a cancer tumor that could be removed. His operation and follow-up treatment were highly successful. Our dog has fully recovered with no visible affects.

DR. TOWLE IS VERY CARING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TAKES PLENTY OF TIME TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING WITH YOUR PET. SHE PERFORMED ACUPUNCTURE ON MY DIABETIC CAT AND HAS IMPROVED HIS QUALITY OF LIFE TREMENDOUSLY.
