Glass Repair reviews in Sun Lakes

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • D & L Glassworks did an amazing job removing, cutting and replacing 2 bathroom mirrors. The mirrors were not replaced until 2 months later while we waited for other remodeling projects to be completed. We received frequent follow-up calls, the pricing was very good and the job exceeded our expectations

This was the second time we have used Joel and will most definitely continue to do our windows.  Great guy.

  • Joel was very easy to communicate with and he was professional in his dealings with me.  Even though there was a small misunderstanding with regard to scheduling, Joel handled it in an incredibly professional manner.  He was courteous and polite, and he did a fantastic job on the windows, both inside and out.  I would most definitely call him again and would highly recommend him to others.

  • I explained the work on the phone to James and asked for him to come and do an estimate but he said he wouldn't but that the work could be completed in two 8 hour days.  To save money we did the removal work of taking out the mirrors and old countertop and removed all of the kitchen lighting.  When James showed up he said this is much more than 2 days work.  I said I explained to you on the phone and he told me it was hard to visualize.  I told him that was why I requested he come and do an estimate.  Keep in mind we had already done several hours of removal work.  We were in a time crunch so we decided to get as much done as possible in the 2 days we budgeted.  The first day the work seemed to go somewhat slow for the fact the removal was already done.  At the end of the first day when I met with James, I asked about removing some shelves in the bathroom and texturizing the area and he told me it would be another 4 hours of work.  I asked if we removed the shelves ourselves if that would help and he said they would be difficult to remove and was very evasive in offering any assistance to help me do myself.  We removed the shelves that night ourselves and it took 10 minutes.  The holes left were minimal.  The second morning of work I went to the house to ask James if it was still going to take 4 hours to fill the holes for the shelves because if it was I was going to have the painters do it.  When I got there James was not there yet so I drove to the store and came back 10 minutes later.  His truck was out front and the garage door was down,  I went into the house and called to him, but with no answer.  I was worried so I kept calling and he yelled he was in the bathroom.  So I waited another 10 minutes for him to finish his business so I could talk to him.  I would have thought that could have been taken care of at home or at the local McDonalds.  He did inform me that he hadn't started charging me yet.  I'm so glad I was not paying to use my bathroom.  I asked about the bathroom shelves and he said no it wouldn't take 4 hours so I said to go ahead and do it.  At the end of the second day, he had completed the first 2 jobs but was unable to do more than a few of the cabinet hinges.

*** In summary if you use James I would demand an in person estimate of the work.  The kitchen lighting was wired to a fan rheostat instead of the available light switch beside it.  He did come and fix it the next week after calling him 3 times.  The mud he used to patch the holes was left EVERYWHERE.  It had to be scraped off the counters, items on the counter and since I had removed the cabinet doors for him the dishes were exposed so there was mud splatted on all of the dishes.  I would have thought a professional would have been much neater or cleaned up after themselves. The patch work in the bathroom was awful.  My painters had to re-do.  The painter asked if we had tried to do ourselves and I said no we had hired it done.  Overall, I find James to be expensive, not very helpful and messy.

  • We were very impressed with the salesman.  He did a thorough job of explaining the quality of his products and why these were the best windows and doors on the market.  While Energy 1st was several hundred dollars higher with their estimate than the other two companies from whom we received quotes, we thought their features were worth the extra money.
The order arrived in a very reasonable amount of time and the installers came to install the windows and doors.  The people did a great job on the three windows.  We had to call them back to work on the doors again.  On one, the lock did not work.  On the other, the installer did a terrible job of caulking.  He was not the head installer and we think he was just shirking his duty.  The man whom they sent out to correct the problems did a beautiful job of fixing them and we are extremely pleased.

  • They were very responsive and came right out for measurements. They delivered as promised and the installation went smoothly. The doors have been in for a month now and they are working as advertised. They were happy to reinstall another glass door I was keeping and charged me a fair price for the work.

  • They were very good. I was kept informed of everything that was going on or scheduled to go on. They made a point for me to call if I had any problems or concerns at any time. Both Bathrooms Plus and the glass company they contracted were very open and honest with me, even if it made more work for them they were always pleasant. I had a very good experience and am beyond satisfied I will use Bathrooms Plus, again if needed.

  • D&L sent competent installers over to measure and set up the original proposal. They recommended against a couple of my ideas as either being too expensive or not safe. They went out of their way to cut a shower panel that the OEM shower company refused to attempt (because of breakage during manufacture) and it came out beautifully. Install was flawless and they were careful not to mess up the new Cherry cabinets or new marble flooring. They came back one time for a shower door adjustment and were very prompt. The overall look and feel of the job is fantastic!
