Bruno Nascimento - Health & Life Insurance Broker
Bruno did everything possible to get us any information we wanted and answered all questions, and there were a lot of them. Everything was so much clearer as we talked to Bruno and he patiently explained all the details of each choice. Positives and negatives. We finally made our decision and we are feeling so relieved because our new policy is all set to start!

    CVS Pharmacy
I have used them for a couple of years. They are pretty good compared to others we have been to. The price is fine, we have not had any problems with their pricing because we have insurance. There were a couple of times that some prescriptions got a little mixed up just on the volume. It was contacting the doctor and stuff, I had to intervene a couple of times because they would ask for prescription and it never came through. They could have better follow up with the prescription. They did good with the computer stuff and they knew all of that but like you would get a new hard copy from the doctor when your old prescription was still active. So, they take it and then they file it and then when the old prescription is up, they were asking for the new prescription. I would have to call them and they would say, 'we don't have a prescription.' I would say, 'You look in your file, you have a hard copy.' They were sending repeated requests for the prescription but it got better.

    Sunrise Medical
.I see one of the doctors at this medical center. His quality of care is generally good, however, oftentimes he runs late due to his working at the adjacent hospital.
I am having difficulty with a medication and my insurance. Rather than his office being pro-active in this process, I have been trying to work as an intermediary. After a week calling his office daily for over a week, the person handling my prescription authorization called me. I was advised that my prescription was number 300 and she would get to it when she can. I asked for an estimate in time...none was offered, in fact the response was rude.

The surgery went well and I cannot say enough for the entire surgical team. From the wonderful volunteers in the waiting room to the surgeons, nurses, and technicians, we got great care. Unfortunately there were medical complications that required time in ICU and an extended stay. This review is about my experiences as a patient's spouse, because I believe this hospital has room for improvement. Specifically, I have severe arthritis and cannot walk more than about 10-15 feet without severe pain. There are also other medical conditions that make it difficult to walk. Because of the location of his rooms, I faced long walks and agonizing pain to be with him. After the first day, I asked if someone could bring a wheelchair to take me from the ICU to the entrance. It clearly was a problem. His nurse was kind and had someone from the unit take me down. I was so appreciative. When I returned the next day, I asked the volunteers at the front desk for a wheelchair and they frowned and acted like I was bothering them. After that, any requests for a wheelchair were refused. I was told the transporters were for patients, and the volunteers were not there to help. So I limped and I aggravated my conditions. It was painful and embarrassing. His nurses on the unit understood my predicament but their supervisors told them they could not make an exception. When I shopped in the wellness gift shop, I was ignored and not offered help. The cafeteria is not impressive and requires a lot of walking to determine your options. Tray return areas are confusing. On a good note, they have lots of beverage choices and make great iced tea. But given the layout, boring choices, and hours, I found it much easier to just wait until I left each evening and go thru a nearby drive thru for a grilled chicken salad. Parking valet system is great, but not available on weekends or in the evening. As a disabled spouse, I would think long and hard before using this hospital again. Of course I want my husband to get the best medical care, but their policies limited my ability to be at his side.

Bruce was extremely helpful to me. I communicated mostly through e-mail after my initial call. He answered all of my questions (which were numerous) and responded very quickly. When I finally made my decision and filled out the application online with the insurance company, he verified that they had received it and that I will begin coverage on January 1st.

I would not hesitate to use Bruce again in the future if needed and I recommend him highly.

Enrollment was easy, and benefits clear to understand. Providers can change, but an on-line service provides the most current list of authorized providers. Customer service is easy to reach via an 800 number, and representatives are knowledgeable. Billing and payments are quick and easy to understand. Obtaining authorization for specialists is carefully explained in Tricare guidelines.

Terrific department and people. Everything went terrific and I was up and about in almost no time. All the rooms in that wing are private, and I even remember the food as being good. Would definitely choose this hospital again if necessary.

Next Care Urgent Care - Apache Junction
I have been to several Nextcare centers for various things, and this office at Lake Pleasant/Beardsley really stands apart from the rest. I have been to this particular urgent care center several times, and whether they are busy or not, the staff is always friendly and efficient. This particular office is staffed by several physicians assistants that report medical results to a physician who signs off on treatment/prescriptions. I have found them to be a very caring bunch. They take time to present your options, answer questions, and definitely don't make you feel like just want to get on to the next patient.. I have never waited more than a few minutes once shown to one of the exam rooms, and they kept me apprised of what was going on every few minutes as they were prepping equipment or consulting with colleagues. The only reason I am marking them down a category for a couple of things is that I didn't get quite as much info about how to care for a broken bone as I would have liked (they did suggest I follow up with a specialist). Also, I have gotten bills from them several times for an additional portion of a copay that wasn't charged at the time of visit.
I do appreciate that they do follow up calls 1-2 days after the visit to see how you are doing. And they have a great service called WAHOO that lets you call in and get on a wait list for a room. This has worked very well for me and minimizes the time I spend waiting in their lounge area.
I have had bad experiences at other Nextcare centers (being asked to fill out forms on a computer screen when I had a nauseating case of vertigo was fun) but I will go out of my way to go to this office, if possible. Going to urgent care is enough of a pain (sometimes literally) but at least they make the experience a little less bearable.

Banner Del E Webb Medical Center
This hospital was very good before Banner Del Webb took over.  Unfortunately, since the take over, it has changed for the worst.  Some staff is competent, and some aren't.  The ICU is very good, and sometimes they will call in staff  from other hospitals.  Banner Del Webb can be short staffed, and mistakes are made.  One time my husband almost overdosed on morphine because the nurse didn't know the schedule.

    Del E Webb Memorial Hospital
I would tell anyone not to go here. When my heart stopped, no one came to help me. The doctor started yelling, and no one else came. My husband got me transferred out of there. They don't diagnose you until you're almost dead.
