    SGM Construction LLC
We told Salvador that once his workers started we wanted them to get the job done. We had a prior experience where a contractor took five months to do what should have been a six week job, so timing was important to us. Salvador and/or his subcontractors were here every day and each one of them was professional in their work and accommodating in making the changes we asked for after work began. Salvador was wonderful!!! This was by far the least stressful remodeling job we have ever been through, and we have been through many over the years. We would not hesitate to hire Salvador and SGM in the future for any remodeling or other construction needs that arise. Not only was SGM Construction the best contractor by far to work with, but his price was considerably cheaper than other bids we got, yet SGM did more work than what was outlined in the other bids. We felt the price was more than fair for the work that was done. We honestly could not be happier with the completed job. We LOVE our new master bathroom.

    Shipley & Sons Construction Co
For my project I chose to complete demolition myself and purchase most of the new materials prior to selecting a contractor to install.  I had a specific plan in mind to replace a combo tub/shower with a whirlpool tub and move the shower next to the tub.  I knew that it would be tight to fit this in my room but I thought that it would be doable.  I met with a few contractors before Shipley & Sons and received some bids to do exactly what I had in mind.  When I met with Chris (Shipley & Sons), he took the time to make detailed measurements and showed me exactly where the tub deck and shower would end up.  He was able to illustrate the end product that I was asking for, and I realized that I was not going to be happy with the size of the shower.  I appreciated the honest feedback and attention to detail.  Everyone who bid on my bathroom had the same opportunity to view the room which was already demo'ed down to the studs and slab floor as well as the actual tub I wanted to have installed which was sitting in my kitchen, but I do not feel that anyone did a better job than Chris of thinking about the end product up front before bidding.  He made some suggestions based on comparable projects that he had done, and I ended up changing my plan to not install the tub and instead to do a huge shower and extra bathroom storage (and no tub).  I hadn't even considered this as an option but I trusted Chris and I am very glad that I did.  I received a detailed estimate shortly after our meeting on same the day that I was told I would have it, and received answers to each of my questions about it.  Because of the detail, I had confidence that all of the work was covered and I would not get stuck with a bunch of change orders.
Chris did an excellent job at communicating with me throughout the course of the project.  I always knew when there would be workers in my house and they did a great job of keeping everything neat and clean.  On the first day, Chris introduced me to his workers before I left for work.  For the most part from there on, other than the progress made in the bathroom, I didn't see any evidence that they were there.  There was one Saturday that they worked while I was at home, but I was asked about it in advance and I did not have any issues with it.  There were no major issues that came up during construction and any decisions that I needed to make were brought to my attention right away.  As I was inspecting the work each evening, I had a few questions and concerns but Chris always got back to me right away, whether by phone, text, or email, explained exactly what was going on, and took care of anything that needed to be addressed.
I was a little anxious about picking tile going into the project but it ended up being easy, painless, and right at my budget.  I went to ProSource North Phoenix, met with Chris' account manager, talked about the project, showed her some photos of the room and the vanity/trim pieces, and within an half an hour had coordinating floor, shower wall, and shower pan tile picked out from samples in the showroom.  I got a ballpark price based on rough square foot measurements provided in the project estimate before I left and that was all I had to do.  Once I picked the tiles, ProSouce called Chris to give him the tile specs that I had picked, he gave ProSource the order quantities based on actual measurements and all of the bullnose pieces factored in, and then ProSource called me with the actual order quantity (which ended up being very close to the ballpark price) to approve my credit card charge.
Overall, the project went very well.  The schedule and costs that were communicated in the contract were met almost exactly.  There were no major surprises along the way and I am very happy with the quality of workmanship and the end product.

    Avonti Kitchen and Bath
Alan and Greg responded promptly to my request and worked with my schedule.  The installers were prompt.  Also, they were neat in preparing and installing all material.  I didn't rate quality of unit because I haven't gotten a chance to use them yet.

    True View Windows and Glass
True View Windows replaced the rollers in my sliding glass door. Two men
came to do the job. They appeared to be very rushed and attacked the
door with crowbars and a sledge hammer. When the door was replaced on
its track, the weatherstripping was twisted. I mentioned this and the
workman said it was due to heat and sun, he had seen several that way. I
said that it wasn't in that condition before they worked on the door
and suggested that maybe it became twisted when he had the bottom off
the door. He told me he hadn't taken the door apart, only replaced the
rollers. I again said it wasn't that way before he worked on the door.
The workman began prying at the weatherstripping with a putty knife.
After working at it a bit, he told his companion that the door would
have to come out again. They removed the door, straightened the
weatherstripping and replaced the door. My complaint is that the track
is bent where they used crowbars, the finish on the door is scraped and
marred from the sledge hammer, and although better than at first, the
weatherstripping is not as it was before. The door certainly moves more
easily, but it makes a scraping noise as it nears its full open
position. I don't know why they were in such a rush. I feel that had
they taken a little more time and care, they could have done a better
job. I certainly will not call this company to work at my house again.

Rem A D Window Repair LLC
We had a window that was cracked that needed to be repaired due to it coming up as an issue during the inspection of our home we are selling.  I went to Angie's List to find a company who did window repair and found Rem A D.  I emailed my measurements and other details to get an approximate quote.  Debbie promptly emailed me back with the estimate.  It was a fair price, so I made an appointment for them to come out to measure.  Alberto was friendly and professional and arrived on time to take the measurements.  I asked if the price would change from the estimate so he called Debbie who confirmed it would be the same as she had originally quoted.  He went ahead and ordered the replacement glass.  It came in a few days later and another tech came out to install it (on a Saturday which I was very happy about since I didn't have to take time off work).  I don't recall his name, but he was on time and efficient.  Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

    OLSON GLASS & MIRROR

The new door was delivered on Friday, much sooner than we had expected. Other vendors had stated it would take a week. The price was considerably cheaper than quotes from other vendors, also, even without using the Angie's List price (we had just signed up). Overall, Eric was a great person to deal with, and we were very satisfied with the quality of the new shower door.

    NATIONAL GLASS & MIRROR
Showed up at the appointed time to look at problem and give an estimate on cost to repair.
Subseqeuntly showed up on time to make the repairs. Due to my hearing impairment in using the phone, I had requested that all communication with me to set up appointment for estimate and repairs be done by E-mail. Michelle respected my request and did a great job on communication by E-mail. The repairman did an excellent job in explaining what would be required on the repair when he came out to do the estimate. The repairs were made promptly. Overall service was excellent. I will definitely use this company for any additional work that I need done.

    NU-VIEW Glass Inc.
They were fast and on time which I appreciated greatly. I think the price was way too high, but I'm used to the Seattle area. The same window up there would have been about $150, or $10 per square foot. I was shocked when I found out the price from Nu-View Glass. Unfortunately I was in a bind and needed it done right away, which they did. I would recommend them, but I would get some additional bids before having them go ahead and do the work!
