Cabinet Making reviews in Sun City West

  • Quality 1st installed garage cabinets for us a few months ago.. We had cabinets installed in 2 garages. The warranty is lifetime. The cabinet countertop in the one garage had a bubble on top which was looked at and pictures taken. The other garage has a cabinet door that is warped. Was told that eventually would straighten out by itself. My husband and I called and called numerous times it been over 2 months now. Finally I received one call from Artie and was told that we should hear something in at the latest a week. This has been 4 weeks now. We spent over $3,000 to have these cabinets installed. They sure responded quickly when we initially wanted them to put in. This is definitely no way to run a business. Since then I've contacted BBB and they haven't responded to them either.

  • Everything went well as promised. A couple of cabinet doors were warped, but those were replaced in a timely manner.  It was very easy to work with the people in their office as well as with the people who did the installation.

  • Got estimates from several providers; settled on Tintas based on knowledge of staff, comparable pricing and ability to do all the work without having us work with other providers (ie electrician, plumber, etc) individually.
They gave us a schedule of dates that the work would be done and did a good job adhering to the schedule. Took place over a two week period; but we were never without the use of our kitchen. Cabinets done in two days, electrical work in one and countertops in one (came back on day two to seal the granite, took less than an hour).
We are absolutely pleased with the quality of work by all involved and the end result. We also were very happy that "Danny" helped us by making some recommendations that we would have otherwise overlooked.
The only downside is that we asked them repeatedly what time to expect them each day so that we could plan our day accordingly. Day one they were an hour late, day two three hours late and the electrician was a few hours late. I don't think this is worth a B rating; but would give them an A- if it was available.

  • We first met Kristie Haines at the Home Show. We made an appointment with her to come look at our walk in closet that needed to be completely updated (1989 vintage). Kristie was so great to work with. She has great ideas and is also very conscientious about budget concerns.Kristie developed a layout and gave an estimate in a very timely manner. We were having new flooring put in by another vendor and they got off schedule. Kristie was very good about moving her scheduled workers around to accommodate our time schedule. The worker that came to install the closet was Carlos. He did a wonderful fast job and is a very good worker. We loved the closet results so much we invited Kristie to help us completely redesign our 1989 kitchen. We worked together and found a layout that we all felt would be just right. The closet people made all the cabinets, installed them and put in all new counter tops. Carlos and "helper" even worked late on Christmas eve in order to get as much work done as possible. Kristie came on Christmas eve also to make sure all was going well and according to plan. The install took about 5 days including " tweaking" items .Again, we had a flooring delay from another provider and Kristie and crew were great to accommodate the needed extra time. The kitchen is soooo wonderful and we really are happy we did it. We had several other bids from "big box" stores. The problem was lack of personalized individual help. It was sort of "here is our stuff, tell us what you want and we will price and order it for you". Kristie on the other hand, met with us in our home, gave us design and product ideas and help . Kristie has great ideas and lots and lots of experience. So the kitchen and closet had gone so well and we were so delighted with the results we had Kristie come back and design our home office. We had "his and hers" desk and work stations as well as cabinets and a custom designed "charging station" for all the hand held electronics to keep them in one place and out of sight. Again Carlos did an amazing install and is such a great guy to work with. He really pays attention to the smallest details and makes things perfect. We like that!! So if you need to have any kind of cabinetry work done do not hesitate to give Kristie at The Closet People a call. I told them they should change the name of their company as they do so much more than closets. We may just have them back AGAIN to outfit our garage with cabinets and organization! Big thanks to Kristie and Carlos for all their great work and attention to our needs!

  • We had a lot of interaction with Tom on the design. We really didn't know what we wanted, the size and specs, etc. But Tom patiently created several designs and guided us to the final design and build.
The demo/installation team were prompt, professional, and true craftsman as they built the cabinets on site with virtually no mess.
All of the doors work perfectly as adjusted by the expert crew. Finished product exceeded our expectations.
The three custom doors were each machined by hand to match other cabinets in the closet. Kirk, the owner was not happy with the products prior to staining and sent them back to be redone several times causing a minor delay that was of no consequence. After staining and finishing, Kirk delivered and installed the doors personally. The match was perfect!
I have no doubt that the crew at Closet Masters can build any cabinets with any wood or design to perfection.

  • It went fine.  At times seemed overwhelming and traumatic.  Peter Bruno kept everything going and every one calm when needed.  We really liked Peter Bruno when it started and now it is over and we still really like him., (That is the best testimony we can give.)   He is truly concerned that everything be right.  If it isn't right he will see to it that it is right.  He has a real eye for what looks good and he truly cares that his customers are happy..  He works hard to keep the cost down.
My husband was sitting in the living room last evening and said " I am really happy with how this all turned out".  People come into my home and say "Oh, your home is so beautiful".
The bottom line is we went through a huge remodel of our home and we are really happy. WOW isn't that great

  • The experience was horrible. My contractor did not want to use them, because of the very problems that we dealt with on this job. But I insisted because they built my kitchen cabinets 2 years ago and though we had a few very minor problems, they were worked out easily to my satisfaction. However, this experience was the worst. They were giving the drawings well in advance of the job even being started and we were told we would have the cabinets by the 2nd week of January. We actually got them on the 13th of February. But the worst part of the poor quality of workmanship. They were supposed to build two drawer banks and smaller cabinets under the sink. We were told there was plenty of room to do it. They only built one drawer bank. I even spoke with Erica on the phone and she said it would be done. My mistake is that I didn't insist on a new drawing so I could see what they were going to do. But the worst part is that the drawers are unevenly placed in the drawer bank. They also did not put a finish coat on the wood, so the quality of workmanship was below substandard.
When I was still expecting them to get the bathroom cabinets to us on time, I asked them to do a bid on building a desk unit for my den. Doug came out on Thursday, January 10th. I was told it would cost $150 for him to do a bid, and I stupidly agreed. When Doug came out I showed him what I wanted in the bathroom and he again assured me it would be done. He took measurements of my office area and told me I would have drawings by email the next day. I got drawings on Monday, the 14th, from Erica. I answered her the next day telling her of the few minor changes that needed to be made to the drawing, very minimal, and I told her I needed to know how much it would cost. I have not heard another word from them since that time, but they did charge my credit card. Since I gave her my card number, I feel I have no recourse with my credit card company. Two other companies came to do bids and charged me nothing, one of them came back twice. I went with them. I would NEVER recommend this company. They do substandard work and robbed me of $150.00.

  • We recently moved to Arizona and purchased a house. We asked our real estate agent if he knew of a cabinet company as we wanted to install cabinets on both sides of our garage, the forward wall of the garage and laundry room. He recommended Neil's as they did work for him.
I contacted Neil's and two other companies to determine best price for my job. Not only did Neil's price come is over $500 less than the competition, they offered more finishes at no additional charge.
Then men did come in on time and finished a bit early.
We had only two rather minor complaints, one he handled and the other Neil's remedied.
    (1) The workmen left the garage in a mess. There was sawdust and extra materials left on the floor. This was disappointing, but just took about 15-minutes to clean up.
    (2) The installers used a nail gun to install the cabinets. The nail holes were clearly seen in the laundry room. Neil's cabinets came back the next day to remedy that. (Although the same issue is in the garage - nobody seems them and we assume they are customary.)

  • Sunset was great.  Started on time, completed according to schedule.  We supplied drawings of what we thought we wanted. Audra, the designer, came up with great suggestions that we hadn't considered.  She helped us to design the perfect kitchen.  The workmen were punctual and professional.  Caesar, the tile guy, was great.  And special mention goes to Andrew, jack of all trades, for whom it seemed nothing was beyond his experience.  Always upbeat and good-natured, he made everything seem easy..
Price was a little higher than we had hoped, but lower than some others we had interviewed.  I felt that there might have been better communication between the office and the workers, but this was a minor issue.  Contrary to another review I read, they did not require the final payment until everything on our punch list was rectified.
We'll have them back to bid on our master bath when we're ready.

  • Excellent, excellent, excellent!!  My bathroom turned out beautiful.  I was very pleased with the courteous and prompt service.  They scheduled everything to fit my busy schedule.  The product and customer service far exceeded my expectations.  I will definitely be using them again when I am ready to remodel my master bathroom.  Great job guys.....Thanks for keeping pride in customer service alive.
