    I'm so happy to have found this company, they were professional and knowledgeable. I called another company, Arizona Fireplaces and they never returned my phone calls. Tristar came out, serviced my gas fireplace that wasn't working. I found them on Angie's list and saw their reviews both good and bad. I booked appt thru their website and they came out the following week. I saw other reviews and their issues with communication, my tip would be to follow up and communicate thru texts, they will definitely get back to you. Would highly recommend this company.

    Tracy Chartier did an excellent job. We have not had our grill cleaned in 5 years and we thought it might not be salvageable. It looks almost new now. I highly recommend Good As New BBQ Cleaning. He also showed me how to use it correctly and showed me how to use the searer which I didn't even know I had!!

    James knows his stuff. We had used him previously to fix some outdoor gas firepits, so we called him back again this time. We had two natural gas log fireplaces that we gutted during a renovation and wanted to install new H-burners with glass. James came out and quoted us for the installation of two remote starter systems and recommended we hide the guts of the systems in the wall which was a great idea and barely added any significant cost to the project compared to the way we were going to do it with visible bulky units. James sent one of his technicians to do the work on a Saturday morning and joined him shortly after to supervise and assist. It took longer than expected ~ 4 hours, but was done very professionally. One of the ignition systems was a dud, so he even had one of his technicians return on Sunday to finish the job. He and his team do superb work and I would use him again in the future!

    Tracy was terrific. Couldn't have been nicer or more professional. He repaired my leaking gas line quickly. He noticed I'd recently had my BBQ cleaned and asked who had done it. I told him and told him how much I paid. He was astounded and said he could have done it as well for less than a fourth of what I paid. I'll be calling him next year when it is time to do an annual cleanup. I can't recommend him highly enough.

    They were unsuccessful in fixing it. There was an electronic circuit board they took out and found they could not replace it. The fireplace company had gone out of business and we can't replace the circuit board now. We feel they should have known this before they took it apart. We want them to return the board and return our money. We will try to find someone else to replace the fireplace.

    Customer reply to Service Provider Response 1/27/18:

    You claimed “As provided in the detailed letter I wrote you, we will not have part in "buying" good reviews!” While in your response you say that is insulting, the phone call was recorded and your exact words were; "The refund is the most important part" and that "I (you) would like to be able to leave a more favorable review - indicating you would leave us a better review if we gave you money back. I heard it with my own two ears, and have the file saved. Those were your statements verbatim to Candace”.

    You are mischaracterizing my comment. Had you agreed to make good on your obligation to restore my fireplace to safe and normal operation, or refunded the money I paid for a non result, I would have recognized that in my rating of your performance. Not only did you fail to restore my fireplace to safe operation, your company personnel left my premises unannounced with the burners running and no way to shut them off using the wall switch provisions that were designed to control the fireplace starting and stopping. The result of this act of negligence was a safety hazard which your business co owner described as an “emergency”.

    You accuse me of omitting details in my Angie’s List review. Here are the details:

    1. I contacted your firm to repair a fireplace that would not turn on; I called your company to fix it.

    2. On 1/10/18 your first employee was unable to restore the fireplace to normal operation after a thermocouple replacement. He tried for several hours relocating the gas logs and embers unsuccessfully. The flames had spontaneously stopped on various occasions.

    3. He left my premises while gas was being supplied to the burners and with the burners running. The wall switch that was there to turn off the burners had no control. Your subsequent claim in your email to me that I had turned the burners on was false. Had they spontaneously stopped burning, which I had observed several times while he was working, gas would have filled the entire room and possibly the house with gas. Your co owner correctly saw the need to get someone to the house ASAP, who shut off the gas supply. She said I had “an emergency”.

    4. On 1/12/18 your second employee, a senior technician, concluded that the circuit board was defective and that he could “omit” it by removing it and making wiring changes. I expressed reluctance to operating without the circuit board without knowing what safety features the board afforded. Your senior technician then said he would seek to find a replacement circuit board made by the manufacturer, or an after market board, or a repair of the defective board. That seemed agreeable so he took the removed board and left. Expecting that the defective board would soon be replaced I paid him the $299.25 before he left. He needed several days to follow up about the board.

    5. Several days later the second technician told me by phone that the “defective” circuit board could not be replaced or repaired. He also said that the company that built the fireplace had been out of business for fourteen years, and furthermore that company had a safety recall. The technician said that the fireplace needed to be replaced. The Magic Touch owner, alternately used several excuses why the repair could not be made. One was that the circuit board was not available. Another was that that there was a recall on this fireplace.

    6. We engaged another fireplace service company on 1/24/18 for a service call. Their technician first reinstalled the so called defective circuit board, then went quickly to the thermopile and replaced it. The fireplace behaved normally, starting and stopping as controlled by the wall switch.. The circuit board, was not defective as declared by Magic Touch. Re the recall on the Marco fireplace, the problem, as described by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, was separation of the interior vent pipe from its connection to the exterior wall of the house. This condition could have resulted in a fire caused by the hot exhaust gases inside the wall. The second company’s technician used a camera to confirm that no such separation existed on my system. Whether this problem never existed in our system, or whether a previous repair had been made due to the recall before we owned the house, remains unknown. But the technician from the second company we engaged assured us that this condition is not now present; there is no separation.*

    7. Our fireplace is now safe, not threatened by the Marco vent pipe separation, and not due to a defective circuit board, as the Magic Touch owner incorrectly asserted in order to justify that the repair job was not completed by his company. Therefore our rating to Angie’s List stands.


    Innovative Hearth Products, the company that eventually took responsibility for the Marco fireplace recall advises that based on the model and serial number of my fireplace, it was not a candidate for the Marco Retrofit Project. So all claims suggesting the fireplace needing a recall on repairas a cause of the non repair are untrue.

    The job went very well. The gas line, original with the house, did have gas available; we provided the gas logs and burner (about $500) and Paradise did the installation in a timely and professional manner.

    Fantastic - These guys were super responsive to my inquiry and set up an appointment quickly. On the first visit he the guy showed up right on time and was very courteous and professional. He spent a lot of time trying to fix a fireplace that ultimately needed a part special ordered. He also fixed an outdoor spigot and noted that there was another issue that he recommended repairing at some point. This is an issue that our recent home inspector also pointed out (we're new home owners). I felt he was very honest and did not try to up-sell. The fireplace part was received and installed just a couple days later. Again, Vitalli showed up on time and did a thorough job. I will definitely call this company again and highly recommend them.

    Sean did a thorough cleaning of our chimney which hadn’t been cleaned in 10 years. He covered the hearth and carpeting nearby and vacuumed during and after the cleaning process. He also installed a flue cap per our additional request that same trip. When it was time to clean the dryer vent, he took one look and said that it wasn’t in need of cleaning and didn’t charge the fee for it. He had to access the vent through the roof where he got a clear view of the vent. We will definitely call AZ Chimney and Air Ducts again for service in the future.

    Tracy was easy to schedule a time in terms of his responsiveness and he texted me the day before as a reminder and he showed up on time. He took about 3 1/2 hours and did a superb job thoroughly cleaning the entire grill. He was very knowledgable and he was especially patient as I asked him a number of questions concerning grill routine maintenance and use. I will use Tracy again and I highly recommend him for the quality work he provides and attention to detail.
