I've suffered with hip and knee pain for years, making it harder and harder to function. My primary care physician recommended I contact Dr. Mangan at Valley Orthopedics. I was able to get an appointment quickly. MRI of both knees was done the same morning as my appointment. I was shown the MRI and everything was explained in every-day English. I was given several options to proceed to lessen my pain. Surgery was not pushed and in fact was given as the 4th option if others had failed. I opted to receive cortizone shots in both knees, which were administered on the spot. I felt better almost immediately and 1 month later am still much more mobile than I have been in years.

I have been a patient of Dr. Komars for more than 5 years.  I had a back injury in a car accident, and although they do not do invasive procedures they have kept me walking when other doctors said I would not walk in a matter of months.   The office is not over booked so I almost always get in with in minutes of my appointed time.  The staff is all kind and caring at  all three offices.  They have their own syrgicenter for injections.  They have also taken care of my bad knee as well but that is not their focus, they are spinal pain management specialists.  Dr Komar is very gentle and goes out of his way to minimize my pain during exams and injections.  They train young doctors and have all the latest treatments.  With all this they charge less than most specialist. I have also seen Dr Wolff who is outstanding as well. Of the many doctors and offices I have had to sit in this is one of the best.

I experienced very little pain following the surgery. The incisions on my both of my knees are very small, and just look like scratches. I could really tell that he truly cares about his patients, and his work is simply incredible. I highly recommend his services.

I have used them twice; once in December 2010 and then again this last December. I got in the same day I called. They are the nicest people. I had shoulder surgery through them. The girls that work the counter are great.  Both of the doctors that I've seen have perfect bedside manners. The communication is very clear.  I don't have any extended waits there; sometimes I got in earlier.  The billing was perfect and they did everything.

    Tsao, Dr. Audrey K
My husband had needed knee replacement for several years..He is 64yrs of age and was told by other surgeons to get it done over a year ago but his work was so busy that he didnt get to it. We were able to get an appointment within a reasonable time after calling, brought in the x-rays and after she viewed them and went through his medical info in detail , she explained everything, and if we forgot anything, her staff reiterated it again. When you meet her for the first time she introduces herself and tells you she is very detailed oriented and quot;anal and compulsiveand quot; in regards to not only your surgery but also your pre and post op procedures. She expects (nicely) that you will do the strengthening exercises and class and then also the followup physical therapy. She also explains that from her experience if you do as she requests, you will experience a positive and rapid healing time and should be back to a better, less painful life quickly. The entire office staff that we were exposed to spoke english clearly. EVERYTHING DR. TSAO SAID WAS ACCURATE. My husband was at the hospital with approximately 9 other knee replacement patients of other doctors and what I observed was that my husband's incision was about 3and quot; shorter in length, and was closed very cleanly(42 staples less than 1/16and quot; apart) which made for a very small, thin scar will very little chance of infections as compared to some of the other patients whose skin puckered. My husband was out of the hospital the next day, and it has been about 45 days since his surgery. He is doing so much more and is looking forward to golf very soon. He has put forth the effort and did the exercises as she requested and he is so happy to be in such a mild level of pain(even after physical therapy). He rarely takes a painkiller because the pain now is so much less than he had prior to surgery. He was working shortly after surgery and the people she referred for in-home physical therapy and nursing were very respectful of my husbands work schedule, polite and nice. We would recommend her to anyone and already have,

    Chow, Dr. James C.
He is very honest, and he will not do surgery if there are other ways to improve your issue. I have at least who are also using his services. He does invasive surgery so I have a smaller scar than my friends who had another doctor do their surgery. I like him and will continue to use him again in the future.
