    Doug Van Patten
Doug really was the best part of our days with him! He is knowledgable, professional, courteous, affable, and a hard-worker. We love Doug and absolutely love his remodel. His suggestions and expertise brought about our collaborative vision! You cannot go wrong with Doug! As a professional contractor, he also removed walls, built new walls, and basically had his hands in every aspect of our whole remodel.

Doug built a bathroom for us in the crawl space off our basement. We wanted a basic utilitarian bathroom . . . and for a very reasonable cost that equalled the lowest of two other estimates, Doug built us the prettiest bathroom in our home! His work is exceptional. He is an artisan craftsman and does virtually everything himself from start to finish. Doug is a pleasure to work with, a truly trusted professional!

    KR Flooring Solutions LLC
The end result was worse than before they started. I'm surprised that these folks are allowed on Angie's List at all. The estimate provided by KR Flooring Solutions included: "Replace one tile with crack down the middle with new tile provided by the customer." That was the only mention of our having to provide tile before the work started. Fortunately, we had one spare tile -- but only one. The first worker showed up with a child in tow (babysitting at the time?) and caulked some cracks. That's all he did. He said that he couldn't replace the single, cracked tile because it would just crack again. Well, yeah, if the heaving isn't corrected, the same thing will happen... When we complained, they sent out another worker who told us that all of the loose tile needed to be pulled up and re-laid to repair the tile heaving. That would almost certainly break some tile. But, he also told us that we should be able to replace a lot of the tile if we needed for the $600 we paid. The trick would be finding the tile. I gave the workman the only replacement tile we had so he could try to match it. A couple of weeks passed and we didn't hear anything back, so I called. The folks on the phone weren't nearly as helpful as the second workman. They told me that the problem was that we didn't provide replacement tile, so they couldn't perform the repairs. I pointed out that the estimate only indicated we needed to provide one tile -- which I had given the second workman to match. I was told that they couldn't match the tile. I said, "You're KR Flooring Solutions, right? Give me a solution." I was told that they would call me. That's the last I've heard from them. In the end, we paid $600 for some caulking that only made the patio look worse. And, we never even got our replacement tile back. Very, very disappointing.

    Bob Greenwood Tile
Owner Robert Greenwood, Generation Tile: This business does not know how to install porcelain tile that looks like wood planks. This type of tile is called rectified tile, and little to no grout should show. Generation's employees installed two decks and a large kitchen incorrectly. Generation's unskilled employees installed it as if it were regular tile, not to mention that there is a variation of grout color which is due to not using distilled water or premixed grout. We have white and beige grout throughout our floors. Yes, it is noticeable. We called Bob several times, and each time he came to our home to examine the work or sent his son, and neither understood the problem. I kept telling them that the tile did not look right but they insisted it was installed correctly, but they were very wrong. They also excused the various grout colors to the minerals in the local water, which is not true. Since Bob and our contractor insisted that the tile was installed properly, we hire professional forensic tile professional from Phoenix to examine our tile and give us an expert opinion. The forensic tile person, Mr. Ralph Williamson, wrote up a report that proves that our tile is installed incorrectly. It looks horrible and does not look like tile plank but regular tile. The grout line should not be over 1/16 th of an inch and it is approx 3/16 almost everywhere and this does make a huge difference if you want a wood like plank look. Now, this tile has to be removed and replaced, costly to someone. Yes, there will be legal issues with Generation Tile and the construction company, James and James Construction, Corp, who hired them as their sub. Anyone may Google rectified tile and see how it is to be properly installed. Disappointed to say the very least..

    Doug Van Patten
We are very pleased. We selected Doug after looking at his quote and comparing to others.  We paid half up front and half at completion which worked out fine.  we had a few minor schedule slips due to suppliers but nothing out of the normal.  He made it work.  One surprise for us was how clean he kept the workplace and our house.  We have done several removals with tile and drywall dust everywhere.  That was not the case here - he kept after it and always had that big vac at the point of dust making!  He kept us informed on progress.  We had a Dropcam in the kitchen so we could watch and enjoy progress from afar and he had no problem with that at all - even git a wave now and then.  He was very patient with us and always did what he said he would do.  All in all - we were very pleased with the design, the price, the work, the quality and the outcome.  We would recommend him.

I called 3 contractors to get an estimate on the remodeling we wanted.  Doug was the only contractor that answered his phone at the time I called.  I left messages with the other 2 contractors and they never even called me back.  Doug and his wife Erin came to the house to get the information for an estimate.  At the time I thought I knew what I wanted, but they came up with some ideas that I would have never thought of (which I used).  He gave me the estimate in the time frame promised and also started the job in the time frame we agreed to.
The master bathroom had a small shower and garden tub (which I never used).  We needed a bigger shower and Doug was able to remove the tub and replace it with a beautiful tiled shower.  I did not know what kind of tile I wanted in the shower so I just told Doug to go with and do what you want.  It turned out beautiful and is the envy of the neighborhood.  In the guest bathroom Erin came up with the idea to put a glass tile frame around the fiberglass tub and shower that we were not replacing.  That little feature made a world of difference in the look of the bathroom and really made it look custom.  The lights, cabinets, counters, mirrors, hardware, toilets and flooring were changed in both bathrooms.
The kitchen was the biggest change.  All the flooring was changed from laminate to 18 inch tile flooring.  I was going to replace all the cabinets to a darker wood and to have a couple of cabinets larger to give more of a customized look to the kitchen.  Doug suggested that I have the old cabinets refaced and just replace 2 cabinets for the dimension I wanted.  The cabinets came out beautiful and is just the look I wanted.  All the fixtures, granite counter tops, and back splash are just stunning and went way beyond my expectations.  There were a few changes that I made as the job progressed that Doug took in stride.
During the entire remodel, Doug always made sure that I was able to live in the house with a working bathroom.  Having both bathrooms remodeled at the same time made it a little challenging.  Doug also kept everything as clean as possible during the entire 2 months it took for this project.
My husband was not home at the time of the remodel and all he could say when he got home was "this belongs in a magazine". We are both very happy with the out come of our home.
We highly recommend Doug for any construction project you may have.

    Prescott Flooring Brokers
I contracted with the Prescott Flooring Brokers to replace the carpet in several rooms with ceramic tile in a house that I had just bought and had not moved into yet.  I was still living out of state while the job was ongoing.  I was totally dependent on the company to keep their commitments to me since no one was present or in town to ride herd on them.
They showed up as promised and actually finished the job several days early.  The front desk person even arranged to give the key to my cleaning person when they were finished.  All of that came off without a hitch.
When I finally arrived to move into the house the floors were all nicely done.  I had zero complaints or concerns.  The carpet had all been carried off and the floors were just waiting for me to move in.
I did experience some difficulty getting a response from the front desk person on two occasions, but when I did connect she was very helpful and professional.  That is why I gave them a B on that aspect.  The price was a little higher than I had expected, but it was probably a fair price.  I haven't had tiling done in quite a few years and I expect the prices have gone up in the meantime.

It is wonderful. I am very happy with them. They messed up on appointments. I sat here all morning waiting for them to come. I called them. They said that had goofed up and that they weren't even scheduling us that day. I jumped up and down, yelled and screamed a lot and got them to come out. We are planning on using them again in the future.

    Pristine Clean LLC
Steve was very accommodating as I had to reschedule numerous times due to house not closing as lender said. Steve called prior to appointment and was very courteous and professional. He did a great job cleanning the stain filled grout lines and dirty tiles throughout the home by using a hand held pre-scrubber on heavy stain and professional cleaning machine. I asked Steve if we should seal the grout line after cleaning. Steve tested the area and recommend not to do so as it has already been done. He was honest and trustworthy. Highly recommend his service and would definitely use his service again.

Primera Carpet One Floor & Home

The service went very well. They did what they said they were going to do and they did it timely, within the price they initially offered.

They had some things to do with when they did laminate because the floor underneath, the concrete, was uneven to begin with. But they absolutely managed to work something out.
