    Horrible. Set-up appointment about 2 months earlier. When I arrived, I was told that they had me for an earlier time but receptionist said she would check if I could be seen. About 25 minutes later, I was told she FORGOT about me. I was waiting in a chair about 10 feet in front of her. Then was told they had no time for me. While waiting, another man came for his appointment and was told he could not see the doctor. He also made his appointment months earlier. Then I was told they were having computer issues. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATION. Would question the clinical ability with poor communication and organization.

    Dr Bird, is a professional who "knows her stuff"? She is thorough and very knowledgeable. Considering her work load she is very efficient, while being pleasant. It is great having a D.O on site. I was impress with the efficiency of the visit.

    They really did not do much, I had an appointment for me as well and I did not like the fact that they did not take a lot of time to listen about the concerns I had, I went there just twice and I'm not going back.

    The staff is really nice and everything went ok, as soon as they got the results back from the lab they called me and let me know everything was fine, I will definitely go back to Spectrum Dermatology.

    I went and saw Dr. Jason Barr at the Surprise location. I was about 10 minutes late (got a tad lost - first visit) and I think that may be why I had to wait a bit longer. But, they did get me in!
    The waiting room was large and mostly comfortable. They had the TV and then about 4 iPad docks in the back of the room.
    The gals at the reception desk were very nice, friendly, cheerful and accommodating.
    When I went in to the room, I did not have to wait long for the Dr. to get in and see me. His med assistant, Victoria, was very nice, professional.
    I have to say, I really REALLY liked Dr. Barr. He listened to my concerns; he was open to hearing my past (negative) experiences with another dermo and not repeating it. I liked his bedside manner - efficient, knowledgeable, thorough, and all with a sense of humor.
    He removed a spot I came in for and two others he found suspicious on an exam. They were done right then, easily and painlessly for the most part.
    He went over my aftercare, and, Victoria gave me handouts as well. This I really liked because you forget so many times all the stuff they tell you in an appt! I felt this was very patient focused (which is rare at many Dr. offices....)
    When I had a reaction to the ointment within 36 hours or so, they got right back with me and gave me alternative options. Again, they were very nice, professional and reassuring.
    I am actually looking forward to my next exam here. Wow! Because I really, strongly, do not like doctors and exams. One other thing I want to mention is this doctor is focused on medical dermatology as opposed to cosmetic. I liked this too because his goal is to keep you healthy and cancer free. He also gave out a few samples of products to try for sunblocking, mositurizing, etc that are better for your skin and not filled with bad chemicals and strong perfumes.

    I will never go back to this Dr.
    His office staff treats you like an inconvenient interruption. They were NOT friendly or even nice.He ran behind schedule.
    I sat in a tiny paper gown for quite a while, cold, waiting for him to come in.
    When I got in to see him, he told me it was my option to have another person (his medical assistant - who was just...... UNNNpleasant) there during the exam, or not. After I explained to him that I am very modest and had had a very negative experience with another doctor, he took that option away. I would have preferred no other person... Guess that made me untrustable - nice way to get a Dr. relationship started.
    He then explained what he was going to do and how the exam would go, specifically stating that my Gyn would need to check any areas of concern in the most private areas and we could go from there if needed. We agreed these were the areas covered by my bra and panties.I agreed to this and then he started the exam.
    At one point, I am standing up and he announces he will now check just beneath my panty line (in the front) and without pausing, pulled my panty down into my pubic area. I was horrified! I asked him what he was doing, that we had agreed on what was to be examined. He then tells the MA about a scar I have in this area that I am embarrassed by and what it was for. As she logs it into my chart, I ask him exactly why he needed to see this, and why does it need to be in my chart? What business was it of his and the MA? I had (A) not come to him about the scar, and (B) it was out of the agreed upon exam area.
    What an a** this guy is! Perhaps he should get a consultation for Obsessive-Compulsive disease, because what he did was certainly an affront and feels like an assault. (No, not something I would go try to get him in trouble for, not like that, but just an extremely upsetting and horrible experience. I feel that a Dr. should listen to you and be accommodating to anything that can be upsetting.... like yanking your panties down. Just don't do it. As we discussed, I can talk to my Gyn about any concerns around that area....)
    So needless to say, I have never and will never be back. I did not go to a dermo again until recently because this was so upsetting to me.One positive thing I can say is that the business office did a very nice thing for me. I had a spot removed (which has now come back....nice job, Dr.!) and he sent it out to a pathologist. This is SOP at any dermo. However, since it was done out of his office, I was billed nearly $100 for it. (If the Dr. has pathology done in his office, as part of his practice, there is no additional cost on my insurance).
    I called about this and knowing this type of thing I had removed was almost never cancerous and I had not wanted it biopsied, the person was able to waive this charge. It essentially just went away. I was very grateful for that because it was a lot of money at a bad time for me.In summary - find another Dr. This guy has lost his love of medicine and people (that I assume you must have to drive you through Med School, etc) and should perhaps become a non-patient focused Dr (pathologist, research, expert witness.....).

    I would recommend to anyone interested in North Valley to try and get an appointment with Dr. Fredenberg. I have seen other doctors at North Valley, but she is the one I have seen the most, and the one I like the most.

    Went for a rash on my face - I was not seen by an MD, but a PA. This is fine, however, I was not told when making the appointment that I would not be seeing the doctor. I feel like that information should have been communicated to me in advance, just for my own knowledge. PA did not know what the rash was, but tried to figure out what it could be from, which is often a mystery. She gave me some ointment and told me to come back if it reoccurred. Office is very nice, but front desk receptionist was extremely unfriendly. Girl in billing was very nice! Wait time was very brief, as my appointment was first thing in the morning. Overall, I'd say that my experience was good, and most likely, I would go back due to PA being very nice (good bedside manner), being able to get an appointment within a few days, punctuality of appointment (very short wait time), and proximity to my home.

    Overall, my experience with this business was fantastic. My only regret is that I had to waste time, money, and emotional distress with three very bad dermatologists before finding Dr Carroll-Chen. The office staff and nurses were welcoming and friendly. They were efficient and got their tasks done right the first time. I was so pleased with every part of my treatment that I made an appointment for a skin cancer screening at the end of the summer.

    Full disclosure. I am a health care provider. I see patients days in and day out. I saw a Physician in this practice by the name of Dr Trevor Thompson. He is included in this practice at North Valley Dermatology. I was having trouble terrible hair loss due to a rheumatoid condition. While I was in the waiting room a couple who had been waiting along time for both of their APPOINTMENT LEFT! The technician admitting patients to the treatment rooms told a spouse they would have to wait until later for his for his appointment. It was my impression that they were to be seen together. The patients were upset with scheduling of their appts. The office staff did not seem to care! I later learned. They had taken off work to come in and had scheduled their appts. back to back. There was some kind of misunderstanding regarding the appts and they were not going to be taken back together. The staff did not try to resolve the schedule conflict and did not care if the patients left. They got their records and left. That should have been my first clue. This office is over scheduled. I saw Dr. Thompson. My appt. maybe10 minunte. He gave me some ointment to put in the bald spots in my hair and said come back in 3 months!!!!. Have you ever tried to put ointment in hair ? Totally worthless treatment. He said there was and quot;nothing more he could do and quot;. I knew better. The fact was he was not knowledgeable enough to treat my condition. I made an appointment with a well qualified dermatologist. Although I am not in the field of dermatology but I knew there were better formulated treatments to provide topically for immediate relief as well as other therapeutic treatments for this this condition. I called a family member who is a pharmacist. She told me of at least six treatments that were far more applicable and would improve my condition immediately. I have since seen a new Dermatologist who knew exactly how to treat my not so uncommon condition and has provided immediate relieve as well as therapeutic long term treatment for my condition . I would avoid this office you have a medical condition other than botox. They seem to rely heavily on aesthetics and skin care. I can tell you I did not get my moneys worth. I observed an indifferent attitude by the staff toward patients and their time. I had to pay for a 10 minute appt. for a DR who was clearly did not have the knowledge and skills or feel competent to treat my condition to fully treat my condition and could not get out of the door t fast enough on an initial appointment.
