    Hill's Arizona Optical Co
We had been using another optometrist & optician. After my wife had eye surgery she went to the other optometrist who said he could not provide a correction for her left eye which had the surgery. During a follow-up visit to the surgeon in Tucson we had the optometrist in that office test her eyes and write a new prescription. So we looked for a new optician (and optometrist) in our area. After reading reviews, websites, and phone calls, we decided to try Hill's Optical. We were helped by Thomas Hill who is third generation of the family. He is quite young and as we later found out has just recently finished his apprenticeship. However, he is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to details. He did a very thorough job of first evaluating her current glasses, measuring, checking if the new prescription made sense, and fitting the new frames and lenses. Because her correction is very comples, the glasses could not be made immidiately. Less than a week later we go a call that the glasses were ready. When we went in to the store, Robert Hill (middle generation) helped us with the final fitting. Due largely to their attention to detail, my wife's glasses are the best she has had in years.

Be on time as he and the staff bend over backwards to work for you. Bring data from previous provider. Save at least two hours as they may choose to do several tests. His return after each segment was gracious and completely forthcoming. He obviously trains most staff himself and they perform flawlessly. FIrst class. Dolores I. Dinneen, PhD

I must say that Dr. Wright is the most thorough optometrist I have ever been to. He is an excellent doctor with a caring and humorous bedside manner and he sports a mean pair of cowboy boots! I initially went to my physician's office because my eyes were terribly inflamed after having an eye exam at a different provider. They took one look at me and called Dr. Wright's office and he was able to see me the same day. After thoroughly checking my eyes and determining the problem, he prescribed eye medications that resolved that particular problem. I developed another problem with "floaters" shortly afterwards and again, I was seen immediately and my eyes were thoroughly checked to ensure I did not have a detached retina. I returned for a follow-up appointment a month later and all was well. Also, several years ago I went to Dr. Wright for an eye exam and had the most thorough eye exam I have ever had. I am sure all who read this review will notice I keep stating how thorough Dr. Wright is! That said, if you want a quickie, get in, and get out eye appointment, you might want to look elsewhere. Dr. Wright does spend time with you and carefully checks your eyes. He discusses how to use any eye medications he prescribes or gives samples of and is also concerned about the medication's affordability. My overall experience was excellent, any waiting time was reasonable, and his staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Wright to anyone who wants to actually feel cared for by their eye doctor!

    Lightle, Dr. Ralph W.
I arrived 15 minutes prior to my 9 a.m.appointment for paperwork, which went smoothly. I actually was called back a few minutes early by the optical technician that did the initial screening exam and data collection. He was very thorough in his history taking, and then proceeded to do the glaucoma testing, retinal imagining, etc. I was impressed with the retinal imaging, as it does not require dilation of the pupils, something I have had done for the last 20 years or so. I then saw Dr. Lightle who did the examination, and we discussed my treatment options, which were either progressive lens, or now trifocals (I had reached that point in life where bifocals weren't adequate! LOL!) He was quite helpful in guiding me towards the progressive lens, and explaining the pros and cons of both types. He appreciated the fact that as a dentist and the type of work that I did that I needed glasses that allowed the best visual accuity in a variety of settings. From there I had the consulation with another optician that understood my concerns were more for eye protection, good visual acuity, and that fashionable eyewear was somewhat of a consideration, I was more concerned with function. We arrived at an appropriate frame style and lens combination. Over all, a very efficient, thorough, and affordable eye appointment. I will definitely use them in the future!

My rimless glasses popped a lense. Being new to the Flagstaff area, I visited the provider nearest me for help. Not only did they install a new plastic piece to hold the lense in place, but put in new nose cushions (the old were worn thin) for a cost of $10. I was especially pleased because the receptionist was was very busy at the time and yet the wait was relatively short - about half an hour.

    Mallavia, Dr. David
Beginning with hte appointment, I was able to get in quickly (within a week). The doctor had an elderly couple who arrived unexpectedly looking for help with a prescription. The doctor personally asked me if he could assist the couple and thanked me when I agreed to let him talk with them, delaying my appointment. While we were late getting started, I never felt like Dr. Mallavia rushed. He performed the exam, answered my questions and then facilitated the remainder of my appointment with the support staff (choosing glasses). I was told my glasses (both regular and prescrption sunglasses) would take about a week to get it. However, three days later I received a call that both glasses were ready. The glasses were exactly what I had ordered. The office also processed my insurance paperwork efficiently.
