  • This went exceedingly well. Our dog loves his sitters, Mimi and Rick. He pulls me to their door when he sees their house. They treat him as his own and he loves being with them. I get regular reports overnight - as to how he is doing- pictures of him sleeping next to them, show me that he is very much at home in his home away from home. This is a great service - and I've used the service- in times of emergency- and there is always a great effort to accommodate. Sandy Bates, the owner is always so very helpful. We are a long term customer.

  • Went well. I've used them for years. It is a small kennel so reservations in advance are a good idea. My dogs can stay in the same run. They do offer optional services for a fee like walking your dog.

  • They will do walks and baths, but I wanted appropriate feeding and safety. I didn't want them taken out by strangers, and I do their bathing.

They are professional and know dogs. They are serious kennel owners who are trustworthy. They follow instructions for the care of your pets.

  • We have a tea cup yorkie and are always concerned because she is so small. She spent two nights at a care providers home and that went great! We have also used the in home service a few times and have been very pleased with Brielle's care - we receive text messages and pictures of her! Great service that we will continue to use!

  • Outstanding! We were every excited in the change of our dogs'  behavior. His suggestions were not only helpful, but easy for us to practice and implement. We are so thrilled with the immediate results that we are working on our homework with the dogs and have already booked a follow up session next week.  You will not regret asking for their help. You and your dogs will be much happier after having this service.

  • Two of the four times he was kenneled, he came home with skin problems (once under his whole chin and once at the base of one ear) that required a vet appointment and antibiotics.  The last time, we were told by the owner's teen-age grandson that he "barks too much" and we should work on it.  He said his grandfather uses a shock collar to control the barking of his dogs.  We have never had a problem with our dog barking, ever.
The last time we kenneled, we gave exact instructions on when a probiotic was to be given, and added some extra packets in case we could not get back from out-of-town on time.  The probiotic packets were put in a zip-lock bag and the instructions written on the bag.  When we returned, all the packets were gone.  What if it had been a prescription medication?  If we leave explicit instructions, we expect them to be followed, and they were not.
We will not return to a kennel that complains about our dog barking and one that thinks shock collars are a way to control barking.  Also, we do not want to have to take our dog to a vet and get antibiotics half the time after a kennel stay.
This is not the first dog we have kenneled, and we have never had to follow a kennel stay with a vet/antibiotic appointment, nor has "barking" and "shock collar" ever been used in the same conversation about any of our dogs.

  • Creature Comforts Pet Resort was used about three years ago.  At that time I really liked them, but they have gone hill tremendously.  In fact they don't return phone calls, I think I left them about five phone calls because we had to go to a funeral, and nobody would ever call me back so we found some place else to board them.  And we are going on a vacation shortly and I didn't even consider them.  It's like they really don't care.  My sister went there and it was filthy.

  • The staff is very friendly and professional. I have used them three to four times and their prices are reasonable. The only question I had was that when I took my dog their once they said the food had worms in it and they threw it out.

  • They have a senior discount. I didn't know about it, I had to ask about it once.  The bill was really high once and I asked if they had the discount and they said it was on their website.  They don't really tell you, which is okay. Once I got the senior discount I was okay with the prices. They have an outdoor run and it's in a rural area.  It's on several acres but the runs aren't that big.  It's like a building with concrete floors, but I guess they all kind of look like that.  They provide dry food but I always bring my own.  The place is adequate, not outstanding.  I feel a little guilty about taking my dog there but I don't have much of a choice.  He's never gotten sick, they are really good about making sure all the dogs that come there have had their shots.  I think they have to by law.  If I haven't been there for a while they will ask if he is up to date with his shots so that's good.  I've never used other kennels so I don't have much comparison.  This place does the job, I just feel guilty leaving my dog there sometimes.

  • As we were looking for a place to board our dog while on vacation, we checked some places out.  We were told we could stop by Kennel Comfort any time during their normal hours, so we showed up 10 minutes later.  We were greeted by Kim, who was checking in a couple of dogs.  Once they were settled she took us to the small dog run where our girl would be staying.  It was clean, enclosed and secure.  She then took us to the area outside the run, where the dogs would be after going through the dog door.  The area was covered from the sun and was also secure.  Each dog has their own exclusive area.  The area was also clean, as they patrol for droppings regularly.  There was also a nearby play area where each dog, individually, is escorted to play.  It was a good sized area.  Kim also noted that she lives on the property and another employee also lives on the property so someone is always there.

We had a good first impression of the place.  We decided to board our dog there.

Upon check in, we had to present evidence of current shots from the vet.  Everything was inventoried to make sure we had everything we said we had.  We gave feeding instructions and treat instructions.  No meds were needed, but they will administer meds if needed.  Then it was off to the dog run.

Naturally, our dog was skittish as she doesn't react too well to other dogs and although she never mixed with the other dogs, she knew they were there.  We got her settled in her spot and off we went.

When we returned 10 days later, we found a clean, groomed, happy dog waiting for us.  She not only was happy to see us, but she also reacted lovingly to the staff - a good sign - in our opinion.  The staff gave us a quick briefing on her stay and we collected her things and brought her home.

For us, it was hard to leave our dog behind at a kennel.  It was our first separation since we rescued her 6 months ago.  However, she appears to have been well cared for at Kennel Comfort Pet Motel, and we will definitely use then again.  It was a very positive experience.
