  • Excellent. I have been going to Dr. McDougal for 20+ years. He and his team are very professional and take the time to explain and review everything. The office is very nice and comfortable. I do not hesitate to recommend him to care for your eyes.

  • The appointment went very well. I usually purchase my eyeglasses through Costco and have been satisfied, but disliked the current variety of styles they had to offer. I went to Sharper Vision Eyecare to check out what they had to offer. While we were there, I was very please with the attention I received from the Optician I worked with. She worked with both my daughter and myself in trying styles and felt she gave an honest opinion regarding what styles worked and did not. She even went into the back to find more options when the ones we were considering weren't quite right.
I have to explain why I gave them lower grades on billing. Since this was a private office, I expected to pay a higher price for services as compared to what I'm used to in Costco (private offices simply can't compete with the break in prices manufacturers provide to Costco). I expected to pay about $350 to $400 and the final cost came to about $430. The trouble is that this was because we stumbled upon a 50% off sale. I doubt I would have proceeded with the order if it was over $800 at full price. With that said. I felt very comfortable discussing finances with my Optician and she offered a variety of options to help work the payment of the glasses into my tight budget. I've placed the order and am waiting to pick up the final product (about 2 weeks).
Overall I am please with my decision to work with this practice. It was my choice to continue with the higher price and I do believe the service that the followup services I may need will be worth the extra expense.

  • Everyone is very professional and friendly from the time you make the appointment, to the exam, and then with the help in picking out the frames for your new glasses. We are extremely happy with the customer service and personal attention given to us.

  • I have been a patient of Dr. John Chrisagis at Tempe Eyecare since 1988. I find him to be extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I have a couple of conditions he is watchful of, one called cupping, the other is a family history of glaucoma. Originally I wore contacts, however, now I only use glasses. In addition to being very professional and personable, he is so honest about not trying to sell me something I don't need. For example, the last several visits my prescription has changed very little. Rather than trying to sell me glasses I don't really need, he advised that drug store readers would be sufficient, and that I really don't need bifocals as my distance vision is almost 20-20--it has actually improved with age!

  • I have been a client of this office for many years, and everyone is very professional, helpful, and accommodating. For this particular experience, the glasses came back from the lab with some imperfections, so Jake was on top of it and made sure that they were returned to be re-done correctly. I appreciate the conscientiousness to get the order just right. I will continue to use this provider for my eyecare needs.

  • Received excellent eye exam and fitting for new glasses. Great selection of frames. Only draw back is you have to wait for your glasses to come in which took about a week and a half. Price was terrific though and worth the wait.

  • I have a condition called cupping of the optic nerve. Sometimes it means glaucoma, but in my case it doesn't. Dr. C. is extremely diligent about keeping this in check. My vision has changed only slightly in the last 10 years. At each of my annual checkups, Dr. C. makes the comment that there's really no need to purchase new eyeglasses since the change is so slight. Since my distance vision has actually improved, although my closeup vision has gotten worse, he recommended that I simply get a pair of drugstore readers. He is so honest, and I really respect that. Obviously not trying to sell me more eyeglasses when he feels I don't need them. I'm glad he's still young enough that he's not likely to retire soon like so many of my other doctors!

  • It was good. The optician was nice and I really liked them. The glasses and service were good. I had to wait two weeks which was the only drawback. It is a walk-in for everything except for the eye appointment, which is kind of a problem because you have to wait your turn. The staff ignores you until they get your number and then they were great. I liked their optical but I don't like Costco, per se. I am just one person so it is really not a option because I can't buy in bulk.

  • Sharper Vision Eyecare, Gail Schechter, the last time I saw her was in December. They are very prompt there which is important to me since I work. They have a great staff that not only helps you with your eye care but they also sell glasses there, so they are really nice, they have great people who help you find glasses that look good on you and they give you honest opinions, which I like. Almost like have a glass stylist. Easy to become a patient. And they handle all my insurance and everything. It's lovely. It's hard for me to find people and once I do I stick with them.

  • It has a large waiting room. The exam consisted of going room to room for different parts of the exam with a tech, before ending the exam with a doctor for the results. Everyone I had contact with were professional. They also have a good variety of glasses to choose from if you need them.
