  • They were able to get here earlier than scheduled. 21/2 hour delay to get part but completed the work quicker than promised on the return. One item was left on the invoice I declined. But over all a good experience.

  • Tom and Jesse are the greatest. Their work is excellent and they clean up after themselves. We wanted to replace five 29-year-old outside hose bibs — one had a leaking washer (which meant the others probably weren’t far behind) and several were leaking at the packing (you can tighten them up only so much), and replace pitted sink pop-ups (2) and tub stopper in bath 2 for cosmetic reasons. Jesse did all this and replaced the hose bibs with quarter-turns. We also wanted to replace two toilets (also 29-years-old), if we could be assured they would empty on one flush — which our existing toilets often didn’t do. Jesse recommended two: American Standard Champion and Cadet Pro. He showed us YouTube videos of these 1.28 gpf toilets flushing, and explained their pros and cons. They both have trapways (fully glazed) and flush valves which are larger than our old toilets. We believe the Champion probably dumps water faster into the bowl since the valve moves up and down, allowing water to enter the valve from all sides, while the Cadet uses a large flapper. However, to replace the valve on the Champion requires disassembly of the tank (we watched a video). So we chose the Cadet Pro. Tom also pointed out that the Champion requires a greater force on the flush handle which sometimes breaks the plastic parts inside. Tom installed an ADA height one in bath 2 while Jesse installed a standard height one in the master bath (ADA was a bit high to fit). They caulked them nicely to the tile floor. In addition, we wanted to discuss whether or not our 10-year-old water heater should be replaced. Jesse pointed out that the plumber who installed the existing heater should have instructed us to have the anode replaced every three years. So we decided tp replace the water heater, and good that we did. When it was moved, there was water and considerable rust underneath, so it was leaking. Sav-On Plumbing did a great job. They modified the supply lines to fit the new higher water heater, installed quarter-turn valves on both the cold water in-take and hot water out-take, installed a drip pan with drain to the outside through the block wall, and replaced the drain valve on the heater with a larger quarter-turn valve. Everything went smoothly, and we highly recommend Sav-On Plumbing.

  • Because of the date of install, the tech (Andres Rios) said he could not guarantee a leak or damage would not occur. That being said, I chose not to proceed. When asked about a refund, no response has been returned.

  • Started on my merry task of playing water removal specialist at about 0900 this morning, our old faithful of a water heater decided to leak(this is a non repairable thing). In the grand scheme of things i'm happy to have had the problem while we were at least home. The Mrs called into AHWA got a appt window of 12-2 and what do you know, Higi arrived a little before 12 to get work started. Approx 2hrs later Higi the stupendous professional is cleaning up his work area and explaining to me the ins and outs of the new unit as well as hauling the old one away. I appreciate how quickly everything took place and the efficiency in which it happened I'm already a Reverse Osmosis customer so now I'm just smitten with this grand company for just about all their products/services.

  • I was quoted $850 plus tax for a new gas fired 50 gallon water heater and removal of old unit. I knew there could be some minor extra charges for incidentals but I failed to ask how much it would be and was not given any indication. When the work was done I was presented a bill for $1,413.00. As water heater replacements go this was not a difficult job. I had used this guy before and knew he was not inexpensive but this was a flat out rip-off. I believe he sized me up and figured I would pay. He was correct. I paid. But never again. Buyer beware.

  • It went great!! After discovering my water heater had failed and was leaking all over the garage, my home warranty service provider wanted to make the repair a two day process--one day to come out and confirm the water heater had failed, then another to bring a new one out to install.  I had previously gotten a quote from Lawson Family Plumbing for a hot water recirculator, so, I called them at 10:00 and they were out--with a new water heater--by 4:00.  The front office worked hard to re-arrange their schedule to fit us in and managed to do it without dropping us into the "emergency call" time frame.  Kudos to them!!

    Nick, our Lawson technician, arrived within the assigned time and had the new water heater and recirculator installed within a couple of hours.  Nick was fast, friendly and fair--explaining all the new regulations and codes to upgrade our unit.  He even wore booties when he came in the house.

    We will definitely use Lawson Family Plumbers in the future for our plumbing needs!

  • The hot water heater was making some noise. It hadn't been flushed in about two years, so i purchased this service from the provider. Because I wasn't going to be around when they came out to do the service, I sent them a message through Angie's List to point out to them that the anode rod hadn't been replaced since the last time the unit had been flushed. The gentleman who came to do the service went about his business, but never communicated anything to my wife about the condition of the rod or what may have been causing the noisy operation. He may have inspected the rod, but we'll never know. I had called this to the provider's attention as something I wanted done. If it wasn't part of the "Plumbing Inspection," they could have indicated so. I still would have paid additional moneys to have the rod removed and inspected.
    The repair person was polite and cleaned up the area. No issues with him, just the communication between the company and the worker and the worker and my wife.

  • My water heater was not heating and I called to have it checked.  They were going to come out the following day.  I could have morning or afternoon.  I picked morning.  They were to come between 8 and 1.  About 1:20 someone called to say they were behind and wouldn't be there until about 3.  Was that okey.  I agreed.  Didn't come again.  Got another call and they would be here between 4 and 4:30,  Again, nothing.  About 5:30 she called and I said not today.  She said that was what she was going to suggest. So we went with the next morning.  And I said he better not be late.  Fellow came and repaired it but just wasn't impressed with him.  The water heater is working now.  Tried to sell me a conditioning system for $4000.00 but had no information on it.  I didn't bite.  Just wasn't impressed with the whole thing.  I will not call them back.
