Boarding reviews in Guadalupe

We sort of do a package deal. For the 4 days it was like $26 a day, but she gets her own room, doggie ice cream cone and she plays with the dogs all day. We will be going back next week. I think there were 2 workers. We took our dog there for puppy training to the same facility, because some of the training is going up and down the aisles and stuff. The first time we took her there, so she knows the store and likes it them.

The first time we took her for boarding there, and the trainer there recommended that we consider having him do a couple sessions with her, so that she would be comfortable. So, we did that the very first time. She loves it there now. They also provide pet groomers, so you can get a bath on the last day and have her nails done and stuff. That isn?t where we have ever had her groomed, but we do the bath thing on the last day. She loves to play with the other dogs. They match them up by temperament, and ask a bunch of questions. The trainer helped to sort of define what her characteristics were because he knew her from class and the sessions. She?s plugged into like the kind of dogs that she plays well with, so she is in a little group with them every time. I didn?t enter all the comments about the training due to this review is about the boarding visit.

Yes, this clinic's doctors are knowledgeable, communicate well, and appear very good with animals. My issue is that their procedures and pricing are inflexible. Services are bundled instead of broken down by cost which means they cannot adjust costs for components of the bundled services that you do not want/need..
Specifically, I have a home visit vet for one of my pets. She needs x-rays done and sent to my vet for her evaluation. I don't really need the Board Certified Radiologist report for this. However, they can not deviate from their procedures or break the pricing down for just the services I need.
Since they could not be flexible, I gave them contact information for the other vet...since I was forced to pay for it, might as well. However, I know my vet will have made her determination BEFORE their report arrives. So it really is a waste of the radiologists time and my money. I will not engage this veterinary hospital again for supplemental care for this pet. I will also find another vet for my other pet.
Yes, my situation is unusual...all the more reason to be accommodating because its not setting a huge precedent for all the other home vet pet parents who need occasional in hospital services.

    Wiggles and Wags Pet Resort
The person giving me the tour of the facility prior to boarding said my pup would be put out to play with compatible dogs several times throughout the day, I was thrilled!  Also learning of the owner's background in high level dog training/showing/competing and judging in multiple disciplines over 20 years and all with a lovely bunch of border collies, that really says something about this service understanding the importance of shaping behavior, especially wanting to have good experiences for a young pup.
When I returned, my pup behaved as if it was just another day of fun and we've subsequently enrolled in four behavior courses offered by the owner of Wiggles & Wags, including Canine Good Citizen and trick training...all extremely worthwhile as this young pup has grown into a well-adjusted, confident individual in about any situation!  I can take her anywhere with confidence...and get invited back!
Thank you for all your hard work, Wiggles & Wags owners & staff!  I tell everyone about your wonderful services every chance I the dog park mostly!  ; )

Since this was our first time at Wiggles and Wags, we asked for a tour, and they were very accommodating. The place inside the
boarding area is immaculate, the cages were clean. If you closed your eyes you would never know this is a Kennel, no doggie smell.
The dogs are put into groups based on size and temperament, and are let out several times during the day in a large play area, with
supervision. My husband and I were very impressed. In fact, we will be using their day care facilities later this week.

As far as the grooming, we were very pleased at the end result. His white fur looked great, we could actually see the big brown
eyes, and he smelled great. Most importantly, he was wagging his tail when we picked him up, telling us
it had to be a positive experience.

We found this injured dove in our yard and they were really good about taking care of this dove, taking it seriously.  We have place only for an animal.  They were great.  They were responsive and did not charge us anything.  We have also taken strays into them.  The dove was bleeding in its chest probably the local cat caught it but University Animal Hospital said it was just superficial.

I live in Ahwatukee and this is the only place I've found that I really feel safe leaving my "furbabies".  This is a family business and you can always count on them making you and your pets feel like their favorite.  They genuinely love all the pets that walk in the door.  They have several pets them selves and have a whole front area boasting their pride!  They are always very accommodating to my constant changing schedule.  I have never had an issue here.  They always are in great communication with me and will even go get my pets special food in the event I didn't pack enough.  My dogs are very tiny and they keep them all together.   I don't have to worry about another dog running over my special needs dog in the play area because when they go out - it's their yard.  I love that I don't have to worry about them when I'm away.  I can always rest easy.  I've even seen pictures from some of them holding them when I get back so I know they get lots of attention.  They keep their facilities super clean with out smelling bleachy too.  They get 8 paws up from us!

Their facilities are very clean--no smell. They have a nice outside play area for the dogs and give them lots of play time. They allowed us to bring our dog's bedding, toys, and other items to make our dog comfortable.  The staff is very friendly and caring. We have used them twice for boarding and will continue to take our dog there. Highly recommend their services.

    University Animal Hospital
We have been using University Animal Hospital for our two dogs for more than 10 years now.  During that time, we have worked with several of the Vets depending on the situation at hand and the urgency that we had.
Most recently, we have been working with Dr. Koch who has been EXTREMELY helpful, accessible and sincere in his care for our 14 year old dog.  We have been able to leave voicemail messages for him and he has returned our calls even on weekends.  They have late hours for us working folks, and many times can fit us in on the same day.
Several years ago, when one of our dogs became suddenly ill from an immune system problem, the staff worked with us for several days to try and figure out what the problem was.  Eventually she had to be hospitalized, but University Animal Hospital doesn't have staff for overnight monitoring.  They worked with us to transfer her to the Emergency Animal Clinic in Gilbert.  Throughout her last days Dr. Koch kept calling us to check in on her progress, and offer his advice and opinions.
We've used their boarding facilities occasionally, but stopped using it when we found a neighbor who could take care of our dogs from our house.  The boarding facilities are decent, but in the heat of the summer can get a bit hot.

I cannot say enough good things about Dog Days. As long as we live in Arizona, this is the only kennel our dog will ever stay at. It is great. Our dog practically rips off our arms trying to get back to the other dogs when we bring him in - he is very social / friendly, but also can play rough, but we've never had a complaint from the staff - I think they use a spray bottle with water on the dogs if they are getting too "playful". All of the staff that we've met seem to genuinely like their jobs. We looked at 4 or 5 different kennels in our area before we used Dog Days for the first time. They were the ONLY kennel we checked out that allowed the dogs to play together at all. And they were the only ones who didn't charge an extra fee to let your dog out of their crate or run during the day; and if the other kennels offered that service, it cost extra per day, and involved someone walking the dog or letting them out by themselves in an open area for 10-20 minutes, once a day. There is just no comparison between Dog Days and other kennels. Our dog is so tired when we pick him up, he does almost nothing but sleep for 24-36 hours! I almost wondered if he had been drugged the first time we picked him up, but we've been back so often that I've seen that he just plays so much, he exhausts himself - he gets way more playtime at the kennel than we could ever give him at home. I give this company an A+, simply wonderful, and I do recommend them to anyone in search of a kennel. The only reason they got a B in price is that they cost more than most of the other kennels we had looked at, but absolutely worth it to us.
